      @@NanoTankReefer just means, do you add them now or stock more and add? As the more you bring on, the possibility for another aiptasia growth is high .nudis deffo will do the job but die without any. Look forward to the update!

    • @NanoTankReefer
      @NanoTankReefer  3 года назад +1

      I actually have a bit of a plan 😬. I'm going to attempt to breed them. I just need a whole bunch of aiptasias in a separate holding tank to breed them in. It'll be a documented series on my channel

  • @BeardedReef
    @BeardedReef 3 года назад +2

    Brilliant video yet again mate, lucid reefs 3d printed products are amazing, I love his work, its made a big difference to the look of your tank having the level up a bit, the new mushrooms are really nice!
    I used the Aptasia x in my tank and it worked well but I did only have one, be interesting to see how you get on with the Nudis.
    I think If you were to increase the lights a bit then the zoas would look incredible!! Would be great to see the tank under blues again if possible, I bet it really pops!
    Looking forward to seeing the next update on this tank! 👍

    • @NanoTankReefer
      @NanoTankReefer  3 года назад

      Top work from Lucid! Fits like a glove and completely changes the look of the tank. I'm really happy with the mod.
      I'm increasing lighting 2-3% per week until I hit 35%. I'll give it a week or 2 after and see how they are looking. I've also just realised I have a salinity issue 🙈 I've gotten so used to having the Profilux 4 monitoring my main tank I have overlooked the most basic requirement in my nano 😂
      I'll dedicate some blue time for the next update. I always forget 🤦🏻‍♂️

    So Hows the sexy shrimps that were with the rock flower originally? And also wheres the other rock flower? There were 2 flowers when the tank was setup right?

  • @richardportelli1983
    @richardportelli1983 3 года назад +1

    try kalk paste and make sure you completely smother the aptasia or it will just spread through the tank.

    • @NanoTankReefer
      @NanoTankReefer  3 года назад +1

      I want to 100% eradicate them in this tank. Since it's too small for filefish so nudis are my best option to get rid for good

    • @richardportelli1983
      @richardportelli1983 3 года назад +1

      @@NanoTankReefer peppermint shrimp can work also. Kalk paste has always worked for me though if I catch them early.

    • @NanoTankReefer
      @NanoTankReefer  3 года назад +1

      I've tried peps in my reefer bud and they don't touch the aiptasia. Unfortunately I think I've left it too late to keep on with killing them individually 😭 for every 1 I kill I find 2 more a week later. I just want to eradicate them for good now

    you can weave a black zip tie through the overflow openings then snip the ends to raise the water level in the tank. I did it months ago. free option for anyone interested

    I’m having the same issue the overflow is not skimming the surface correctly I might grab one of those I think that will fix it … how has it been?

    • @NanoTankReefer
      @NanoTankReefer  3 года назад

      Sorry for the slow reply, they seem to be working great. I don't think they will help with the surface skimming ability though. Are you running the mighty jet return pump?

  • @ncpk1234
    @ncpk1234 3 года назад

    I was looking at Murphy aquatics and he kills aiptasia with vinegar in a pipette directly on them worth a look?

    • @NanoTankReefer

      Tanks mate 😁
      Yeah I've heard of using vinegar, being such a small tank I'm at risk of a big dip in pH using vinegar. It's very acidic, I'll keep killing off the odd few I see until I source some berghia nudibranch

      I'm not massively concerned about Dinos when I still have nitrate and phosphate readings but I hear ya dude. The last thing I need it's to bottom them out and get Dinos. For now I will calm down on the waterchanges and try and raise up nutrients a little

    • @starseed8087
      @starseed8087 3 года назад

      @@NanoTankReefer Of course you need an anemone, in the ocean there are anemones without clownfish, but there are no clownfish without anemones. Often they take euphyllias or soft corals if there is no anmeone, but they are not available in the right size in this tiny tank either. Well but I already notice. here the ego is in the foreground and not the well-being of the fish. Sad that
