My ex responded to the video I posted last week and most times after getting divorced you always seem to only remember the bad, but on this episode I want to share some of my favorite stories about my ex. One day I hope to look back on this and laugh, but until then all I can say is thank you for being there and I hope this sheds a little bit of light of what kind of woman my ex is. She will always be the mother to kids and she has done some amazing things for me and my family. I will always appreciate those moments. of course they were together almost 24 years (1998-2021) married for 18 years (2003-2021) they got officially divorced a year ago so it is hard but they would be alright eventually
This was one of the most authentic stories I've ever heard. Thank you for being real and for unapologetically you. I love the respect that you have for your kid's mother. We never have to know the details of your divorce and it's not our story to know. I wish my parents had the level of insight that you and your ex had in making the tough decisions you made.❤

Love ya bra,I totally understand about the kids, I haven’t talked to my daughter in about 3 years because of a bad joke I made when she needed me to be more sensitive. Like you I just hope one day we can rebuild our relationship when she is ready.

Excellent podcast..empathize with your feelings of loss over separation from your children. I had one son who passed in 2004. Was separated from him for 4 years during a very messy divorce. Very challenging, but "love finds a way" come back to Norfolk/va. Beach please.
I wish you both well amd that your kids heal from the divorce. Its unfortunate, but at the end you all created beautiful kids amd had a good marriage for the most part until it wasnt feasible to be together any more
My favorite pods are when Gary is getting real and having these heartfelt stories and my least favorite are the football ones 😭😭😭😭
I married a mamma bear, no matter what happens between us I know that our kids could not have had a better mother.
Parental alienation is a real thing; divorce is hard. 3 sides of the story. The best advice I can give is validate your kids truth. No matter if you are right or wrong in their story....just own your part. No justification no excuses just apologize; accountability in their version of the story.
This was one of those celebrity divorces that really hurt my feelings! Idk how but I felt blindsided even though I don’t know them and it was just simply because I hated they ALL were going through it. I grew up with divorced parents. I’m 43 and currently trying to decide which parent my husband and I are visiting for Thanksgiving. I hope Gary’s relationship with his kids gets much better soon!💞
You say a mouthful here. blindsided, and hating that there might be bad feelings, and having to choose. Each day is precious. Making good memories for each day.
Life can be precious & unpredictable. Thanks for sharing Gary as this isn’t a “funny episode” but the content is just as important to keep the right perspective and stay thankful for each of the blessings all of us do have & to cherish those more as we go day to day. It took my daughter having my second grandchild, but my ex and I are at a good place. Years later. Now we three get along, but our oldest son is mad at the world. Just love your kids. With age comes wisdom. They’ll come around and if not, it’s not your fault. Forgiveness is for you not them. I enjoyed the whole podcast. You loved you ex and raised children, hurt is still there, but life goes on and people move on. You two will get over the hurt and hopefully become friends if for no other reason than the kids.

Years ago watching you on BET vs watching this, you have, correction you are going through, figuring your life, your adult life out as a man and its something I think many females would agree its a side every man should take. Its sad to see, and hear for you but "everything happens for a reason". I don't know your story, nor do I want to. But your kids, will come around just don't push. Love isn't easy, but with Love comes growth, acceptance and above all forgiveness. And you've hit all 3. Appreciate the honesty.

I never kept my kids away from their father. I knew I never wanted to be blamed for them not having a relationship with their dad. They're all grown now and only my daughter has a relationship with her dad. My boys do not speak to him. It's all things he did when they were young. I keep telling them you only get one dad. Hopefully in time they will forgive him and open up to him. Hopefully your kids will one day open up to you too.

I had an affair with a married man, but I upfront told him I wanted nothing from him when we found out I was pregnant.
We communicate respectively, however, he has NO say in what I do what my child. I like it that way because we literally travel all over the world and I don't need permission. Yes, I know when she grows up she'll wonder who/what her dad was. But I think with the fact that I've managed to take her to all 7 Continents without a man or a dad.. she'll be ok!
