Is this safe to use on an aluminium bike frame?

No, it will cause fatigue failure. To be honest it's not even safe on a steel bike. Best to not be lazy and just take the wheel off properly.

@@kyle8952this will not hurt a steel frame. I doubt there are many, if any, frames that are not steel that have these old school hubs. This is more or less aimed for bike mechanics that run a shop with less time and more bikes. This tool would benefit a shop by making a long process a quick one, because internal gear hubs and coaster brake hubs are indeed a process

Very cool but this can bend your frame and take it off alignement easly

Did you watch the video? Stays easily flex enough to slip in a tire/tube.

No, it's not a time safer. Holding a wheel in hands is faster than doing this on a frame. 😉
Still, I actually looking for a frame spreader because I want to upgrade my frame from hub gear to derailleur gear. It would be worth a try if this tool wasn't more expansive than a new frame. 😂

Horrendous! if I caught someone "repairing" a bike with such a tool I would kick his ass. The frame is out of alignment permanently because of this behavior.

and yet, when i had to chance inner tube and tire, i asked the bikeshop i bought the tube and tire from how they changed them, taking wheel out, or with tool. Even they do it with a tool to spread the frame.

What a horrible tool, who thought this was needed, bet its no quicker than removing the wheel and can guarantee if a customer saw you using this tool they won't be a repeat customer.
