    I like the vehicle, but for the price it should have been the correct size and all side doors should have been able to open, not just one on each side.

    • @mjgg07
      @mjgg07 4 года назад +3

      Ray's Reviews The original transport was actually a lot smaller. Most if not all Star Wars vehicles are not the correct size. If they were it would be impossible to mass produce them and ship them in boxes. They need to be scaled down reasonably enough to accommodate the 3.75 figures. Remember these are toys not models and made to play with at least in their original incarnations. Also keep in mind your mighty dollar is not what it used to be. 70 dollars seem like a lot but production costs are high specially when you have this level of detail. Another opening door might not look very significant but every little detail adds up and translates into thousands if not millions of dollars when made in high quantities.

    • @DMSL2007
      @DMSL2007 4 года назад +9

      I have to disagree, if they made it 20% bigger it would have been the correct size and not too big to fit in our collections. The doors woulden't cost a lot of plastic. If you look at the video it is Obvious that it doesn't fully accomodate the figures, can't even use all the chairs inside at the same time. Hasbro asks a premium price, but doesn't go the extra mile and that is a shame and IMHO no excuse.

    Great review Victoria, me being an owner of the original toy, I too was surprised to see this vehicle on the Mandalorian. I purchased mine @ age 13 from Kay Bee toystore in the mall. I'm waiting for a price drop before I get this and swapped out for the 6" scale Snow speeder instead. Lol Thanks again and God bless

      Rodney Sessoms I don’t know that the price will drop much since it’s online only, and currently not available thru Target or Walmart the way the Assault Tank was. Either way, it’s probably best to support the line if we want it to continue.

  • @equesfuscus
    @equesfuscus 5 месяцев назад

    Though it's not truly to scale, it's much, much larger than the original. I have both, and the new one dwarfs the original Kenner one. I adore my vintage one, which still works, and I know how to completely tear down and refurbish the electronics, but the new one really gives you access to the interior in ways the old one, not even the "Imperial Cruiser" version, did. Setting the seated troopers with their legs interspersed, and pretending that the "dummy benches" at the back fold down, this vehicle can comfortably ferry 12 troopers + crew into battle. It's a delight.

  • @etheangel2220
    @etheangel2220 4 года назад +3

    This looks great but the size is a real downer for what it was supposed to do (transport a bunch of troops). When we saw the first shots of this I was so excited to see the interior, because I could already picture a line of troopers standing up inside. Then I saw the reference shot with the figure and knew that wasnt going to be the case. This is the only review I have watched for this so far and now it turns out that while there are four seats inside, you cant even have them occupied at the same time. Thats a big letdown. Sorry to be so negative here, but all that incredible detail cant redeem the size issue for me. Aside from the detailing, the greatest selling point for this vehicle is probably the nostalgia factor, but it just doesnt exist in my personal experience. I didnt grow up with the Kenner vehicle (figures yes), and I dont even think I knew it existed as a Kenner toy until it came up on Rebels series.
    I have the hovertank as a point of reference in your comparison. I think it struck a better balance between the detailing, features, and size than this troop transport.

    And my troopers love it even more
    Now they got a badass G Ride to go kick ass in
    And they love the Wi-Fi in it for access to music from all over the galaxy
    And I have a bunch of generic toy guns and stuff so I took a tiny box and put them in it and put the box in the back for weapons supplies
    This thing really lets you use your imagination

    You can actually open the two doors closer to the cockpit. Correct me if I’m wrong but I believe Mark Boudreaux also designed the Rebels version. The only thing that version has on this one is that the cannons on top actually fire. Amazing vehicle and excellent review!

      @@mjgg07 I saw reviews on the Rebels one, no interior detail, no wheels and you could only fit one trooper in the rear and it wasn't big either. I loved the Rebels series and was hoping Hasbro would do a decent job on making a toy vehicle and sadly, they let me down on the quality and the price. I can't believe how much they want for it on the secondary market. It's outrageous. Nobody's going to buy that.

      Lamarr Avery The price should go down now. It was expensive because it was the only version available other than the original from 1978. You suggest this one is screen accurate, but the canon on the vehicle in the series is more a dome than the toy one.

    No one on RUclips or the Star Wars sites seems to notice the hinges on the outer slots on both sides which DO open - I keep wanting to see it displayed and working as it is shown in the show itself when the troopers disembark. I'm sure it was easy for you to miss, but the hinges are there on two of the outer slots. I think it's cool that Hasbro at least tooled that in for each side, though for the price let's be honest, it should have been all 6 with that capability.

    Thanks for this in depth review!
    The sculpt and attention to detail on this ITT are truly exceptional.
    As far as I’m concerned, I won’t be buying it, for 2 reasons:
    * scale: this is just far too small for 3.75’’ figures. True, this is nothing new for Hasbro vehicles, and I understand the need to balance production costs, retail price and sheer size.
    However, to me, this is one case where maintaining true 1/18 scale was vital since this is a troop transport where characters should be plainly visible at all times, and scale was clearly established in universe (as shown by your reference photo).
    As it is, the smaller scale is a deal breaker.
    * Cost: this needs to be imported to my region, and that brings up the price to USD100. Far too much for my liking.
    So it’s a pass for me. Shame. Once again the sculpt is top notch and I like The Mandalorian. I’ve even preordered Hot Toys’ Deluxe Mandalorian + Child release.
    But I’ll be following the Slave 1 reissue with great interest. We’ll see.

    As others pointed out, how did you fail to realize that the two most forward doors actually do swing open? Kinda a major oversight, don’t you think? This is a nice vehicle, albeit expensive. I bought one for now, and will consider a 2nd one if/when the price comes down and they go on clearance due to lack of sales, which is guaranteed to happen given how overpriced this is. Thanks for reviewing.

    • @VictoriasCantina

      Firstly, thanks for watching. Secondly, it is always my intention to put together high quality, thorough reviews. In fact, my goal is always for a VC review to be the only review of a product you really need to see. These videos take hours upon hours to put together, and I don't really make any money off of them... especially when you consider that I buy pretty much everything I review. Despite those efforts, I occasionally miss things. It's not often, but it does happen. Why? Possibly because in my excitement I overlooked it. Or perhaps I just missed it on the instruction sheet. Or maybe because I'm human, and we are prone to making mistakes from time to time. To you that might be "kinda a major oversight." To me, it's a detail that obviously should have been pointed out, but I missed it. So I'm not really sure what you hope to gain by phrasing your comment in an derogatory manner.
