My issue is after installing a new inched, the black in icon still shows empty. After trying out what you did, it appeared full, printed a little bit, then went back to empty again.

HP printer and their printheads are low quality. If you buy an HP printer, you should be prepared to buy new print head every week. That's how its quality is.
