Going through the menus of the Eclipse AVN4430. Full write up and comparison to the 2210p here: www.solsticeforum.com/forum/f61/eclipse-avn4430-installed-comparison-2210p-pics-55013
Sorry, there was a seller that listed four of them before even Crutchfield had them in stock, and I grabbed number 3. I haven't seen them listed since then!
I wrote a comparison and review... link is in the video info now. I paid $600 shipped from eBay (only place in stock at the time). I wouldn't pay 850 unless it was a direct drop in (Eclipse units have been drop ins for Toyotas in the past, and the Vibe is at least partially designed by Toyota and may share the harness). If Eclipse units drop in, the 4430 is better value than 726e IMO. TomTom Navi works great too, and I can take it out and use it in other vehicles.
It was definitely through the desktop TomTom home software. Somewhere in there, with the PND connected to the PC, you can personalize your splash screen (along with other stuff). I do not still have a tomtom so I cannot go completely through the steps.
@mrmontebuilder Sorry for the delay. You have to unplug the iPod each time it starts (video may not work). Pretty annoying, but I just stopped using video. FYI, the iPhone 4 works great for it, especially if you jailbreak it. Using MusicControlsPro, you can play Pandora and similar apps through the headunit, controllable by the headunit, and have the band info show on the screen. The resistive touchscreen feels dated and looks kinda washed out, at least compared to modern smartphones.
That testing noise is coming from my radar detector. I did install it myself, sorta. There was a previous aftermarket HU in there that bestbuy installed for me. I had to fix some stuff they did and adapt it for this one. BTW I have long since swapped to a newer headunit. For the steering wheel controls, I used an adapter- PAC SWI-ECL or a newer model *I think*
I can't remember exactly, it's been a while since i had this headunit. It had something to do with either replacing it through the tomtom home software, or connecting the GPS to a computer and replacing an image file in the file system. I could probably find the directions again if you need them- just send me a message if the above doesn't work.
Hi how did you change the start up picture on your headunit

That's actually a radar detector making the startup sound, not the headunit!
How can solve the problem of battery power
Hi I tried these steps several times but it doesn't work:(
Now that you have had this for awhile how is it? Any bugs or hardware issues crop up?
just recently bought one. no problems so far. 5th gen ipod works great for me.

Are these on eBay often? I can only find this unit for about $850. How do you like using it so far?
I had the pioneer version it sucked!
