Oh, dear, there are so many things I'd like to talk about, but the moment Whoopi says that Timothy is one of the underrated actors in the world made me feel extremely sad, because it IS true. Though I loved his reaction, he was looking quite embarrassed by her words. A very modest, extremely good-looking man with the voice and tone that make you shiver. Here again it is true. As far as James Bond part is concerned, I'd only say that despite the fact that Sean Connery was the first Bond and his performance was great indeed, Timothy's Bond is realistic and sentimental, close to Fleming's. And I appreciate it. On the whole, I have a feeling Tim wasn't at ease during this interview. I wish I could see "Love Letters" in the theatre... heard so much about it. He is NOT under-rated. An Aries with moon I Scorpio is a confident person. He loves acting - Aries is impatient, it's torture to sit around waiting years to start the next project (3rd Bond). He is top notch in everything even if the series or movie didn't deserve him. He's done quite well in film and on stage. Still acting at 74 as the Chief in Doom Patrol. What an incredible mix of parts, never pigeon-holed into one character. I like it that he didn't sell out as a generic box office draw. P.S. From what I heard, they did have a thing. 🤔🤗😍

That's all. Simple as that. It's not a reproach to him. He makes the best out of it and enjoys every part he plays. And we enjoy watching him on screen.
Couldn't agree more - Timothy Dalton is HUGELY underrated - not a single award or nomination and he should have had so many more great roles in his day. Think of how many bad actors have gotten Oscars and someone of his caliber has not even been nominated. The phenomenal promise that he showed as Rochester in Jane Eyre and Phillip in The Lion in Winter failed to continue to develop got lost under the bulk of more and more mediocre work. Tragic!
He looks so great here. Its a shame he didnt use this look and stubble for License to Kill. What were they thinking with Bond and his style in that movie!!!!
Agreed, a third James Bond movie him would have been great. Heck, if things had turned out differently and Roger Moore left sooner, Timothy Dalton might have done at least four or five movies as 007.
He was still young enough to do more Bond films the legal issues with the studio were resolved in 1992 they still waited more than two years before making GoldenEye and then the producers that took over for they Dad Albert broccoli wanted to start fresh a new director a new Bond and new writers it's a shame because he would have been so Great 📽️

Now, we all have a dark side, but if you watch Dalton in his interviews, he comes across as a refined, deep thinking, and soulful person, a classy gentleman in every respect. So he hides his dark side very well.
