Thank you for your honesty and transparency. Affiliate marketing is no walk in the park, it is very very hard and takes skill and a ton of work. 99.9% of these youtube gurus keep on earning the hate, and deservingly so. I hate the fact that they get so many views and make a good living on youtube lying to people and their clickbait titles. Plus they are selling very expensive courses with all fluff.
We need more honest people like you exposing these low lifes. Thanks again!

Thank you for your direct honesty! It's very refreshing. Though I don't aspire to make affiliate marketing my career, today as I was again helping someone with advice and giving them links to products they will need to care for their new rescue kitten, products that I use myself and recommend frequently to the people that come to me needing help.. It occurred to me that I should probably sign up as an affiliate just to have links to the same products, but will put a little money in my pocket, while I do what I already normally do.. Thank you for your video! 😊

I've been a hard worker , like most, but now unemployed as of April. I'm going crazy. I worked 134 hours every 2 weeks and now I have to work at home I started affiliate marketing and I'm exactly at the point your talking about in this video. A creator offered to help me when I asked him advice on selling automation marketing and when I showed him the product, he decided never to get back to me and I see him on a few times a week selling it. I feel cheated. I spent 3 days on an ad and I really like it but.i can't get it to play as a slideshow. Ugh I am applying to 60 some jobs a day, no exaggeration. I love marketing. I'm taking classes to learn more on Google skill shop and not once made a dime. I'm afraid I'm going to have to give it up. But you all, he is really telling you what it's really like. I'm living it lol

Don’t give up. Even if you only invest an hour or two a day,, it will accumulate over time, and you will build your skill and knowledge base. It is good that you like love marketing. I like 2 things about affiliate, marketing, first, I like the concepts, I like that my part is connecting the vendor to the customer, and not having to worry about other aspects of business, such as inventory, product creation, or customer service. Connect them get your commission and get out of there. Lol. The other aspect that I like about affiliate marketing as a beginner is online business. Is the fact that I can focus on one primary aspect of business, which is marketing and advertising, which will usually include many sub categorie skills such as copywriting and persuasion, video ad creation, and paid ads management (which I was pleasantly surprised that I actually enjoyed, especially the creative aspects, such as making video ads). The way I see it if I can master online marketing and advertising. this is a PRIMARY money making skill, and if I do decide to branch out into other aspects of business in the future, such as making my own product, or engaging an e-commerce for example, I will already have a huge advantage, because I will be a master of marketing and advertising.

Lady you need a real person who is doing the do, talk on the phone or partner with. Yep! Partner with for a portion of your hard work to build a list. My teacher asked for product ideas and he reviewed them and if they were good he made us create the sales page and the email sequence etc and setup the W+ contract and uploaded and posted etc etc. I loved it when my phone kept going ding ding ding! That’s what you need or stand in front of a video tell us who what why etc and make payment easy! I dislike payment systems that suck! Make it easy!

    Great content! I'll add a rebuttal to 4 & 5 however...
Take it from someone that's won awards for building funnels/websites whatever you want to call them....
No, you don't need them to start out. It's definitely something you want to add in at some stage, but think of it like this...
What's easier? Going and getting an affiliate link and figuring out how to get eyeballs on it, or getting your affiliate link, learning about funnels/webistes, finding the best provider for where you're at, building them out, testing them and so on...
I'm a massive fan of building in layers.
As for high ticket stuff, definitely not the only way to go. Like you say, the bulk of this industry is fueled by low ticket referrals etc.
However, the question folks need to consider is whether they want to build an audience/figure out how to drive mass trafffic or understand how to chat to a few folks and slowly, but surely build out their ecosystem?
Love the content. Like you say, this shit is hard, but soo worth it.
    Cheers

I finally made my first sale in 2021 and I have recieved a few sales but not consistently. Let me to you its COMPLETELY HARD. The constant posting, getting denied in a few programs, learning the ins and out of internet marketing, and some affiliate programs get canceled. And also investing on tools its gut wrenching because there is no income consistency.

Im closing in on my first 90 days since starting my affiliate marketing journey and would have to say that this is all truth. Fortunately, I had a hunch going in that it would take a lot more work than what many of the online gurus were suggesting, especially if I hope to learn the ins and outs to create long-term success. This hunch helped me to ignore the 'get rich quick' ads and stay focused on actually learning the needed skills. After having worked on it at least 1-4 hours every single day, I am now very close to my first launch now after having identified my niche and building copywriting around it (this consumed the most time). I appreciate the honesty because I believe that is key to having long-term customer value (repeat customers). I also don't feel as bad for taking so long to launch 😅.

It reminds me of a RUclipsr I recently saw. She said sign up for free to one of the websites she recommended 😅 it was not for free. A lot of the things they say doesn’t translate to what they’re actually doing. You are spot on! ❤

So I know how to make landing pages, make websites (full stack), do graphic design, edit videos, social media stuff... But I've never really tried it because it still seemed challeging. I can't imagine not knowing these things, I know these things cause I was interested in it since my childhood. I think one of the main thing I and others struggle with is consistency, which really just relates to how you manage your time. WOuld be cool to see in a quick video how someone starts and what they focuss on step by step, an beyond the whole setup phase, what they actually do after all that's done

Hi Alston, new to your page and yes I have subscribed. I'm enjoying the content and your willingness to share knowledge. Any suggestions on building a website or landing page? What should the site entail? What do these companies want to see on your site? This is all new to and for me, but the more I know the better I'll be when I execute.

thank you for this. I agree, if you are not self-motivated nor have a high work-ethic being self-employed whether part-time or full-time is not for you. I've always been the highly independent employee with ideas on how to improve systems etc that managers hate to deal with because I am the proverbial squeeky wheel. Therefore; self-employment and running my own business(s) is actually the best thing for me. I need that kind of a challenge. I came here looking for ideas on how to start with affiliate marketing. I do tons of free endorsements of products and services so why not get a piece of the sale?? Anyway, thanks a bunch for your content. :)

Great video, appreciate your honesty and openness about starting down the route of affiliate marketing. I have just started on the journey and could not agree with you more about the time and effort you have to put into basic research and the acquisition of new skills and I consider myself tech-savvy!

Thank you. Finally someone says the truth. All those “gurus” saying it’s easy, blah blah. They have a huge following already and they use that to leverage for themselves.

Thank you for this video. You have cleared my vision after years of playing cat and mouse with all the so called gurus. The information overload has only created a blinding fog. All I have really achieved is learning bits of affiliate marketing yet I have failed to build a solid framework to work with. The one thing that has stayed steady with me is a keenness and an attraction to affiliate marketing Time to stop chasing promises and shiny objects and to start focusing. Inspirational video.

Very well made, and really informative video. We all know that affiliate marketing is a proven business model, and the main thing you need is a good presence on different social media, but if your account is brand new you might have troubles reaching your full potential. You need popularity from the start and there are certainly some services that can make the whole process much more faster and enjoyable.

I've been saying this for so long. I have also made videos on it but I don't get as much reach. It's so frustrating that people fall for these lies possibly getting into debt along the way and these gurus are laughing all the way to the bank.

Hi Alston, Thank You very much for actually explaining the truths about affiliate marketing and not telling us the same lies that we have heard a million times. I appreciate you and your content so much am grateful that I started subscribing to your channel. I have been on this long drawn out process and journey for a while now with affiliate marketing and even paid for courses that all say the same thing and make everything sound like a dream that is guaranteed to come true. I have also worked for my fair share of MLM's and I think about how similar their punch lines are to reel you in especially when you are in the lower income bracket. Also I would love to see more of your videos and get a special "pin" on the globe. LOL Halifax, NS. Canada
