OK I was not expecting that, that was wild 😂 We need The Candle Enthusiast ASMR: Dining Edition. I would happily fall asleep to you asking if anything on the menu strikes my fancy. Lol. And I wasn't prepared for the swimming that was too funny. Thanks for the entertaining video!
Emily, thanks for sharing all of this. Ha, I would be happy to introduce "dining with Shane", but I warn you, I chew loudly. Again, thanks for watching and commenting!
You're right, Shane, "It never gets old." Your Red Lion Inn videos are some of my favorite videos that you have made. I love the New England "feels", the history, a good mantle and the humor. I didn't want this video to end! Thank you!
Madeline, thank you so much for this! Really. It's always a bit scary editing such a long piece; I always fear losing everyone's attention. Your comment was very rewarding for me to read. Thanks again!
As a young woman, I lived on the 2nd floor of the Seven Arts Antiques. A very dear woman by the name of Harriet Sossner owned the building: she became a mother figure to me, she was so beloved by everyone in town. I had many cherished friends there…..oh the amazing stories to tell, many years ago…
Hooray, i love these Red Lion Inn videos! I agree, a mantle is a special thing indeed. Clove Gum is my favorite! Highly entertaining this was. As always.
I triple dog dare you Shane! 😂👍🏻 I am SO glad that you’re back! This video was both heartwarming and hilarious. Thank you for again bringing your unique vision of beauty, warmth and humour. I’ve missed you. ❤️
Such a great video. Took me back to our trip in 2018 we did, because your first video inspired us to go. My favorite of all times: dinner with the guy in the robe. Cracks me up everytime. So sad to hear the Yankee Candle Store is gone and so thankful we visited before.
Thanks so much Claudine! Yes, that original Stockbridge video has always been one of my favorite. That's why I couldn't pass up on the opportunity to make a follow up video. Visiting is always such a charming experience. And I'm so honored to know that I inspired you guys to go. Thanks for your continued kindness and friendship!
Thanks so much, man! I hope you guys decide to plan a trip sometime. I truly can't compare the Red Lion to anywhere else. Always a unique and beautiful experience. Be good. Talk soon.
Shane this is some of your best work. Cinematography was amazing, the narration, and the tongue in cheek humor kept me totally engaged. Did you self film the entire piece?
Jordan, thanks so much for the kind words here. It's always challenging editing such long pieces; I fear losing everyones attention. Yes, I was solo for this one, just like always. Just me and my tripod. Thanks again!
I know, right?! I've been trying to get into that studio space for years, and I just so happened to get very lucky on this particular trip. I was able to get ahold of the owner and they graciously allowed me the time to visit and film. Very sad about Yankee though. I have to say, Main Street just doesn't feel the same without it. Thanks for watching and commenting, Ann! Hope you're well.
Great video as always and an amazing adventure. I love the extra camera work that you do that views other angles of things. Like the show outside the window when your looking at the little village you put up on the fireplace. Just always relaxing vibes from your videos.
I very much appreciate your kindness here. Yes, I'm always trying to find unique places to put the camera in hopes that it makes everyone feel immersed in the experience. Thanks again!
Ha, I felt bad poking fun at that bathroom, but everything about it just made me laugh. Honestly, it just makes the room even more charming. Thanks, Emily!
*Great video of a great adventure! My favorite part was the swimming in the pool. I did not see that coming. **28:25** "Come on flashlight, guide us to safety." Bravo! Two thumbs up!!! :)*
Thanks so much, Adam (for everything)! I'm glad you got a kick out of the pool. It was definitely an uncomfortable experience, jumping in that water, but I knew I could't pass up the opportunity. Hope you're well... and thanks for all of your help making these videos happen. 🙏
Your tribute to the Yankee store experience was really nice… I was visiting Lenox and Stockbridge last Tuesday and had some amazing blueberry pancakes in that cafe! I didn’t realize Norman Rockwell’s studio was just above. Great to “visit” again with you!
No joke, your comment just made me so hungry for blueberry pancakes. That must have been a perfect day. Yep, the upstairs apartment (the last I heard) was available to rent on AirB&B. I might need to plan a stay there one of these days. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Hi Shane great video !! what a beautiful place thanks for sharing us your experience, welcome back!! 😀❤️❤️❄️ Also, nice touch when you left a tart wax in honor of the building that Yankee candle has closed, you are right YC is and it has been beautiful part of our memories. 🕯
Thank you so much, Laura! Yes I was so happy that I thought to bring that tart (you may have noticed, but it was a special tart... One of my favorite retired scents). So glad to be back and to be reading all of these beautiful comments!
Reviewing comments we realized had not posted a note!!! Yikes! Great video. You capture your adventure and the Inn perfectly. If we had the $$$, we would fly across the country just to stay there for a week in the Fall. But we don’t so your Red Lion videos will be watched over and over! Thanks Shane!
Thank you so much for your continued kindness. Yes, there are so many place I would love to visit too, so I'm so glad that I get to share these moments/experiences. It truly is incredibly rewarding. Thanks again!
I'll take fun weirdo any day, thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed this video (thank you for sharing). I hope you get a chance to visit Stockbridge one of these days... it's always a special destination. Thanks again!
Hi... I'm a new viewer. What an incredible video!❤..... I really hope you continue. It seems maybe you are taking a break. You really have a knack for this. Anyhow, Happy 2024 and hope to see you around here in the future. I would love a weekend at this place, what memories a person could make here.
So cool! Yeah, I was kind of disappointed in myself that I wasn't familiar with that album (I love Ella). I'll have to give it a listen next season. Thanks so much for your kindness, for watching and commenting!
It sure is. Main Street just doesn't feel the same without it. I'm grateful for the memories. Thanks for watching and commenting, Diane! Hope you're well.
This was a fun trip....Santa is rubbing off on you...In a few more years, your beard may be the same color as his.....I thought you were bringing in Luminara candles to put into the fireplace....What a surprise to see the town buildings....I was watching over your shoulder as you were talking about the food on the menu....Waiting for the robed man to appear again....lol...I love gin too....I actually like trading out the vodka in a Moscow Mule with Gin...So much more flavor....You need to try Q spectacular Ginger Beer and Gin...There is a kick in that Ginger Beer from chili pepper, coriander and cardamom....Just don't inhale as the bubbles pop from pouring or you may have a coughing fit but once it settles it is so delicious...You took the polar plunge?! What a crazy man...LOL Is that proper pool attire???You need to come to Bemidji and jump in the lake when they do it here....Thanks for sharing your experience....I have missed them so much.
Oh, wow! Thanks for all of this, Ann! Nothing beats a Moscow Mule, especially if it's on the drier side. And yes, the beard is getting a bit out of control; I have a habit of letting grow when it gets colder. My pleasure sharing! Thanks again for watching and leaving such a fun comment to read. 🙏
Spent a fair amount of time in Stockbridge and must say that an evening meal at the Dining Room (NOT the Den) then sitting out on the porch on the rocking chairs is truly one of the most relaxing experiences one can have. Quiet small town tranquility.
Thanks, Pat! Yeah, I wish I had had the foresight to include Rockwell's studio on the museum property. I promise to document that one of these days (I'm due for a visit at the museum anyway). And yes, it was incredible to visit the old studio on Main Street. I had been wanting the chance to do that for years. I really lucked out on this trip; I was able to get ahold of the owner of the building. they graciously let me have plenty of time to visit and to film. Last I heard, the space has become available on AirB&B. I may have to do that one of these days. Thanks again for watching and commenting, Pat!
Such a gorgeous and picturesque town. I was sad to hear Yankee is gone. Too bad Santa couldn’t take a dip in the pool too. Great job on the editing and you got some great camera angles. I’m sure you put a lot of work putting this together and it paid off. Amazing video.🤗🤗❤️
Thank you so much for all of your kindness here, Stephanie! Yes, this one took a little extra elbow grease to make; both in the filming and in the editing... but I'm so glad you enjoyed!
Nope, I was alone for this one. Unless you mean Santa and I (this footage is 15 months old). The Shrine of the Divine Mercy; I'm going to have to look this up... I don't think I've ever been. I'm always looking for new things to do in Stockbridge, so thank for the suggestion. Thanks for watching and commenting, Eric! Hope you're well!
@@TheCandleEnthusiast Yeah, it has cool albeit religious statues and nice grounds. It looks like it is about five minutes away. Not sure if it would make great video material, but would probably be an interesting free thing to visit.
I got snowed in there in 2019. Almost went into a ditch from a snow storm that started and 18 inches later. I stopped there because the thruway to get on the 90 was closed.
Love love love the video! But please check for Bed Bugs. The Inn is Gorgeous but unfortunately they get carried in by guests. Has nothing to do with the Inn itself. We were going to say there ourselves but decided against it. Please be careful with this issue.
Definitely great words of advice. Thankfully I've never run into that experience before. They can be found in the most unlikely places. Thank you so much for your kind words, for watching and commenting!
@@TheCandleEnthusiast exactly. My wife’s Aunt went to WDW years ago. They had them in their hotel room and carried them home. They contacted Disney and they refunded their whole trip. Every time we go away we always check our room. The bed the furniture everything. We Don’t Ever want to go through that hell again!
2024 and came back to this video for the “robe guy”. It never gets old 😂
The robe guy!
yep :)

The pool stuff was like watching Ferris Bueller's Day Off. "You're Insane!"
Love this it's so cozy to watch, I feel like I was there with you. The hotel is beautiful.
Thanks, Michelle. That's always my goal, so thank you for sharing (and for watching)!
This was fun and relaxing!
