I love em' all, but my favorite has to be The Pirate's Curse. Now, we've got a sixth Shantae game coming out, a canceled one revived for over 20 years at that, and I so can't wait.
Shantae: Best in world exploring, hidden levels, and hardest out of all of them. Shantae Risky revenged: improved graphics, innovating world interaction, and a great plot twist. Shantae and the pirates curse: the best story, fast and smooth gameplay, and unique move-set and upgrades. Shantae 1/2 Genie hero: revolutionary graphics, soft reboot of the series, and unique boss battles. Shantae and the seven Sirens: a new and unique setting, great leveling exploration, and fun new characters. All Shantae games: amazing smooth animation!
Thank you for this. I just got all the games and am about to play them all. Well, I already played through the first one a bit, and have beaten Half-Genie Hero, but I'm glad to know what I'm getting into with each one.
My cousin owns the whole collection while I'm only interested in Half-genie Hero and Seven Sirens. P.S. Shantae and the Seven Sirens was released for consoles in 2020
I love how good these games play out, story wise, gameplay wise, and character wise. I honestly came up with some reboots for the series itself. Half-Genie: A Shantae Saga: This was inspired by how the games in the early 2010s were dark and lore heavy. This quintopoly of games (Eye of Copper, Nerves of Steel, Heart of Gold, Wish of Diamond, and Curse of Platinum), will concentrate on making the game combat and platform oriented. There is muti-player, so you don't have to fight alone. The story is that Shantae is trying to find out about her family's secrets, but Risky is power hungry, looking for all genies around the world to create the ultimate wish, and Shantae and her friends must stop this before it's too late, while dealing with some other serious and non-serious issues along the way. Shanise: A spinoff that was more original than anything. The story is that the students of Shamrock High (Shanise, Susan, Brian, Rose, Holly, Belle and Ruby) were all engulfed by a sinkhole that seals itself back up, and now the teens are in a new city they now reside in. While Shanise and her friends get their newfound powers from a genie lamp, Ruby is deemed the new queen of the Tinkerbat Kingdom. Shanise and her friends will try and stop Ruby from world domination. [PLUS, there is a spinoff game for this called "Holly, Animatronic Age" which has the protagonist, Holly goes through the entirety of an establishment curing and saving animatronics from this curse that is haunting the place. Kinda like FNaF: Security Breach, but better.] Shantae: Born Wild: This was made from the idea of Sonic Boom. The good parts at least. This game will function like an open world version of River City Girls. You can get to play as 6 different characters (Shantae, Sky, Bolo, Rottytops, Dolly, and Bullette). The story is that Shantae's dance instructor is a robot commanded by a Tinkerbat, who was sent by Risky to scare and make all of Sequin Land dystopian because she felt like it, and it's up to Shantae and her friends to stop it. Shantae R: A Sonic the Hedgehog inspired reboot that takes elements from Sonic 06 with three different campaigns: Shantae, Nega Shantae, and Hover. The story of Shantae is the Risky is sencelessly attacking towns here and there, and she must put a stop to it, all the while dealing with Bolo and Bullette who believe that she was the reason why Bandit Town is in shambles before making them her friends. Nega Shantae's campaign is that her vast taste for revenge against her Shadowling brethren for being locked up for years on end, and just wants to see the world out of her locked up life, away from her captor, Risky's great grandfather. Hover's campaign is that her future is dystopian and wants to avoid it from happening, so she travels to the past to change everything.
@@LukeA471 Try playing the Definitive mode if you haven't already. It's actually challenging. Also, how is a true Metroidvania (SS) a watered down platformer (HGH)? Completely different games.
in my opinion the games are getting easier and less complex. the exception imo is half genie. i thought it was different to the rest and not in a good way.
It was a remake of the first game but didn't remake it exactly 1 to 1. I think Sirens was made based on criticism for Half Genie Hero. Seems like it anyway. Pirates Curse is fine and all but too spastic. I like the mechanic of jumping into the foreground and background in Risky's Revenge. That reminds me a lot of Wario Land on Virtual Boy. I think the series overall has been good though. We rarely get a new game in the series and it seems to be solid every time it comes back.
Well half-genie hero wasn't a remake exactly. It was more of a reboot/ soft reboot/ remake. ( Even the NPCs aren't sure.) But yeah, that game had more of an arcade feel to it while the rest were a platformer/ metroid type of game. I genuinely enjoyed Seven Sirens a lot more than half-genie since it was more like a Metroid game. And I hope they make a sequel to that game. And speaking of which, I'm really excited for the sequel to the original Shantae game for the Gameboy Advance. 👍😊
@@macuser7048 Seven Sirens to me brought the Shantae series back to its roots. You know what I mean if you played the first 2 games where everything is connected.
Capcom published it but they didn't make it. They advertised it like crazy in magazines but because it was the butt end of the Game Boy Color's lifespan, nobody bought it. Then the cartridge went to EBAY for insanely high prices even for the time. Because of that, I never got to buy it and play it back then. To make matters worse, emulating the game back then was impossible because emulators couldn't handle that game in particular for whatever reason. It took years to figure out how to emulate the original Shantae. These days it works no problem and the game was even brought back officially. :D Been following it for years.
@@macuser7048 I heard Zelda is really good on GBC, I think both Oracle and Awakening? Never grew up with GB games, was a NDS kid to be honest, although, I’ve been wanting to try some new stuff from older consoles when I get the chance… such as Chrono Trigger and A Link to the Past, was always focused on Mario when I first worked out emulation, haha.
@@Ablaire Awakening wasn't by Capcom. Zelda Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages were done by Capcom at Nintendo's request. Because of that they stuck around until the Game Boy Advance for the first Four Swords game released with A Link To The Past. The Gamecube Four Swords game had nothing to do with Capcom but continues the same style.
Because Vita was the same time as PS4. The original PSP got other Capcom titles like Ghosts n Goblins, Darkstalkers, Power Stone, Street Fighter, and Mega Man.
Pirate's Curse y 7 Sirens definitivamente son metroidvanias, pero Half-Genie Hero es bastante lineal. En cuanto a los dos primeros juegos, no estoy muy seguro, pero me parecen muy lineal tambien
