Most folks commenting don't use these awesome machines every day or at all for that mater. Heck, this video is the closest they've ever come to a tractor! Not a JD man out there that will argue Case can get more power to the ground. JD is in almost every aspect a much more technology driven company and that tec and accuracy is why most JD guys stay green. Yes, they have issues (a lot) but most manufacturers are suffering from the same issues. And yes, JD is overpriced (they all are) but there is nothing that compares to the tech and communication advantages of JD. But we live that nightmare occasionally, cuz when the computer goes down it shuts us down too! That's just the price of Ag at scale these days.
If you’ve driven these machines you’d know that the Case has the better gearbox, on the road (uk) the John Deere is a bit of a handful especially when pulling out junctions because it was soo slow to change gear. I had a 620 quad for 3 years then they got me a 9620RX for 1 year then changed to 9RX640 and that for a year, I missed my quad, John Deere cab was a lot nicer place to be compared to the quad I had but the red pulled so much better and was better on fuel. I can’t talk for the new Case machines or the new mega jd that’s coming out as I haven’t driven them only but from my 8000hrs operating Case 620 and 3000hrs on RX I’d take the Case any day.
From what I’ve heard the transmission is the main thing holding the Deere quads back. How do the 9620rx and 9rx640 compare in that regard? They improved the transmission on the 8rs quite a bit with that refresh, so I’m curious about the bigger ones. (though the 8rs had a plenty good one to begin with lol)
@@Beyonder8335 the gearbox on the 640RX was still a bit slow compared to a quadtrac but a bit more refined than the 620RX, pulling in field with gearbox in custom and RPM droop set to 20% it was great, very reactive as long as you set the target speed not too high so that it wasn’t getting greedy with the gears. The 8RX is an awesome machine, the E23 box was great and pulled so well for its size, we got a demo of one with the new hybrid electric gearbox and that thing was mega, it was so reactive and seem to have way more pull, On the road, the hybrid gearbox made the tractor feel way more controllable and safe (which is a good feeling)

I knew a farmer with a John Deere he thought it could pull a pan . That tractor was spinning all four and bending in the middle . He kicked up all that dirt for 2 shovels full of dirt . I told him about the Case tractors and he had one the next week . He thought his farm tractor could pull a pan . If you want work to get done use a Case .
Quad tracks are doing most all of the pan work on Delmarva. I leased 6 Quads for a new golf course just up the road. Also used for clearing land for new poultry houses. Real work horses.
It has been like this for a long time. In the 1990's JD 6000 series tractors struggled to produce their rated horsepower. The case Maxxums and Magnums at the same time easily produced more than the rated power at the PTO

Well. I am no expert. But seeing how burnt the Case Steiger tractor exhaust is ( how white ) I am pretty sure this is not Factory set anymore. It’s a Cummins engine, and personally 98% of those Cummins are "deleted". So. Now, take a rag, put it in front of your mouth, pinch your nose and go for a run. I know I know. I must be devil for defending Johndeere. The funny thing is that I am not defending them. A deleted engine will always win over a tier4final. It’s simply the way it is. Flow is restricted ( to supposedly be more clean… while burning more fuel… )

Cummins engines are known to be thirsty. Once I've had a Hitachi ZW310 in test in my former company to eventually replace a Cat 966M (non XE). Well, while the previous 966M XE used to work at 6 gals/HR feeding clay in the plant's hoppers, the 966M used to require 7,5 gals with an average operator, while being 20% slower, my best result being 6,7 gals/hr but with the same 20% speed gap. The Hitachi came with the plant under winter maintenance so we used it for plowing snow. 9 gals/hr...
I don't know the exact specs for the case machines are always very fuel efficient in my experience produce a lot of power for the amount of fuel they use. Not only that but I think you'll find a lot of features about the John Deere are not up to par with the Case. You'd be really hard pressed to justify the deer especially with the price tag
Row crop farming and technology, JD all the way. Power for dragging big equipment and pre planting tasks, Case can't be beat. We have both and they are extremely comfortable with a lot of creature comforts. But nothing does row crops as easy and accurately as JD and they know it! That green paint costs its weight in gold!

The 9rx 640 has a peak horsepower of 691 while the 620 tops out at 682.6 which is only 9 horsepower less not 20 however what is more impressive is the fact that the 620 has a 12.9l iveco engine while the RX has a 15L Cummins. More displacement should mean better performance when the horsepower is so even
I think it’s less of a horsepower thing, and more of a transmission thing. The 9r/rx transmissions are known to be slow shifters, which holds them back in situations like this.
Not surprised at all that the Case IH 620 Quad destroyed the Deere 9RX. I mean even in first race 620 gave the 9RX a huge lead, and still smoked it at the end. Second race wasn't even close to fair as the 620 won by 15 lengths LOL.

I was watching a review of a JD on a farm that usually runs Case IH and the operator said the Case IH shifted a lot quicker and went up gears a lot faster than the JD. At the time I thought it might be bias but after seeing this it appears to just be the facts. Personally I think you pay an hell of a premium for that green paint I'm guessing because it is made with recycled dollars that Deere bought from the US mint.

The Deere just needs a case transmission and it could hang. Everyone complains about how sluggish it is shifting. The case is super smooth and can skip gears quickly.
Case provides both cvt and power shift transmission for quadtrac but jd only provides power shift for this tractor. And looks like this quadtrac had cvt. So very easy win. Despite only having very slight more power ( actually less rated power lol ).
As someone who has drove both… it’s not close. Deere has a nicer cab but pulling power is case all day. John Deere transmission suck as well, they shift incredibly slow so this guy was probably downshifting but it’s about as fast as wagon train shifting. 😂
Out of curiosity have you had a chance to run the new 9rx640s vs the 9620rxs? Curious if they cleaned up the transmission any on them. They smoothed it out quite a bit on the 8rs, though the 8rs had a decent transmission to start with lol.
When I was younger I loved JD. Thats all we used on the farm. Now, not only does it seems like theyre slackin compared to competitors, but their business practices are complete and udder garbage… and a rip off. I’d never buy JD equipment if we still farmed.

@@timzona6829 If it's green it won't make it through the beans. JD ain't been good since the mid-2000s, before that even. They peaked from 1970-90. CNH and AGCO demolish JD. The only reason JD is in business still is because of brand loyalty. John Deere barely makes anything themselves. They had to buy Waterloo Boy because nobody wanted the tractors that John Deere made themselves. JD was junk. For the most part, it always has been, and now, it will be for forever, or until they finally get back to making quality products. (also JD just makes a slightly different tractor than Yanmar does, for the compacts I mean. It only has a few extra amenities, still has a Yanmar engine. They just license/buy everything because they can't make it themselves because then nobody will want it.)

Awful lot of black smoke come from the Case when leaving the start line. I'm guessing that machine is turned up and/or the emissions have left the chatroom.
