    I had a 04 silver, bought in dec 06 on Cal. Used as trade in on 2018 F150. I now have a torch red 02, bought from my neighbor for $4500. 123k miles. Did a complete suspension overhaul. Still runs great. I had a 65, 83, and a retromod 57 with many mods.

    I'm driving a black 2002 right now, taking care of it for a friend. Seriously thinking of buying it. It's incredibly impractical for my needs, but... I'm smitten. 😆

    Ford dealers took deposits but it took TWO YEARS to deliver the first cars after its auto show intro, which as Ford's icon car had less horsepower than some base Mustangs.

    I have this beauty 2003 in Mountain Shadow with the bronze original leather seating.. I love her as she is smooth and can giddy up when necessary.❤ In this year there were only around....23,000 manufactured. So she's rare. Wherever I pull in, people start drooling...lol. It's fun.😊 She's garaged with a cover to protect the leather from cracking. I never leave her alone out in the sun.... always under a tree. Yours is lovely......they are in demand and are popular at car shows. I paid more than blue book but she is WORTH IT. Ladies love my car and the port windows remind them of Suzanne Somers in that movie.... American Graffiti. Her car was of course, not the retrobird, but I found those rather tiny for my taste. She is rear wheel drive which I rather like. My dream car.❤Yes I am female so if you are looking for something very special for your woman, she will love it💯 guaranteed.❤❤❤❤

    why do the inside views show a porthole window that is not on the convertible top?

    • @rocksolidmotorsports
      @rocksolidmotorsports  5 месяцев назад +1

      We put the factory hardtop (that has porthole windows) back on the Thunderbird for the test drive. During the walk-around, we had the soft top up to show its condition and had the hardtop behind the car on its storage rack.

    Really like the look of this car unfortunately I test drove 2 worst suspension plus gutless bunch of rattles under the dashboard my 2007 Jeep with full of road suspension 35” all terrain tires drives 💯 smoother and yes I tested 2 one with 24k miles the other 45k miles many red flags and issues.

    How reliable is that engine?

    • @rocksolidmotorsports
      @rocksolidmotorsports  5 месяцев назад +3

      The 3.9 liter V8 in these Thunderbirds is actually a pretty reliable engine. They do seem to have a problem with the individual ignition coils overheating and prematurely going bad but they are relatively inexpensive to replace.

      Ford makes a very good V8...I know it's all plastic craptastic looking under the hood but be assured under all that is a V8 with good bones..

      Engine is based on a Jaguar/ Lincoln design. Very reliable in my experience.
