I live in Melbourne and am now in my 70s. I haven't had a meat pie in more than 50 years. It would have been a Four N Twenty at the footy.

I live in Adelaide, and there is a small independent bakery not more than 300 metres from my front door. They make pies and pasties old school. My favourites are chunky steak and mushroom pies and pasties with mutton and veg filling. Rosella tomato sauce of course. None of that American ketchup. Follow that with a custard square. OMG the sky is bluer, the Sun shines brighter, and all is well with the world. Forget that fancy a$s French 4 star rubber tyre rating, basic is best.

forget about Melbourne I make the best Aussie pies in Saraburi and when back in school all I paid for a four n twenty pie and sauce was 10 cents. Now you should go and check out the South Melbourne Dim Sims at the same market

As a Melbournian myself, I have not been in the search for the best pies but I really want to do that.
Wow 4 pies, I could not eat 4 in a month. Best keep Sai away from those pies of she will start to look like me. I only have only had NZ pies, my favourite is the steak and cheese, delicious.
Has Sai ever disliked any food though ? You needed somebody who is a bit more discerning in their tastes, because she is a foody who likes everything she tastes 🤷♀

You got to have big chunks of beef in a decent pie. If it just mince it is rubbish full of artificial thickeners. As an alternative try NZ lamb and mint pies
