- First step : you need a flat screwdriver and a needle.
Second step : put the needle between the rubber ring and the aluminum to create a space. Put the screwdriver into this space.
Third step : you have to pry slowly with the screwdriver. The grid is glued at the passive speaker, so pull slowly for not bend it.

Do not attempt this removal. I had some gunk stuck in the pinholes of the grill, but I found that removing, and consequently, bending the mesh and stretching the rubber border was not worth it at all. Only remove the mesh if you have to (i.e. if over half of the holes are plugged with sand). Otherwise, just clean the outside and live with it.
OR, you could just be more careful/gentle than the Franciscan here was!

I used a thumbtack to remove the backside between the silicone and the aluminium housing. It works fine.😃

This is a great video but I have say, what the fuck was bose thinking when they put that micro mesh screen, glued to the metal grill on the inside? That thing literally is preventing me from cleaning mine even after taking it out. It actually looks much worse because the micro mesh is just holding the dust in it. If you try peeling it off it's like pulling 10,000 tiny hairs off of it. That was a dumb idea by bose. You damn near need to pressure wash the thing because of that.

donn albert torres No, there is already a sort of joint sticking behind the mesh, so just put the mesh back and press on it to fix it on the seal :)

A simple spray paint for metal
Krylon's metallic leafing pens work great as well. Avoid anything liquidy like oil-based sharpies
