I thought hat Denver had some sort of mandatory landlord licensing program to prevent this sort of thing ????

Maybe the City can just buy the property outright like it's done for homeless/migrants. Probably a good idea to move if you can, I empathize but don't expect anyone in government to help you if you have a job and pay the rent, they just see you as a paying customer as opposed to others who don't pay (taxes)....

Colorado needs a slumlord law. Its like that all over the state. Call the governor
He wont talk to you or do anything but might make you feel better. You are just his peasants.

Apartments continue to raise rent to cover costs "due to inflation" but basics such as trash removal is a huge problem at many properties. The excuse is they changed companies. Cant work in a city that i cant afford to live in.

Seen places over 2k rent with rats and no one cares. Protesting won't help.

Homeless Coalition Civic Center Apartments having the same problem no hot water and the smell of mold everywhere rats running in the halls at night We have a new property manager so far she's on the ball but this building hasn't been renovated since 1975 almost 50 years that's unexcusable recently our apartments we're flooded that doesn't help with mold I guess that's what you get for $275.00 a month.

Landlords are angry because Colorado actually gives tenants their RIGHTS, and the landlords are so angry about it because if they don’t fix it, you’re out of that lease sans ANY fees owed or anything else. It does not count as a broken lease either, and a lot of these corporations are owned by TX, CA, FL, MO, MN, MT, etc building groups that don’t know (and don’t want to follow) the local rules, but there is a Denver Housing Authority to assist with issues, and breaking up with your 💩 landlord! ❤ Give the Google a little prod for some info, and start making phone calls. It’s bound to get attention from the appropriate authorities who can get FINES retroactively charged, so they’ll be more apt to get things addressed. Colorado has SO many more rights for tenants that don’t exist in other States, so don’t give up sans a fight! Keep protesting, and even keep the rent for the maximum amount of time allowed before they can charge a late fee and then finally pay it so they realize that you’re not playing or paying for them not to do their jobs appropriately. ❤

Both the property management company and the entity owner of the property must have very large fines imposed on them. The city must revoke the business license of the property management company.
When people hear others speak about “the free market”, this is what it produces. Owners do not repair their properties to maximize profit in the knowledge that tenants in a tight market have few alternatives.
People are paying their rent. The owner through their property management company must repair and maintain the property In A Timely Manner. That is the deal.
My sister when through this same treatment in Long Beach CA.
Remove their business license and fine them!

They are doing something better for our city than move, they are taking action against a slumlord.
