If we accept that "random" can be used synonymously with "unplanned" ... _are we obliged to attribute the (purported) existence of Yahweh to randomness?_
It is so hard to listen to Aron talk about trans issues… I really wish he would just say, “call the Trans-Atlantic Call-in Show” and then move on to a new caller.
"I am he as you are he as you are me, And we are all together". I like this guy. All three are just going in circles. Does it even matter if the Gods are real, or made up. What is real? This is fun.
Aron should do a show with a co-host named Aaron who happens to also be an RN. Aron could also showcase one of his birds in his background, I suggest a wren.
I'm unsure if there is a correlation between adrenally fueled speech and religious narcissism, but Richard is sipping the high octane boost of his own specialness.
54:13. MaDude.... At the beginning of this call, you were new to the show and only listened for an hr or so.... And now you gonna talk about ALL the other callers?
I was TRYING to get a blood sacrifice ritual going but, as Aron said, the cloud cover was pretty thick here. And I just can’t chase people like I used to. Headdress gets heavy.
When it comes to religion, "Faith" is often a synonym for "Loyalty". They're expecting their master to show up one day and reward them for being loyal when reason tells them their religion does not match reality.
@Geo, I have "faith" that my car will start tomorrow, that is based on the fact that I take care of it, I drove it yesterday, it has gas in it, etc. Do I "know with 100% certainty" that it will? No. There are millions of things that could happen. BUT, I am 100% sure that when I turn the key if it does start, it will drive and NOT fly. Religion says, "You have never seen this happen and I have no reasons I can give you for it to happen, but you should believe that it is true and will happen because we told you to". Would you believe that your car will fly tomorrow because your priest told you to? What if they told you that God says it will? You are basically putting the opposite assertion that I can't PROVE my car WON'T fly tomorrow and that because I have "faith" that it will drive that I am somehow wrong.
You don’t have faith your car will start, you have evidence. Most cars in service start most of the time, and I presume your car has a near-perfect track record of starting without considering other cars. If those things weren’t true and evident, you would be irrational to believe your car would start.
And Richard also demonstrates what I say when the universe is in doubt someone is either trying to fool yourself or make you doubt yourself just enough that a god term definition or idea
Did anyone else notice how Geo started off the call with saying he didn't like when theists use the "were you there?" argument but near the end yells "were you there?" at Aron several times.
LOL Richard can't even read HIS OWN study! Guy doesn't even know the definition of the terms he is using. That he initially wanted to act like he was above everyone else is PERFECT Dunning-Kruger! Chefs kiss perfection I can't eat another bite.
"Give me an example of something mental causing something physical." Placebo effect; traumatic psychological experiences changing the physical structure of the brain...
Richard what is "fundamental matter" meant to be, when we talk about fundaments in normal day talks, it is something on which to build a structure or an argument. And fundamental parts are the basic parts. What are YOU talking about in your philosophy
Having the double dose on Sunday was spectacular. Matt, Paul, Aron, and Aaron. I don't know if it was a one time thing, but it was a great surprise. Get better, Jimmy!
Aron is not for those begginer aplogogists. He's waaay over their heads. If you're calling for the first time, I suggest you find someone on the line who has more patient for kindergarden level apologists.
That Temptress looks good, probably can't get up on the east coast. I hope you can try Oscar Blues Double Dales IPA and Grey Sail Captains Daughter IPA, its obvious you will need it.
If Gezondo thinks people don’t tend to blame God for results, he doesn’t watch his sports. And that makes sense after he said that only “one in a million” women can beat him at sports.
Geo doesn't seem to understand that the word faith is being used differently, I don't have faith that my car isn't going to explode when I get in it tomorrow, I have tons of evidence that makes this an unlikely event, such as cars exist, lots of people use cars every day and explosions are extremely rare. Geo is like most people who make this same equivocation fallacy, they don't seem to be aware of all the prior evidence they have for mundane events and then think its the same for a god when it's painfully obvious that they have zero evidence for god, you can't even show that a god is possible let alone responsible for anything.
I read that, scrolled up to look at Aaron again, and had to laugh _"Our next caller wants to talk about how skepticism is just lying to yourself. You're on The Line with Bigfoot and Deadpool, let's get into it."_
@@Deutsch-um6rt Aaron really does look like Ryan Reynolds with a beard, and Aron has a story about being mistaken for Bigfoot on a back country road one night
1:19:00 Caller Philosophy is a waste of time to circle jerk around in circles how do we know in other dimension realms maybe even other universes that 2 + 2 = 4 ???? Equals God.
Geo you said: when we invest in something we need to have "faith". It's a way to say we have faith in the project, not god. We do need market research team, marketing team, finance analysis team, network and customer service team to improve CHANCE of success of a project investment. We spend time, money, and work to check the advantage and disadvantage of project before invest in it. Sometimes the project has low chance to success (profitable) 40%-50%, below 40% chance no one want invest into it, 40% still success, we say the faith help us. It's not literally god, it's the work of everybody
Religion is community, psychodrama, aesthetics, placebo effect, and symbolism. Its best to acknowledge that upfront and embrace it, rather than believe supernaturalism. Materialist nihilist satanism is your best bet for the religiously minded.
I am training myself away from the word "confidence", and replacing it with "certainty", "degrees of certainty".. due to the Latin roots "con" and "fide" ("with.. faith").
Frank, there was no issue with Dillahuntys comparison. If you are trying to figure out if you are hungry, you trust your own mind on that. If you are trying to determine if another person is hungry, you ask them. Some people express their state of being hungry some dont. Some are more obvious about it than others.
I don't get the prefix suffix thing either about trust and faith: for instance 'disabled' has the prefix 'dis' and the suffix 'ed'. But how does this relate to trust and faith? Mistrustful? Unfaithful?
Matter is an image of the real real. To our life and understanding and ability to interact, matter is matter. Whatever god reality has for matter is irrelevant
I think that guy could have made a better argument if he'd described the trinity as 3 separate gods working together to form the world. Not a literally "dream" but more like a shared vision of how they wanted their project to turn out. It's kind of similar to what I think of when they say god is outside of time. It seems more like they would be outside of our perception of time but would still have their own. Like how a fly which has a shorter lifespan might experience time differently than we do.
30:20 talking about how God would have to coordinate every human action on the planet in order to facilitate like answered prayers or God looking out for someone, it made me wonder if it could be mathematically calculated roughly how many different actions he would have to account for while letting some people go about their lives while ensuring certain people stumble into whatever scenario that was planned for them.. with 8 billion people to coordinate, it seems almost infinitely complicated to set up certain situations without eventually running into problems that arise down the line via free will and/or other divine things he plans later on. Almost seems entirely impossible to cleanly run such a system for an extended period of time
1:37:36 they became more sceptical and the % shifted to the side X, doesnt that mean that they were previously less sceptical to come to the conclusion Y? How can Y then be more reasonable if it's less sceptically accepted.
Geo passed his 'Apologist Masters Degree' (aka 'lying for God' )with Honours. He clearly wasn't paid enough attention as a child, hence his desperate attempts to get it on this call. Apologists are deaf to what they don't want to hear. Geo was stuck in a loop and couldn't get out of it. I'd have lost patience with him very early into the call. Kudos to Aran for keeping cool.
I have a humble suggestion for dealing with “trolls in pectore” (that means unannounced) like Geo. Don’t go on “yes you are, no I’m not” shouting matches, that’s the proverbial “pig mud fight”. Just use sarcasm, derision and piss them off by “claiming victory” every few minutes. Don’t fight the pig, just use their trolling against them.

Yes he sounds familiar and I recall someone named geo, maybe the same person but too lazy to check.
Agreed. Maybe not this show but to another show recently.
He sounds like Izondo. The guy who can play basketball better than any woman on Earth.
@@MrGeemontyisando, he had beef with Matt and they was a “Joe mama” back and force
@Deutsch-um6rt *forth
Geo survived a terminal illness 😂😂😂
Maybe that's why he only used to be immortal. I guess it's a one-time deal. Must be a consumable rather than equipable.
I face palmed when he said that.
Faith broke Geo's mind.
Once Aron's dog fully appeared at about 1:36:26, Richard kind of winked out of existence. Beautiful
Watching Aron Ra slowly zoning out as Sam (he/him) in MA prattled on and on (and on) about quantum determinism was priceless. I'm talking about freezing the frame count at the 19:13 mark. That is more or less the exact same expression I make over smug presuppositionalists (read: garden variety) and the entire Babies-Are-Born-Atheists trope.
If we accept that "random" can be used synonymously with "unplanned" ... _are we obliged to attribute the (purported) existence of Yahweh to randomness?_
Thanks
That was a great smile from Aron while Geo was babbling along.
Geo "sometimes you can know something that humans cannot know". 😖
Geo, If you are reading this. Please don't call again.
And if you ever feel like it, drown your phone or go play some basketball or something
I'd probably rather have Geo than Richard.
@@jamesy52wasted potential
The children on the background of Geo are a massive reason for concern.
It is so hard to listen to Aron talk about trans issues… I really wish he would just say, “call the Trans-Atlantic Call-in Show” and then move on to a new caller.
That show is always on when I'm at work. I can never watch it live.
"I am he as you are he as you are me, And we are all together". I like this guy. All three are just going in circles. Does it even matter if the Gods are real, or made up. What is real? This is fun.
You'd think that a bear would be wearing a pair of Timberlands😂
I'd say Kodiaks.
Or, better still, bear feet.
(I don't yet know context. Reading as I start video.)
I was thinking Kodiaks as well... 🤣
Yes hahahhaaa - excellent
I just heard that conversation. I think I lost a few brain cells listening to this troll.
Happened to me once, but the bear was wearing crocs.
Aron should do a show with a co-host named Aaron who happens to also be an RN.
Aron could also showcase one of his birds in his background, I suggest a wren.
Isando , were you crying at the end? 😢😢😢😂😂
Aron loving on his animals is amazing. I love you parasocially, good sir.
I'm unsure if there is a correlation between adrenally fueled speech and religious narcissism, but Richard is sipping the high octane boost of his own specialness.
Geo - Been there, done that. You've lied about "not calling before" your "accent and enflection" popped out when you got excited. lol
It always does. He thinks he’s so smart, lol.
Good show guys. You two go well together.
54:13. MaDude.... At the beginning of this call, you were new to the show and only listened for an hr or so....
And now you gonna talk about ALL the other callers?
Geo is a longtime caller and troll.
"And then Lucifer says, 'Thanks for shining some light.'"
😂😂😂
I jumped ahead randomly and the first thing I heard was, "I'm not a troll." 😂
Rich u were told to call because u were talking about physics and quantum mechanics as far as I remember
And Richard also demonstrates what I say when the universe is in doubt someone is either trying to fool yourself or make you doubt yourself just enough that a god term definition or idea
Geo’s call has to be the most blatant example of “I know you are but what am I?” that I have EVER heard on this entire channel.
God doesn't meta game when playing Jesus, and I respect that
Did anyone else notice how Geo started off the call with saying he didn't like when theists use the "were you there?" argument but near the end yells "were you there?" at Aron several times.
I honestly feel like the biggest problem with all these shows is that the hosts don't know how to communicate with really stupid people.
Geo took the trophy as the dumbest caller EVER!!!
LOL Richard can't even read HIS OWN study! Guy doesn't even know the definition of the terms he is using. That he initially wanted to act like he was above everyone else is PERFECT Dunning-Kruger! Chefs kiss perfection I can't eat another bite.
"Give me an example of something mental causing something physical."
Placebo effect; traumatic psychological experiences changing the physical structure of the brain...
They gave him far too much time to be honest. He gave me a headache.
49:00 I WISH Aron would just keep pointing out the places where he swaps definitions of faith....
I love it when they bring Ryan Reynolds to host the atheist show ❤
I read that, scrolled up to look at Aaron again, and had to laugh
_"Our next caller wants to talk about how skepticism is just lying to yourself. You're on The Line with Bigfoot and Deadpool, let's get into it."_
@@BaronVonQuiply wait, I was actually talking about the co-host😂😂
@@Deutsch-um6rt Aaron really does look like Ryan Reynolds with a beard, and Aron has a story about being mistaken for Bigfoot on a back country road one night
1:19:00 Caller Philosophy is a waste of time to circle jerk around in circles how do we know in other dimension realms maybe even other universes that 2 + 2 = 4 ???? Equals God.
The trinity was thought up to justify 3 gods and still call it monotheistic
Geo you said: when we invest in something we need to have "faith". It's a way to say we have faith in the project, not god. We do need market research team, marketing team, finance analysis team, network and customer service team to improve CHANCE of success of a project investment. We spend time, money, and work to check the advantage and disadvantage of project before invest in it. Sometimes the project has low chance to success (profitable) 40%-50%, below 40% chance no one want invest into it, 40% still success, we say the faith help us. It's not literally god, it's the work of everybody
"I don't have a belief."
"How is that possible if you're an atheist?"
By definition😂
geo has mashed potatoes in his head where his brains used to be
Religion is community, psychodrama, aesthetics, placebo effect, and symbolism. Its best to acknowledge that upfront and embrace it, rather than believe supernaturalism. Materialist nihilist satanism is your best bet for the religiously minded.
I am training myself away from the word "confidence", and replacing it with "certainty", "degrees of certainty".. due to the Latin roots "con" and "fide" ("with.. faith").
1:36:27 OMG that's a beautiful dog!
Oh dear, it's Aron and Aaron! Now I'm going to get all confused over who is talking!!!
🤣😅😂
Frank, there was no issue with Dillahuntys comparison.
If you are trying to figure out if you are hungry, you trust your own mind on that.
If you are trying to determine if another person is hungry, you ask them.
Some people express their state of being hungry some dont. Some are more obvious about it than others.
Geo reminds me of Paul Ruben's character from nice dreams. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm not sorry haha"
For fuck sake, use the mute button.
Yeah, that call with Richard was *excruciating* because Aron kept ignoring the delay and whatever phone issues they were having.
@@SnareRushJunkieI haven’t even got that far. I think this is one of the few times I don’t watch the entire episode.
Geosus what a feckless troll.
I don't get the prefix suffix thing either about trust and faith: for instance 'disabled' has the prefix 'dis' and the suffix 'ed'. But how does this relate to trust and faith? Mistrustful? Unfaithful?
Maybe Geo is god trying to convince the world with his very compelling and inteligent arguments.
I'm converted! Hallelujah! 🤣
Almost seems entirely impossible to cleanly run such a system for an extended period of time
"A casual stroll through the lunatic asylum shows that faith does not prove anything."

I like how Geo said other callers were stupid, then proved he was one of the dumbest callers.

Are snakes affectionate? I find the idea of that snake looking like it’s cuddling with Aron just adorable. Please don’t tell me I’m seeing things.
Geo was 100% trolling.
or 1000%?
@@kentonbaird1723 I know two things with absolute certainty. 1) I'm not omniscient, and 2) he was trolling.
