@@astrojourneyuk I have been using ASiair ever since I started Astrophotography 6-7 months ago. All I know is this device and nothing else. It’s really an amazing device with many possibilities. CS!
Nice to see an imaging video without 90% of it being pointless yapping about nothing or constantly repeating yourself. A sweet image too, love the face on spiral galaxy at 8 o'clock.
I’m glad you liked the video. Sometimes these videos feel a little similar each time and I need to focus on something useful in each one. What was the spiral galaxy face you mentioned? I can’t remember what that was.
What a lovely thing to say, I really appreciate you taking the time to encourage me. I have another video in progress although I’m limited by cloudy skies. 😂
Great overview! I’m still feeling my way around the ASIAIR Plus and this was perfect. I do have one question regarding guiding calibration. Last time out, I pressed the calibration button and did a calibration. Does that calibration stay fixed, e.g., when I set up again, i won’t have to do a guiding calibration again. Is that correct? If so, what would be the circumstances for needing to do a re-calibration (i.e., a new scope, change of observing location, etc.)? Again, this was most helpful, thank you.
It seems that you need to recalibrate if you change the scope, guidescope or if you rotate the guidescope in some way. I typically do it each time I setup which is good because I use the same ASIAIR device for different scopes and guidescopes.
If your setup is a fixed one on a pier then you can save the calibration, if not do it fresh every time. It goes very wrong when you have moved or altered something.
I thought that too but before replying looked up when you need to do it and it said if the scope is changed in some way. I figure it takes less than 5 minutes so why not do it anyway?
Could you please clarify, “if the scope is changed in some way…” Does this suggest that moving the scope is okay, you just can’t change the camera orientation, camera, etc.,? Much thanks for all the help.
Moving the whole setup is apparently ok and doesn’t need calibration. But if you rotate the camera connected to the guide scope in anyway you need to recalibrate.
I had to take a look back at my purchase history and found it. It was an Astro Essentials Sky-Watcher 9x50 Finder to C Adapter from FLO in the UK. Just the right sized threaded adapter. I bet the 2600MC pro images look great!
There’s a search feature in SkyGuide by the way! Bottom right on the tool bar. It does let you search for the non-catalogue names as well it’s quite awesome. Amazing image!
😂😂😂 there is that’s true. I think I was probably just on a mission to find it manually. Not sure why. With the searching comment it was for the ASIAIR that you can’t search for non catalogue names unless they’ve changed it recently. In the past when I’ve tried it, it didn’t work. :(
Very nice presentation of the imaging process. The final image is amazing 👍🏼.
Thank you. I do need to do a in-depth view of the ASIAIR. It is a great device. Thanks for watching. 😀

One of the best teachers out there, thanks.
You’re definitely way too kind, but thank you.

Thanks. About the 2600MC, I hope so, but since I received it, clouds clouds clouds ... :(
Damn clouds.
