Thank you so much for your tip. I kept spraying inside of my hognoses cage and she did a full and complete shed. I also kept spraying inside her cage as well and it worked.
Yeah, I'd counsel you to place a humid hide in their enclosure. That's what I have in both my Hognose's enclosure and have never had stuck shed. Not once. I have real rocks in there. They are not not heavy but are piled in a corner and they bask on there too. Also, I have Coco Fiber as substrate which is great. You want to give your Hognose (at the very least) 3 inches of depth to burrow in. Mine create burrows. When they are going into shed, I will spray the cooler end of the enclosure and the Hognoses know. They will choose to go into that side the moment they need to. Not dripping wet. Just damp. I pray that edifies and helps someone.
Hi I just got my baby hognose he's my first ever snake and he's in his first shed with me I've been so nervous thinking something will go wrong and I was wondering if having a hallow log im the tank will help with the process at all?
You'll be fine.. Main thing is to make sure the warm side is around 88-90, and the most important part is that the humidity level is over 40%... If you need more humidity, just use a spray bottle of water and spray your hoggie down a few times a day. After of course, once their eyes clear up, which is about a week after they go into shed. Nothing to be nervous about.
I’m just got my first hognose and I didn’t rly know you had to have anything like a humidity level or cocoa fiber. Idrk if I’m doing it right, she has rly “zombie” eyes rn so does that mean she’ll shed in a day or smth?
My hognose stopped eating end of February, I was worried that something was wrong, so I took him to the vet(March 26th) Then 2 days later he went into blue. Is it normal?
Do juvenile hognose snakes also "crackle" while moving around when they're about to shed? I've had my baby since mid January and he started his zombie mode on the 8th of April but i still haven't seen signs of him going to shed, i do notice he's more active to movement and yawns allot more. He's my first hognose snake so I'm a bit nervous if he has shedding issues 😅
During the soak, I find that putting a rock or other object the snake can hold onto helps reduce the snake from moving around so much.

Oh nice, glad to hear.. you’re welcome, and thanks for the comment.
@@HogginOut your welcome. Hope you are doing well with your hoggies.
I was just about to research this! Thanks Joe

He's shedding. Yes, normal. It's also common for hogs to go off feed for 2-3 months at a time. Hope this helps. Cheers
@HogginOut okay, thank you so much! I did my research I swear! Lol I think I did too much research from too many sources that information got muddy.

Check the substrate.. should be in there.. he should have shed by now, if not any day.
@@HogginOut he just shed earlier today! My mom send a picture of his shed so I'll check if he has any stuck shed on his tail or eyecaps!
