Sandra, I have been hoping that you would do a closet tour! It is so interesting to see everything you have and how you organize it. I have a lot of clothes, shoes and handbags and I am trying to declutter. I did just pull out and donate about 10 pairs of shoes. Most of them had high heels which I don''t really wear anymore. I have only two tiny, narrow closets, and those had to be added to my Victorian cottage, which had none at all originally. So I change my clothes out every three-month season, leaving my silk clothes in the closets, where they are most protected from moths (with lavender hanging sachets). The rest of my current season’s clothes have to go on rolling racks, covered with white cotton sheets to protect them from sun and dust. I have a very dusty location as the front of my house isn’t paved, I hope to add a sidewalk someday. Storage is a huge problem, there were no linen, coat, vacuum/broom closet, pantry, garage shelves or any other storage in this small house. We added a total of seven closets, but none are on the main living floor except the two small bedroom closets. There is simply no floor or wall space to add them, the largest room is only about 7 x 9 feet, with four window or door openings. It’s hugely inconvenient to go up or down a floor to get stuff, my next home will be a modern one with a huge walk-in closet!
My house has built-in wardrobes in every room, however one of the wardrobe's door is the entry for bathroom, so, it's a very small wardrobe. I needed to add this one so that I could organize all my things. I hope you can get your walk-in closet, it's also my dream!
I also thought that I should have shoes in several colors with matching belt and bag. I’m 50 now and I have been collecting good quality for many years. Along this journey, I changed, trends changed and I end feeling sorry of saying bye to the pieces that made me happy once. The only problem is that they are not ME anymore and I also end feeling overwhelmed. I already started with the donating but I’m still not where I wish to be 😁. Baby steps 😅.

That's something modern architectures don't do anymore. In Portugal it was the same, they placed a bathroom which access is through a living room.
