“Alive 2007” is more impressive technologically and as a mashup, but this has a lot more going on in terms of actual live performance. They’re putting in a lot of work by constantly changing the beat and percussion, and introducing different effects, so that it never feels repetitive. This is why a lot of people consider “Alive 1997” to be superior. I wish they’d return to doing some all-analogue sets again just for old times sake, because that’s what they excel at best. The older technology allows them to be more active with mixing, and none of their older shows sound the same. Never heard any DJ’s put in more work into a live set than these guys.
That repetition and *high-energy* is what put the "punk" in Daft Punk. Back when they were considered probably electro-breakbeat or something. Man, I wish I were old enough to attend concerts during this era of burgeoning electronic shows, as opposed to the stiff, over-produced nonsense that we're left with now. I'm sure shows like this still happen, but they're not easy to find in my corner of the world.

DVD.

@@prodky33 I know I was joking, I was saying it's one of my favourite pieces of daft content

THE DAFTENDIREKT HIGH HATS ARE WHAT I LIVE FOR
*I can't still believe that Daft Punk split up...*
And that's why you have to leave a comment about it with *baldness* because it's so stylish and it totally wasn't done already 50000 times
@@festiveFurry Yeah, ¿And?
@@Screamy133 idk
Also GnR splitted but they gather again and they rock,so it’s never late…
they will always stay alive in our hearts
They are still alive and well bro
I found and listened to this concert recording more than 10 years ago and it is still one of the most intense and profound preformances I have ever heard.
Yeah ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Was lucky to see them @ this gig @ Q Club Birmingham UK
I've been listening to this for 6 hours..... such a masterpiece
They wear masks and isolate themselves perfect DJs for covid
Makes sense
Why wearing normal masks? Let's make daft punk masks-
@@justexieon YES! FOR HALLOWEEN!! ;D
But they are robots
@@snifey7694 lol true true
Man, I wish I were old enough to attend concerts during this era of burgeoning electronic shows, as opposed to the stiff, over-produced nonsense that we're left with now. I'm sure shows like this still happen, but they're not easy to find in my corner of the world.
+Pikminiman I wish I were old enough too (or just born for some really early shows). I'd love to travel in time to some older The Prodigy, The Chemical Brothers, etc. concerts. I know I can still see them on stage, but then the "I don't have time"/"I live too far away" things kick in.
+Preston Garvey well I live in Poland, so it's not as far. still, right now I've got a lot of studying and I rarely attend even the local events
+oldgamers101 Well, Fatboy Slim, Chemical Brothers and Prodigy still do their live acts. And they're big!
+Tony, The Stark yeah, the prodigy is actually coming to jarocin festival here in Poland and by jeezez am I fkin going there in summer xdd
oldgamers101 You should. One of the best concerts I ever attended in my life was Prodigy's. It's an overwhelming experience.
If you have the chance to go, don't think twice!
I'm still super pissed they never toured again. Saw alive 2006/7 3 times and my fucking god. Insane
They're gone
I deeply envy you. What would I give for a chance to go back in time and see them live.
Forever the fckng best album of Daft punk available to get high to🔥
I wish i had this CD
POWERLINE POWERLINE Lyric Video's vinyl is better
I love rolling and scratching
Classic. I heard this song for the first time there is almost 20 years in radio and nightclub
Yasssss
Me too I love it this music ❤❤❤❤❤
I didn't even realize the background gradually zooms in until now
Same
I just noticed XD
It moves so slow over 45 minutes that no one notices! XD Classic Daft Punk.
I wish I attended the one for 2007. Damn I love the music and the good vibes I feel from them
This is the best rollin' and scratchin' live version I have ever heard !
First 4 mins should be a lesson for all nowadays dj beginners
Edit: all set should be a lesson
Lit, just lit 🔥
by far my favorite rendition of the track Alive in this, super underrated song
Rollin and scratchin is def the highlite
RIP to legends. I wish I got to see them live once. All I can do now is hope for a random comeback one day which isn't entirely unheard of, but I have to be realistic how this is it.
Ya no habrá otro como esto

If I was given an option to live in a specific point in time, I'd choose the late 90s because music was much better back then.
Debatable, but ok.
I don’t care. Alive 2027 will still happen in my heart
One of the few bands I know who can turn skipping samples into fresh beats
It would be sick if they did what they could and salvaged all of thomas parts, showed all of the weld on the helmet and all of the reconstruction, then came back and another UNBELEIVABLE album.
17:07 to 24:31 A mashup of 2/3 versions of Rollin' & Scratchin'.
01. Original
02. LA Version
03. Wisconsin Version (not featured)
wisconsin version? what set is that?
+Dope And General Studios The one they where they played at the Even Further festival in Wisconsin... Have Ü not watched Daft Punk Unchained?!
Lucario Mario oh oh i thought even further was at ohio for some reason XD i know what even further and i have watched unchained
Lucario Mario The Wisconsin version was during their first US performance in 1996.
@@DJSamwellOfficial I've watched unchained
been listening to this track for the past 7 years, love it. perfect for working out :D
+Luis Rodriguez Commitment to Daft Punk and working out. Nice!
I can imagine the occasional cheering from the crowd is like motivation that you're doing great :P
Same! I lift weights to this album from time to time! No other workout album nearly like it.
I would try this!
You still rocking it?
19:58 that snare drum sounds like fucking gunshot. crazy sound..
30:06 « Un peu plus,140 ! »
Los 90's era la mejor época en la escena de la música house sin dudas
I love how Alive 2007 separated the songs so you can listen to each one individually but they just said fuck it, here's the whole thing with this one
thats because alive 1997 is just one long set.
@@Paradise_PR The timestamps they added, while good in theory, still don't really help much.
Well not all of it if you remember the set like an hour and thirty three minutes
1. This isn’t the full set.
2. In Japan and the UK, cassettes of individual Alive 1997 tracks titled “Alive” circulated until the full album came out.
The CD has one 45min track.
WDPK Pt. 1 Goes UNBELIEVABLY HARD
4:33 EVEN IN REVERSE THE SONG IS FIRE
0:00 1. Intro / Short Circuit
1:41 2. Da Funk / Daftendirect
6:17 3. Daftendirect Interlude
7:23 4. Armand Van Helden - Ten Minutes Of Funk
14:33 5. Rollin' & Scratchin' / Rock'n Roll
29:14 6. WDPK Pt.1 (Well Known As Revolution 909)
36:38 7. WDPK Pt.2 (Well Known As RETRO / GRADE - Pulsar)
40:40 8. Alive
but I thought short circuit wasn't out until Discovery in 2001, right?
@@TPChatter They Made Short Circuit In A Long Time Since 1997
7 is NOT RETRO/GRADE - Pulsar. That song wasn't released until 2010, and is clearly a remake of Daft Punk's original track. That track has no known official title, however it was performed at at least two other gigs I'm aware of - the 1996 Even Further festival, and at whatever concert it is that's briefly featured on the second disc of the "D.A.F.T." DVD.
About 25 years ago but it's still futuristic
The song at 7:23 is 10 minutes of funk.
NO WAY 😱
TWENTY YEARS OF ALIVE 1997 YESSSSS
It has been 7 years since “Ten Years of Funk” original DJ name was misspelled from “Armand van Helden” to “Arnold Van Helden”, and nobody fixed it 😂
Oh man, I may never be able to attend something this legendary, but when I close my eyes and just listen to those sweet sweet beats with that crowd roaring I can feel it
If this duo comes back this year, we will all have a better time in quarantine
Thank you for bringing back the house to this 50 year old!
No clue what "The Epilogue" is. Just here for the bangers
honestly I dig daft punks regular output but...... why do their songs sound SO much better here than they do in their most known recorded versions? they literally sound like completely different songs. wish daft punk put out more shit like this
It's because this performance was conducted with the same physical equipment that made Homework. Technology is a member of the band, and Daft Punk played their equipment like actual instruments, particularly in this early era.
i just noticed that from 44:47 onwards, it switches to a soundboard recording
24:22 when youre working with circuits and you short circuit smt
Merci les daft pour votre live twitch ! Alive 97 restera a jamais une dinguerie !!!!!!!
Par contre j'ai une question apparemment le tracklist c'est juste du bruit et ça ne s'écoute pas c'est vrai ?
