ABOUT SANFORD AND SON:
The highest-rated half-hour series in NBC history at the time, Sanford and Son stars Redd Foxx as the cantankerous sexagenarian Fred Sanford and Demond Wilson as his son Lamont, also his business partner in the family junk-dealing business. To prevent his son from leaving home, and bent on having things his own way in general, Fred often calls upon such ruses as fake heart attacks or phony back ailments. Lamont usually sees through these subterfuges, but because he loves his father, he lets him think he's getting his way.

People who say Seinfeld is the funniest sitcom ever have never seen Sanford and Son.
Both are good; different eras, different time zones, different target audience.
The ones who believe Seinfeld is the funniest sitcom ever eats chicken without seasoning 💯
I've seen both series extensively but definitely prefer Seinfeld.
Seinfeld sucks

😂😂😂
Fred: "Hey Sonny, are you a lawyer?"
Sonny: "That depends on who you ask. If you ask me, I'm a lawyer."

If it (the gloves) doesn't fit, then.... (you-know-the-rest) ! Johnny Cochran - Lamont got his own Dream Team (like the 1992 U.S. basketball team, at the (Summer) Olympics in Barcelona, Spain - composed of NBA all-stars, like Michael Jordan, Scottie Pipppen and Charles Barkley) or infamous (professional) boxing promoter, Don King (before that eraser-head wacky hairstyle).. Antonio's Fargas was so Serious in this episode , and so Professional, so much so that he expressed Grady , and Fred. He became The Character , and stole that Audience. We don't see this kind of Performance anymore.
"expressed Grady and Fred." Don't you mean impressed Grady and Fred?
Absolutely.....Antonio Fargas definitely stole the audience from Fred and Grady. I like the way he said " Is everybody watching." I nearly fell out of my chair laughing.😄😄
@@darrickmccabe4203 Yes, I felt that he [Antonio] _definitely_ stole the show! (Hmm...maybe that's why we never saw him again...at least on S&S!) 😲

This stuff was for real.
I'm old enough to experience this show live. Back in the mid 70's I was in an actors workshop and were all invited to visit the set at NBC. No laugh tracks, the laughs you hear are all for real.

That's why in the ending credits you hear "Sanford and son was recorded on tape before a live studio audience".

Grady tho 😂😂😂
Fred and Grady celebrating the obvious is classic....lolol
The rest of this episode is classic when they were in court. Your honor, I have been counseling him all his life, when the judge ask Fred if he was Lamont's legal counsel.
OMG! Grady and Fred's enthusiasticly impressed reactions were priceless. Redd and Whitman were playing off each others silliness.
I gave the same speech to judge and each time. They waived the fees
