Hey @zizaran this really needs some more explanation. Pohx's guides are loved for a reason, it has all sorts of FAQ questions and extra stuff, Maxroll doesn't compare. 'When/how to switch' is a real unanswered question. Overall in mapping it's... meh. I found a 5div item early on and have invested a bit in the build but it's kinda slow, kinda clunky, and the low chaos res concerns me.
yeah the build is doesn't not give that wow factor at all when u play it, for me i have invested around 10 div and i am thinking about changing it YES is it tanky Yes u will have no problem with maps (look for map modifiers and u are fine) but the build overall it lacks a lot of smoothness and speed clearing
You can take the 1% spell block per 5 attack block mastery from the deflection wheel. This lets you change the craft on your chest from 7% block to 8% max life.
This was the biggest bait I've seen so far Defense - sure Survivability- sure Damage - Sub par Time to put everything together and get half way to what the POB or the deal items needed - Weeks I don't want to shit on the build but you're way better off with something that has better damage scaling, you'll grow a beard and your first bourn will have his first kid by the time you get your first watchstone
This exactly the sort of guide I was looking for AND it had extra information on maxroll! I really enjoy the maxroll collage and I hope you continue to do so. Thanks so much!
I used splitting steel with chance to bleed. Zizarin did the same thing in his livestream on launch day. He used spectral throw for 2 seconds, said that he hates that skill, then threw it away and switched to splitting steel with chance to bleed.
I would personally invest less in Spell Suppression on tree and gear and possibly path on top to get Vanquisher and Nomadic Teachings, but overall nice build, thanks for helping newer and less experienced players with guide how to level melee as well!
Exactly 2 hours After I did mine In Depth lacerate gladiator haha Even if mine could be considered much more in depth - it is still very cool to see a different spin on build. Cheers!
I just watched your vid before this one. It was very well done. Good detail and well explained. I added it to my watchlist so I could keep referring back to it. Keep up the good work man.
I know you probably won’t see this but I am concerned about the config settings on your POB. It seems like there is some janky settings being used that are inflating the dps by 4x at least. For example the exerted attacks should not be set to max. After we fix all of the configs, the dps on this build at all stages is concerning to say the least.
Can you tell me which settings you are talking about? Because I can only find "Exerted/Boosted calc mode" and if i switch that to "Average" instead of "Max Hit" the Bleed DPS is exactly the same?
I tried doing act 1 with this guide like 10 times tonight and have come to the conclusion that spectral throw feels like ass unless positioning is perfect against a wall, whereas frost blades felt way better immediately. I'm a beginner though.
Video says no Jagged Technique, guide says yes Jagged Technique. Me dumb, can only follow guide, me confused, what do? (Build has been damn fun. Early bleed explosions feels so good)
So basically you take jagged technique. And you keep it until endgame bossing. When you are farming endgame bosses, you remove jagged technique and take war of attrition instead and then you take some more chance to aggravate bleeding and it will be enough for the boss fight even though you don't have 100% aggravate anymore. The guide has separate trees for mapping, and bossing. But tldr just take jagged technique and don't worry about this until endgame boss farming.
this exactly, i thought today about 2 starter, i played many times in the past lacerate gladi and cyclone slayer, i think both make a comeback. I might play both but gladi first. thanks for bringing this back, underlines my motivation for this starter.
What is the "Exerted/Boosted calc mode" in configuration you have set it to "max hit" and when i change it to "average" damage is down by 90% Description of it in PoB is something with lining up all warcries but this build dost not use warcries Idk what to think can someone explain? looks sus
@@Thasky_ I am actually not sure if it is Ziz fault... It should've not even applied as he doesn't have Warcries. And this DPS changes only in left part of the PoB. If you go to calculation page, it shows me no difference between Warcry and no warcry. Unless you check EQ with Fist of War (then it does averaging of 3 hits, even though only max damage will apply for bleed, so you can easily set it to max damage.
If i ever have the free time to play i'll definitely go and play lacerate since it's my first build ever and i like how it looks because it looks so cool
Hi there, I've decided this will be my league starter :) Have some question, I find some differences between PoEvault info and maxroll, which one should you recommend to follow? e.g Jack the Axe is not even mentioned in maxroll, but in PoE seems pretty solid :) thx for the effort
I think Jagged Technique is gonna be so good for leveling and while progressing through maps. Maybe I'm wrong and lacerate got such a big buff that it can overcome early issues, but I think most people (myself included) are going to play a slower skill earlier, so the QoL and damage from aggravate will be really noticeable.
Flesh and stone is not in the build ? Why is there passive node that grant buff for blood or sand stance if the aura is not in the build ? Or i missed something x)
By default when you use an ability that involves Blood/Sand stance, if you dont have the ability to toggle stance from then you are in Blood Stance by default for the sake of the ability. The real question though is why is Bladestorm even in the build and gemmed for support? Should we be using it over Lacerate ay any time?
so... he`s talking 4 min about taking "Weapon Master" for mapping and "War of Attrition" for bossing and his PoB has "Jagges Technique" choosen for uber lab and mapping :/
This is what I tried to league start in 3.24 actually. Lacerate of hemorrhaging was already pretty decent but the numbers just weren’t there without crazy gear. Seems like it’s pretty much gonna be unilaterally better this league, I’m hyped.
question about the bleed glad PoB: why is the value for "Exerted/boosted calc mode:" set to "maximum" when there is no warcry to exert the attacks? it quadruples the dmg of the pob but i cant figure out where this comes from :( or if that makes any sense...
@@drago2210 might be an idea, but the thing is i did a bleed glad lacerate myself and when i checked for differences in PoB after i saw the insane dmg differences i checked that box in my build and it did nothing. so I suppose there is something, but I can't find it. Also the checkboxes for bleeding and moving for enemies are checked so dmg should be correct already. without that checkbox my build is really close to Ziz's number...
@@TheSaucySensay Let me rephrase that: No warcry that exerts attacks -.- edit: It was already written like that..."no warcry to exert the attacks" which remains true
Groovy. I was thinking of Glad for a league start. I'm normally a cold dot enjoyer, but vortex is no longer in the game so I think a tanky bleed Glad is just what the doctor ordered. Many thanks.
Ziz ever consider doing voice work? My kid was screaming his head off (4 months old) turned this video on and as soon as Ziz started talking he immediately calmed down. I think he also is excited for this build.
Is there a reason for the Blood Stance / Sand Stance Axe mastery node? Am I missing something? Because I don't see where we use the aura. Edit: Nvm, apparently you are in blood stance by default if you have Bladestorm equipped.
@@killerix35 Make sure tree is set to SC Cluster, Skills Awakened, items set to minmax. You should be seeing around 18.3mil DPS for Full DPS. However this build seems to take bladestorm and axe mastery to boost damage in blood / sand, but doesn't actually take blood and sand aura. At least not that I can see, so I'm assuming I may of missed something myself.
Build's not great so far. It's flopping hard at T11s. I got lucky and got a 1 divine yellow wand and managed to get a decent weapon (413 max physical and 20% AS) and a a tabula, but any yellow mob or boss is still torture.
Also I don't see how Lacerate of Haemorrhage is worth the insane cost in the market/the lab grind (over 80c right now! terrible for a league starter build's main skill), dropping blood and sand is nice but the bleed DPS gain is not that much (the AS buff is useless because we don't take crimson dance), unless PoB is wilding.
@@huldu The build gets a lot better once you invest in it, it spikes up in power very hard after you get a coil and a good axe. HOWEVER it was very much a bad starter choice, because that early mapping hump is very brutal to get through, you pretty much sloooooowly grind or pray for a good drop to carry you.
@@steel5897 Yeah, I invested in making a new character that was not melee and instantly more enjoyable. Melee is in such a rough spot since you have to "tank" things and that's something I hope they tweak a bit. I'm sure there are godlike builds where people can just stand afk near super mobs and never die.
Don't know if you have already done this, but making a "big changes since X league" video might be popular for returning (melee) players. When you mentioned Uber lab in the beginning, I was reminded of the people who still look for all trials each league XD.
Seriously, I league started a bleed eq glad and comfortable farmed a LOT of content using vaal EQ with a soul ripper. Almost 10m damage without many complications. Was using the rising tempest boots and a mace for the chill mastery.
Followed this, just got to maps and getting absolutely folded in tier 3 maps. Genuinely worst leveling experience I have ever had. Capped resistances, 7 charges, 6 link chest piece, all gems slotted, blood magic, tree exact and still getting folded like a deckchair by rare mobs. BAIT! No wonder you didn’t run it for league start
Dude, I suggest you check your tree again as well as items. I’m doing red maps with only a 4-link and I don’t die but killing certain rares can take a while
Did you overcap the resistances to account for all the rares that inflict exposure, reducing your resistances by 25%? That was my issue and I had to drop my kaoms sign ring for another rare ring with resistances. This build suggests giving up 2 ring slots for 2 endurance charges but it's so hard to res cap without them.
Probably my starter. Great info and ideas as always. I'd wish you luck Ziz, but even if you gave me all of yours, I would still be WAY behind you! Have fun brother, this League looks pretty insane.
Almost 90 with this build, I mean it's whatever nothing really special. I just don't understand who made this guide it seems to me there are few things really off. (I'm not a pro builder or something thats why I tried this guide). For example in Mid-Endgame you have axe mastery point for blood/sand stance even tho you are not using the aura it anywhere. Taking Brine King with Unwavering stance seems weird (maybe for the frozen? even tho you have flasks for frozen/chill duration/effect.) Also new item bases seems way better thant those in build. Can we get some update or something on this one?
Skills and passives which interact with Blood and Sand Stance will use Blood Stance by default if you are not actively in either stance (e.g. if you do not have either of the toggle gems equipped).
And the brine king is preffered when upgraded to imunity to freeze, 50% less chill. You dont care to be imunne to stun if already stunned recently and dead, especially in HC.
massive bait of a build, feels bad to play at endgame where u stay on top of bosses and rare's. super expensive to scale thanks to these vids, leveling isnt that bad but all in all its just a huge let down for me personally and so i wouldnt recommend it.
It's not made for bossing or killing crazy rares. It's made for mapping/league starting to get currency. The 100% damage node on the galdiator is not as good as we hoped so it's bossing potential is not great.
@@toufiq309following the same guide and doing t16’s with ease and don’t even have endgame gear yet. Might want to try importing your character into pob and compare it to the guide one
wtf are you guys talking about, I'm a complete newbie and just followed the guide, bought all my gears with shit I find doing t16 maps every mob gets cleared in 1 slash, big hp bosses can take some time to take down but you are so fucking insanely tankt if you build it right, it doesn't even matter. I've been face tanking everything until now, yet to fight maven tho. pob shows my DPS for one slash is almost 3M, maxed out on all spell blocks, 90% spell suppression. Game feels like on easy mode. skill issue tbh.

this build sent me directly to red maps... U gotta be doing something wrong. DPS isnt high indeed, but you can realocate some passives on dmg too instead
In the video it's said that the ascendancy choice is between Weapon Master and War of Attrition and that we don't use Jagged Technique, but in the PoB it's specced precisely into Jagged Technique, which one is correct? P.S. In fact, the leveling trees seem a little weird, with for example speccing into wicked blade, than out of it on the Uber Lab tree and then back into it on the mapping and bossing trees.
Yeah, this whole ascendancy thing is very confusing to me. The video, the maxroll guide and the PoB all seem to be saying conflicting things so it's quite difficult to know which to choose from..
Hey, first of all thanks for the video, planned on starting it. I just have 1 Question. I understand why you don’t use crimson dance for mapping, because most monsters die with a normal single bleed anyway and it’s just smoother. But shouldnt you swap in crimson dance for pinnacle content? Roughly 2 ApS is 10 bleeds in the time of a normal bleed. You can’t stack more than 8 so you could get to the 8 easily even without constant attacking. I hope it is understandable what I mean. Thanks for any answers and help in advance. Thank you for all you content.

Hi Ziz, I see you use Sunder for a long time in your guide before swapping to Lacerate. I want to play Sunder all the way, will this guide work with that (1h Sunder & Block)??
Tried this as my league starter and honestly, it's quite terrible. Lacerate has a terrible area of effect, seems to have a messed up hit box detection to it. Feels like it passes through half the mobs without effect. Have to stick to the alternatives in the build (which I suppose were added for a reason). Lacerate just doesn't feel viable as a skill.
nah i didn't like the gameplay. its janky and leveling was horrendous, spectral throw literally gave me cancer it was horrible, playing with sunder till maps is also horrible considering the change of gameplay from one to another at the end. i wouldn't recommend this build to newcomers Ziz is a pro and did so much for the community, so im not sassing him at all.

Man this is such a great league starter. No mandatory uniques, no crit and accuracy stats, no mana management, little micro, guaranteed explosion, and tanky. Thanks, I'll definitely be building this! Never played a bleed build before, any recommended atlas trees?
I think expedition and harvest will be amazing with glad
I'm running expedition and harvest as well. A tip for expedition, the "monsters can't block your attacks" Attack Mastery node on the tree makes expedition much smoother imo
These intros are the single best thing about a new season. (also, Im sold on this build)
The Quinn cameo had me rolling xD
Glad your with Maxroll now.
The days before a new league starts and the ziz leaguestarter videos drop always feel a little bit like the days before christmas. 😂
I have been theorycrafting dualwield bleed glad since the big announcement and its shaping up to be absolutely bonkers and its my first proper build i have made myself with the years of experience of playing bleed glad league after league ( i have played about 7+ bleed bow glads )
Im super hyped about that glad is back to its former glory and more
pob please
Would love to see a POB too.
Pob !!
love the guides Ziz, just wanted to point out there is a mistake in your POB for the CWDT setup, a level 1 CWDT cannot trigger a level 10 molten shell. Just wanted to bring it to your attention to correct this for all the new players this league
So how is the correct setup (gem levels)?
@@cloudchamp9622 it should be level 1 cast when damage taken and level 7 molten shell
Thx a lot
This should be higher up, thanks for confirming that we should cap molten shell at level 7 for CWDT to work at level 1.
@@Jangness Happy to help. Don't let this turn you off of Ziz's content though, I'm sure this was just an oversight. He is the best content creator for new players across any game and as a community we are incredibly lucky to have him.
Hey @zizaran this really needs some more explanation. Pohx's guides are loved for a reason, it has all sorts of FAQ questions and extra stuff, Maxroll doesn't compare. 'When/how to switch' is a real unanswered question.
Overall in mapping it's... meh. I found a 5div item early on and have invested a bit in the build but it's kinda slow, kinda clunky, and the low chaos res concerns me.
yeah the build is doesn't not give that wow factor at all when u play it, for me i have invested around 10 div and i am thinking about changing it
YES is it tanky Yes u will have no problem with maps (look for map modifiers and u are fine) but the build overall it lacks a lot of smoothness and speed clearing
The moment I saw the league announcement last week I thought "Lacerate Gladiator it is"!
You can take the 1% spell block per 5 attack block mastery from the deflection wheel. This lets you change the craft on your chest from 7% block to 8% max life.
my favourite time of the year, picking league starters
I was literally planning out a lacerate gladiator. And you bless me with this.Thank you.
This was the biggest bait I've seen so far
Defense - sure
Survivability- sure
Damage - Sub par
Time to put everything together and get half way to what the POB or the deal items needed - Weeks
I don't want to shit on the build but you're way better off with something that has better damage scaling, you'll grow a beard and your first bourn will have his first kid by the time you get your first watchstone
lmfao
As a pohx RF chieftain last league,
You had me at “blood explosion”.
This exactly the sort of guide I was looking for AND it had extra information on maxroll! I really enjoy the maxroll collage and I hope you continue to do so.
Thanks so much!
Maxroll link doesnt even work yet, its not on Maxroll
Nice bot....
Thank you so much for maxroll guide and to everyone involved ty ty gl on league start everyone❤️
never used spectral throw before, god damn those first 12 levels were horrendous
yeah wtf I can't kill anything and I keep dying what am I doing wrong
@@i2pjd6hRw5P I had the same, just had to brute force it lol
I used splitting steel with chance to bleed. Zizarin did the same thing in his livestream on launch day. He used spectral throw for 2 seconds, said that he hates that skill, then threw it away and switched to splitting steel with chance to bleed.
@@brandonsalinas4888 I just went and watched the VOD just to see that and you're right, he didn't even make it out of The Coast with it lmao
Ok I was hating life trying this build leveling at first with spectral what shit skill.
Cheers!

@@wjgoodin Thank you as well, we have a lot of great Lacerate content!
Thanks a lot Ziz, exactly what I was looking for, good luck on a league start :)
I'd like to know as well
I tried doing act 1 with this guide like 10 times tonight and have come to the conclusion that spectral throw feels like ass unless positioning is perfect against a wall, whereas frost blades felt way better immediately. I'm a beginner though.
Yeah,i tried Act 1 yesterday and it does feel horrible without good gear. Might try Frost Blades if I league start with this build. Thanks!
Exactly the build I was hoping for!
Absolutely going with this. I love explode builds. Even if they aren't that great just watch entire groups pop at once is so fun.
Zizaran got that Wolverine hairstyle goin on. He's getting ready for Melee League with an IRL Melee Look.
I was thinking about trying this out on league launch.
Thanks for the info, I'll use it for sure!
That intro is simply diabolical. I love it.
Its crazy that they made a whole ascendancy just for Quin.
@@brandonsalinas4888 Me dumb, you smart. Thanks, amigo! :)
this exactly, i thought today about 2 starter, i played many times in the past lacerate gladi and cyclone slayer, i think both make a comeback. I might play both but gladi first.
thanks for bringing this back, underlines my motivation for this starter.
What is the "Exerted/Boosted calc mode" in configuration you have set it to "max hit" and when i change it to "average" damage is down by 90%
Description of it in PoB is something with lining up all warcries but this build dost not use warcries
Idk what to think can someone explain? looks sus
Classic😂 thought ziz was better than this
It's set to average and nowhere max and average was 90% gap,
The build has an enduring cry in it, for now it's linked with urgent orders but that will be replaced w/ autoexert or something once PoB is updated
@@DimkaTsv Most people only look at the left part so...
If i ever have the free time to play i'll definitely go and play lacerate since it's my first build ever and i like how it looks because it looks so cool
hey i dont know if its asked a lot but when should i switch to lacerate kinda unclear..
after 3rd lab when you get block capped. you switch to shield and one handed axe with lacerate.
i've been using this in the last leagues and i was the only one using it even i knew it was weak, but now i want to play it more. Tnx for the guide!
Does this apply to SST or is that build guide on its way? :)
Following
I can put one of my favorite songs while playing this and scream out of the top of my lungs "MIND OF A, SOUL OF A , HEARTH OF A CHAMPION!"
Flesh and stone is not in the build ? Why is there passive node that grant buff for blood or sand stance if the aura is not in the build ?
Or i missed something x)
Same question here did you find out?
@@goh784 nope man i dont know, it's frustrating as fuck, i will keep it i love to have the yellow lacerate, looks so Nice
@@moupah i think bladestorm makes us being in blood stance for default but idk if is working proprely,
@@goh784 okey ty, if it work tell me ! But u think i will use blood ans sand for the sand vfx ahah
By default when you use an ability that involves Blood/Sand stance, if you dont have the ability to toggle stance from then you are in Blood Stance by default for the sake of the ability. The real question though is why is Bladestorm even in the build and gemmed for support? Should we be using it over Lacerate ay any time?
This looks amazing.
Dropping determ all together... That already shows us that this league's defense layering is going to be so different
so... he`s talking 4 min about taking "Weapon Master" for mapping and "War of Attrition" for bossing and his PoB has "Jagges Technique" choosen for uber lab and mapping :/
check out the PoB notes, he clarifies this
This is what I tried to league start in 3.24 actually.
Is it to simulate aggravated bleed?
The wiki shows it would do 100(base bleed)+300(aggravated)=400, so quadrupling base bleed
You mentioned there was no warcry, but under the midgame item set he uses 2 Kaom’s signs to give enduring cry + 2 max endurance charges
@@TheSaucySensay Let me rephrase that: No warcry that exerts attacks -.-
edit: It was already written like that..."no warcry to exert the attacks" which remains true

@10:37 Skipped the legion because that would have showed the piss poor aoe.
This was my first build! I'm so happy lacerate is playable again! Gonna have to go flicker though because I haven't done that yet.
Is there a reason for the Blood Stance / Sand Stance Axe mastery node?
Am I missing something? Because I don't see where we use the aura.
Edit: Nvm, apparently you are in blood stance by default if you have Bladestorm equipped.
Lacerate Bleed Glad was the first build I ever tried in PoE, glad to see it back on the menu.
that intro was sexy ngl

why DPS down from 17MIl to 4.6mil ????
I’m looking at the min max pob and it shows 20 mil for full dps
@@UnholyDread Did you make som changes in PoB ? I see 4.6mil dmg too when I import the PoB. In min max version its 10.1mil
Finally a nice melee. Can't wait to play this one. I think this league is going to be so much fun with the variety of builds
I ran into the wall on the first few yellow maps so at least you got farther. It's so painful on bosses and some yellow mobs.
@@steel5897 You answered your own question. The trans gem is a huge power spike for the build.
Don't know if you have already done this, but making a "big changes since X league" video might be popular for returning (melee) players. When you mentioned Uber lab in the beginning, I was reminded of the people who still look for all trials each league XD.
would not recommend, zero dps at t16s
Do you have the trans gem and a good weapon? It's some of the highest boss damage I've had this leaguje.
You max supression and 90% block and spellblock?
Skill issue. Ez leveled and ez rushed atlas.
@@brandonsalinas4888 yup over capped resistance switched to a build built around leech and now I’m cruising. Jack the axe
Taking Brine King with Unwavering stance seems weird (maybe for the frozen? even tho you have flasks for frozen/chill duration/effect.)
Also new item bases seems way better thant those in build.
@@Albulinek So you get +30% Damage even when you don't have that gem skill at all? o.O

massive bait of a build, feels bad to play at endgame where u stay on top of bosses and rare's. super expensive to scale thanks to these vids, leveling isnt that bad but all in all its just a huge let down for me personally and so i wouldnt recommend it.
It's not made for bossing or killing crazy rares. It's made for mapping/league starting to get currency. The 100% damage node on the galdiator is not as good as we hoped so it's bossing potential is not great.

I also noticed the same. Any updates on this? Do we supposed to take jagged technique at 2nd lab while levelling?
Yeah, this whole ascendancy thing is very confusing to me. The video, the maxroll guide and the PoB all seem to be saying conflicting things so it's quite difficult to know which to choose from..
Give some credit to Mortom at least before this commentary gets deleted
Hey, first of all thanks for the video, planned on starting it. I just have 1 Question. I understand why you don’t use crimson dance for mapping, because most monsters die with a normal single bleed anyway and it’s just smoother. But shouldnt you swap in crimson dance for pinnacle content? Roughly 2 ApS is 10 bleeds in the time of a normal bleed. You can’t stack more than 8 so you could get to the 8 easily even without constant attacking.
I hope it is understandable what I mean. Thanks for any answers and help in advance.
Thank you for all you content.
As a new player, literally nothing in any guide mentions what class to begin as to get Gladiator. There is no choice for gladiator at the selection screen.

I’ve never run a ziz build, but these I’ll never miss a ziz Intro.
nah i didn't like the gameplay. its janky and leveling was horrendous, spectral throw literally gave me cancer it was horrible, playing with sunder till maps is also horrible considering the change of gameplay from one to another at the end. i wouldn't recommend this build to newcomers Ziz is a pro and did so much for the community, so im not sassing him at all.
