So they use the setting space for the refrence of being in a small space. The alien you see takes codys appearence and kills off everyone, hence cutting off the relationships he has. Such to the lyrics "cutting all of the phony friends i dont need" this song and video is a great metaphor for the idea of the seclusion method introverts use to avoid creating ties to other human beings.
For this video what it could be, anxiety/depression etc can creep up on you anywhere and doing anything from the smallest detail to being around loved ones. In a way it can cause you to lose connection to those around you. It can also be comforting to you ( in the video's case the alien dude) like 'Oh I don't deserve to be happy' 'I won't get hurt if I'm alone' etc and the thoughts can get worse to the point it becomes out of control (the alien dude ripping into the Singer) and can make your relationships with friends/loved ones strained or you lose them entirely ( the singer turning into the alien and killing the members). It's more or less the vibe I was getting watching it. There is also a couple details that caught my attention. 1. The beginning they are celebrating and the singer mentions 10 years. If I'm not mistaken they have been around going on 10 years now. 2. The alarm going off while they are there celebrating. Now that might seem minor art choice BUT going with the theme of the song, I think it is something different. How I mean is again like I said earlier. The smallest detail can set off anxiety including just celebrating with friends (mind immediately jumping into being alert and like "hey something is wrong" etc.) ( they might do a video explaining track by track like they did with their other albums)
I agree this Does sound like something from a boy band but eather way this is one of the best bands of heard in my time ~ what I think the songs about is pretty much Someone is a introvert and kind of starts to close everyone around them out and I'm guessing everyone just kinda gets tired of it and is like well I'm out I'm threw if you don't want me around fine ~ the lyrics kinda insinuate some sort of a senario like this as well some parts in the music video for example "turn off the phone turn on TV, cause Solos the only way I can breathe " and the fact all most everyone seems to die in the video ~ there's not many people in space very lonely as well ~ but that's just my take on it
That's a really interesting analysis, I think I read a few comments on the video page that echo your thoughts so I think I agree. Set it Off does have some really deep songs, that's why I like them, I'm not a huge fan but I do appreciate them
Same here there have been many a time wear I've stumbled across a few songs that have managed to make me tear up a bit ,due to me feeling them on a personal level ~ I'm more than thankful I managed to find these guys ~
The video name is lonely dance and the best way it represent that is being in space and the album midnight is a much darker setting than the rest of the albums and Cody body is taken over by the alien dude and Kills everyone he is with one by one hopefully that helps you
I dont really know what genre is it , but i called it pop punk idk why. Their music is really good tho, but i dont think the official videos make sense 😆

Lol, while I do have a pretty open mind for music, I do agree with you here. If I had to give this a genre it would be "Alternative Nu-MetalCore" it had some of the elements there but the vocal... ehhhhhhh. Ive never actually heard a Cannibal Corpse song... or Priests of Sodom to be honest, so I will have to add those to the queue. I got a business trip later this week so there will be a bit of a content gap sadly :/
