USA 1-2. That was amazing! I seriously don’t think that will ever happen again in the history of men’s diving. Especially not the way China is now dominating the sport.
Do you think he is the best divers of all times or of his times? Present Day Cao Yuan has won 3 Olympic Gold, 3 world Championship gold, 5 world cup gold and many other silver and bronze international medals, on 3m and 10m just like Greg.. But doing dives that are so much harder to do.. Just a thought😀
@@FlipnripDIVING yes he is the greatest, and of course the dives competed today are harder than the ones used in 80's. Comaneci is the greatest gymnast of all times, and her gymnastics skills are not even competed today as they are no more in code of points as too easy!.. and yes he is the greatest, also after all the problems he lived under competing
He is definitely a survivor and lived his life exemplary! Loved his diving also! Got to sit by him at a National competition a few years back and was amazed at the way he took care of his body! Still in perfect shape!
@@Marketoromagnolo yeah! He is super nice. I’ll have to look for my home video of him diving and post it. It’s from 2009 or something like that. I’ll search this weekend!
so many memories watching this as a kid. Do you happen to have atlanta mens 10m? I used to have the preleims semis and finals but my mom recorded over them :'(
Oh noooo!! How sad is that! I guess back in the days you always needed new VHS tapes to save TV shows! :) Sometimes I post entire events and sometimes I split them by diver. All videos are filed in playlists. You might want to check out these 2 playlists. The first one is a 1984 playlist: ruclips.net/p/PLY3y43i-C924J-eQmeWjOGf_9lhlX-UsG and the second one is a 1996 diving playlist: ruclips.net/p/PLY3y43i-C927MX2uoB-oRnpk6us4ClXZa. . Let me know if those work! I've never gotten feedback on playlists lol.
@@FlipnripDIVING thanks i have seen them they bring back good memories. Someone has uploaded the mens 3m 96 comp and the womens aswell its on youtube i just cant find any of the 10m :(
FLiPnRiP Yay! Thank you for the play lists. It does work, but it doesn't seem to have a way to comment about them. So that's probably why nobody has commented on them. I haven't watched them yet, but I have saved them for later. If there is a problem I will let you know. Thanks again! 😊
@@bang8622 Oh my Bang I am so sorry missed your comment so long ago! You're looking for mens 96 10m right? I have several olympic videos but somehow RUclips allowed me to post them way back when but now I can't. They are blocked
He didn't hit his head on the platform that I know of, but his his head on the 3 meter springboard at the 1988 Olympic Games in the prelims. He came back with a few stitches finished the event, made it on to the finals and won the meet. :) Thanks for commenting!
@@FlipnripDIVING Gosh, there was a video of a diver from the top platform that hit his head and basically just belly flopped into the water. This was sometime between 79 and 85. The video was up and I seen it several times, could a swore it was Louganis. Now I'm on a mission to find that video:)
@@Grayback1973 I remember hearing about it. There was a russian diver about that time who hit his head on the platform and died. I've never seen the actual video of it though. I think it was a reverse 3.5 or something like that and he kept on getting closer and closer to the platform. In his book Greg talked about him thinking he was going to hit, and he it.. so scary.. If you find it, let me know!
The most beautiful and poetic diver...As my mother used to say, he resembles a Greek god! 🙂
