Fantastic video I rarely leave any comments because I’m lazy but the video you have put your part one and part two were really really helpful for me despite I’ve been playing cricket for 40 years
Hi @sandeepkhare4810, thank you for taking the time to watch my videos, and leave a comment! I’m so glad they are helpful, and amazing that you’ve played cricket for 40 years!
Excellent tutorial. Very easy to follow and not rushed. The the way the session is broken down into the key parts really helps you concentrate on any flaws in your action. Keep up the great work.
This series is the first thing that has allowed me to make sense of spin bowling (as a leftie as well), thanks for making these mate greatly appreciated
Thank you for explaining it clearly. I didnt know why my balls weren't spinning. Now i know that i have a problem in my action that i need to change. Thank you so much for this informative video ! You have helped many cricketers like me on how to bowl offspin properly
Sir iam fan of your information .so much informatics about off spin bowling it is easy to understand and help to understand others. Iam so much blessed having this video as a professional coach .thank you make leg spin video and many more like this.
Great stuff man! Gonna take your points and try it out in the nets. Been struggling with beamers and bowling some short stuff during the weekend matches.
Awesome stuff Mayuran! Let me know how you get on. Full tosses and drag downs happen, so don’t worry. It’s part of the process in learning the balance between the two. Stay relaxed in your arms, but make sure you commit to spinning the ball, never just place the ball there. Good luck
@@InFormCricketI’ve just been bowling in the nets, it’s slowly getting there. I feel like I’m releasing the ball before I’m planting my front foot. My peers have been saying that I’m lobbing the ball instead of releasing it later and my momentum isn’t going through my action.I guess I have to work on that. Will let you know of the outcome. Thanks from a left arm spinner in Malaysia.
@@mayuranjayatharan7048 If you're releasing the ball before your front foot is planted, this means our weight is back. We must transfer our weight onto the front foot in order to get balanced, to then release the ball. When you land on your front foot, try and be in a 'starfish' position, where your arms are stretched out wide at shoulder height, and your legs are spilt and both on the ground, creating the star shape. Then transfer your weight onto your front foot to release (and use your front arm!). Hope makes sense. Good luck
I had problems with release point, front foot landing and not a complete pivot action, because of these flaws I miss my line and length sometimes the ball might spin or it doesn't have spin at all. I had the tendency to bowl beamers ,low tosses . But this video helped me to know where I was wrong and also to rectify it.. Thanks for such a video bro 🔥🔥
Glad it has helped Agni - bowling full often means our weight is back on release, so try to make sure you are really driving your head forward towards the target, and your weight is fully on your front leg on release. Hope this helps.
@@agniraj9836 Thanks for this. The idea is to make Part 3 which is Run up and Entry to the crease, and then Part 4 which is variations and how you change speed.
Thanks Mithun! The next part is the series will be run up and entry to the crease. But in the meantime, your run is there to help you build momentum towards the target, and helps with your rhythm and timing. Make sure your jump into the crease is relatively straight to help your momentum going forwards. And jump so your body has time to get side on before you bowl. Hope this helps
Hi first of all amazing videos. I am learning to spin but most of by deliveries stay flat and skids on. I get wickets but i want to turn the ball more. Instead almost all my deliveries become armers. I have decent accuracy but can’t spin the ball as much.
Thanks for the comment @melvinpaul85, and thank you for watching the video! I’m working on a video about line and length, but generally you want to bounce the ball 4 metres away from the stumps, this is deemed a good length where the batter can’t smother the spin on the front foot from the crease, and the ball can threaten the stumps if the batter goes on the back foot. Hope this helps
How to identity the ball which is coming in (arm ball) and which goes away or even straight one. What are the clues or hints. When left arm baller bowl to right handed I’m struggling to get those. 😢
When your front foot lands we want our hips to be pointing 45 degrees from the batter. So the hips are not pointing down the wicket (that’s on release), or 90 degrees from the batter (ie belly button pointing towards extra cover/mid wicket). Hope this helps
Back foot contact is important. You have to be strong in your legs and core. Just not to jump high, and also sideways, as this makes landing in a stable position much harder. So practice jumping straight and land on your back foot with no wobble. Then practice jumping straight landing on back foot then quickly transferring onto front foot in a straight line. Good luck
Thanks for the comment! Your non bowling arm does help with line and length - LINE = the direction it slices down in aligns your shoulders with the target, and LENGTH = helps get your weight forward over your front leg to get a high release point above your head. Try to make sure your non bowling arm copies the same motion you want the ball to have in flight towards the batter. In other words, make sure your non bowling arm goes UP towards the sky, then OUT towards the batter. Hope this helps
When i do bowling practice in nets In starting my finger make good grip on ball and good rotation but after some time my finger get free means losse and i can't rotate the ball
In order to get the completed action you put all the sequences of movements together. Back foot contact -> transition -> front foot contact -> release position -> follow through. Try and make it a smooth movement between each stage.
hi i am left arm off spinner my ball not turns much and does not have speed i ask from senior they said to keep hands straight try use all power from shoulder wrist straight can you tell any solution and they said rightor not
Hi Riyaz, thanks for taking the time to comment. The ball might not be spinning for a couple of reasons. Firstly, the seam needs to dig into the surface to spin. So 1) the ball needs to land on the seam while rotating, and 2) the pitch needs to allow the seam to dig in (flat hard pitch won’t dig in as much, so won’t spin as much). So firstly work out whether you’re hitting the seam. If you’re hitting the seam at the ball isn’t spinning, it may be the pitch being too hard, or it may be that there aren’t many revolutions (rotations) on the ball. In order to get more revolutions on the ball, we use our whole body to pivot and use our wrist and fingers to spin the ball at the release point. Make sure your body is rotating 180 degrees when bowling. In other words, your body faces out before release, and then rotates around and faces the other direction after release. Hope this helps
@@InFormCricket yea my ball is rotating few days ago but after holidday my start coming in for right hand batters i try to solve that problem then my line and length and rotation get poor my seam position is good i can see in air ball rotating but turning ANd pitch good for spinners because same day right arm off spinner take many wickets there
Obviously the more you bowl the more your body understands how to move and the sequence of bowling becomes instinctive. So practice as much as you can, but with good habits and focus. Figure out what works and what doesn’t work. In regards to bowling a good length, this comes from having a repeatable action, and the release point being at the top of your action. Try to make sure your head is over your front leg when releasing the ball, and driving towards the target. Put some cones down 4 metres from the stumps, and learn how to land the ball on that good length area. Hope this helps
I am a left arm spinner but most of the times I bowl to the right hander either outside off Or into legs but I am not able to bowl within stumps Kindly guide
Usually to do with either direction of your jump into the crease (not jumping straight), or by your front arm going around your body meaning your back points towards the batter on back foot contact. Try jumping straight and working on your front arm going up and out towards the stumps - let your front follow follow.
