I like to compare Ifrit with Lucifer. Both were revered; where Lucifer was an angel, Ifrit was an astral. Ifrit decided to turn his back against the Six and destroys a territory known as Solheim. I'm not familiar how he and Ardyn came to join forces though. I can only speculate it has something to do with Ardyn feeling betrayed and losing his right as King.
Another theory to think of, supposedly it was Ifrit who was responsible for the Starscourge. Once after Ardyn consumed the daemons to save mankind, and thus demonized and exiled by the very man never destined to be king, it stands to reason that Ifrit may have convinced Ardyn to join forces with him.

Yeah you can say that fights like Leviathan or Ifrit are easy, but they were meant to be "Epic" not hard. Dont hate without reason. The ending was great. Most ppl dont like it cause it is bittersweet. There is challenging content in the game too. Ignis, Gladio and Prompto are some of the best characters in terms of personality and how they assist Noctis in the franchise. The Summons are there not to spam them like in most FFs but as a means to turn the tables during a hard battle and dont forget if u kill an enemy with a summon only Noctis gets xp. So they are not an option to lvl up ur whole party easily. They are meant to add more Epicness. The combat is fluid, with the only issue being the camera sometimes. There are combos u can learn but few ppl bother to learn them. Ardyn is a very well made antagonist and what you would call a tragic hero, ultimately wanting to get revenge but he does give hints that he secretly hopes to be laid to rest after all these years. Thus he helps Noctis at the beginning, no plot hole there. If u want to complain, complain about the 1 minute screentime of the Niflheim Emperor and ex-commander. The game is a solid 9/10 but in the end it definately gains the title of EPIC. And did i mention the soundtrack?
Why can't boss battles be both epic and hard? They're not mutually exclusive and personally I think they'd be MORE epic with a little bit of difficulty because puts the player on edge. What we got were basically interactive cutscenes. Not only were they easy, but Titan/Leviathan were actually impossible to fail. I agree with the rest of what you said though, I'd give it a nice 8.5/10.
I would have preferred if they were hard too but im inclined to believe they were easy so that they dont kill the hype of the moment in case you actually die and to help newcomers get into the franchise since Leviathan for example is notoriously difficult in most FF games. I dont mind it but i share your opinion too. I just dont find it to be much of an issue since overall i enjoyed the game very much and im replaying it again atm :P
@@MekkahDee I actually had a hard time with this battle the first time because I was underleveled, so the battle was long and Ifrit hit like a ton of trucks so dying was only one or two mistakes away, ahaha. Ifrit in this game was an awesome boss. he made a great villain to. He created the star scourge to turn humans into demons and betrayed his fellow astral's. i wouldn't be surprised if he took over a human host within the Niflheim Empire to take advantage of their ingenuity to further evolve his scourge. he'd probably hate it though. I bet he used the power of the son to make the scourge to wearing down the amount of daylight during the day. it would make sense to given the way the story played out.
Y'know, call me crazy, but Ifrit in this game looks closer to certain Western depictions of Satan Lucifer (particularly that of the Lord of Shadows trilogy - don't shoot me for this please); which is ironic given that the Ifrit has been said to take the form of Satan himself (which is where the Red Devil form of Satan tends to come from).
Was a great game but i just imagine what it could have been if it was not pushed. I would have waited another 10 years if they just finished this one fully but still a good game.
Possibly my favourite boss from any game. The prelude to the actual fight with Bahamut was fucking epic, then you get to fight a god with your bros to this soundtrack. It's just fantastic, shame the actual final boss lacked.. well everything.
This vattle theme is just ace. Turely amazing. I felt really sad at same time cause i knew was the end. And poor noctis. That ending tore me apart.. amazing game other wise
Dayum that looks like an epic boss fight. They should've combined the mechanics with Ardyn's final battle and replaced the Armiger fight or something, I mean that is just too epic to not be the final boss.
Tbh, Ifrit being the angry God who's capable of destruction of humanity is similar to Hinduism Shiva, they both wear minimal garb, don't have beard, live on top of a mountain, have unruly long hair etc.
Ifrit was a stupidly hype boss *and alot of the bosses were hype*...but there are things in this video i've never even seen during the fight *like ifrit and noctis being in the sky then noctis doing some dragon ball z shit and throwing ifrit to the lower areas of the plaza* its a shame for me the entire fight took place right at the entrance and in a tiny little pool of water also why couldnt we just have this design of noctis through the entire game? that beard makes him look badass as fuck...and the king's raiment costume is the most final fantasy looking costume in the game
No idea how I triggered that aerial thing but you're not the first person to be like "what is this?" And yeah I agree on Noctis, or at least give us way more time as older Noctis. Before the time skip I didn't have a problem with Noctis, bit emo looking but w/e, but when you go back from basically Regis Mark II, it hurts. I'm sure in the future we'll have more options for everything though. Hold tight brother.
Mekkah Dee i was hoping that when you played after the story you would keep the older noctis look instead of just getting the suit. personally though i didnt mind noctis's design that much *it eventually grew on me towards the end of the game when i stopped using the casual clothes for noctis and gladio* but i seriously wish noctis looked like that the entire game.
hi. also saw some videos with ifrit only sitting, getting the shit beaten out of him until bahamut comes. i always started the fight with an ice spell and ifrit took his sword, stood up and fought. i think that makes the fight more interesting. and the aerial attack can be triggered in both phases but it seems random. one last thing...try depleting all of ifrits health in the 2nd phase and your team can perform a team attack on him before shiva comes^^
My take on this is that the three of them fought Daemons *on their own, not in a party of three* for ***ten years*** before Noctis' return as the true king. All tricked out with their own non-magical crystal summoned new weapons (since Noctis wasn't there for ten years to summon their weapons for them), and Ignis being a blind master, there's no way the three of them lost to three Iron Giants. I think during the final blow to Ardyn the crew was there in spirit next to Noctis, but not literally dead and there next to him as spirits.
His whole party is there together with Luna at the end when they are banishing Ardys in the void/afterlife thing, this makes me think they died, because everyone else died there too.
it was through Ardyn's eyes. Noctis didn't even notice them, and it has no sense that those 3 would be there at the same time. It's more like "my friends are my power" from KH, Noctis was strong enough , thanks to all of them, to beat him afterlife.
Weird having 'Ifrit' of all things so late in the game. Just one of the many things that makes me wonder if a full fledged expansion pack is going to be the result of all the DLCs. (Each of the companions getting a prominent section with maybe a more major summon?, then finally a Noctus Returns Co-Op DLC which ups all the epic and you can play co-op as anyone). I just don't think this game is 'done'... Update: Royal Edition and the companion combat update and Episode DLCs solve most of this, though there's still room for more (post-ending change? companions being the 'comrades'?; guess we'd see with 2019 or not).
gladio, ignis and prompto do have their own dlc scenario deals, i guess ifrit is not a summonable cause we never see him summoned by noctis. there will be a mulitplayer dlc where you and friends can play as all four heroes. not really sure what is going on Square Enix has no intentions of a sequel unfortunately
Firstone33 We know the word that DLC is multiplayer, but not much else. There's the chance that its more than just a gameplay mode. I said expansion, not sequel. My curiosity is whether something like the following will happen: *SPOILERS* -Companion DLC may take place in the years between the final chapters, while Noctis is away. You control one of the guys and other characters may join as guests. I just considered the possibility that new summons could be included in this, and the guys get brought closer to Noctis' 'level' of things. -'Co-op' DLC isn't just a mode, but a 'post-ending' continued adventure that returns Noctis somehow and exists as a whole layer of endgame and story (albeit still a fraction of the size of the main game, it could still have more frequent bigger things in it). An article quote from months ago: "The team is also thinking of doing something for those who play Final Fantasy XV for a long time - including the possibility of additional scenario content." Its weird having the fast forward and a lot of people saw how abrupt it felt, and some regard it as strange for the developers to invest so much in older forms of characters. Perhaps this is actually more of a covert tease to the content to come. Considering FFXIII-2's DLC, don't immediately count me as wrong. It also had a sense of other characters doing things during/between the adventure of the main game, as well as a (in a sense) 'true ending/epilogue' DLC. I would not be surprised to see Ifrit return as a more legit summon.
Firstone33 Also, there's the possibility (and they're already technically moving in such a direction with the first patches) that we'll end up with a new 'cut' of FFXV over time, where cut/rushed content, or things that couldn't fit disk space, is 'restored', and this includes aspects like a more polished and interesting summon system. There's a lot they can do. And normally I wouldn't bring up this stuff so much, but I'm already getting signs that the devs are not done with the game's systems and story content, for better (yay more stuff!) or worse (wtf my game was incomplete??!?).
Firstone33 Actually I found a quote: ""It had to be something that added value for the player. Myself and Mr Tabata created a roadmap. What we came up with was focusing on three comrade characters, other than Noctis himself, those who accompany him on his journeys in the main game. We're doing three unique added on character-based episodes. Each of those brings new gameplay mechanics and systems based on the characters themselves and their unique traits and personalities. On top of that, once we have all three characters added as playable characters in their own way, we will bring in Noctis from the main game as a final add-on, and give you online multiplayer co-op play using those characters." Boom! Why would they have to 'bring Noctis'? ;)
Firstone33 And ""Throughout the whole development of Final Fantasy 15 we challenged ourselves to try so many new and different things to take it to the next level. To be able to continue that as well and try out even more new challenges and going to new places with the DLC is really satisfying. The main game is the story of a single character, Noctis; it should be that way, but to take that game and add in all these extra characters and the stories of them and make it multiplayer, it's a very difficult thing to do but we are very aggressively working towards that. It's such a great thing to try and do.""
I couldn't get Ifrit to stop burning me alive so I ended up summoning at the end and didn't use the fire lamps. I was all out of spells and potions but I had a safety bit so Noctis literally couldn't die lol. I think Titan beat him for me.
Ifrit should be the final boss, not Ardyn Izunia. Ravus is also a good choice for the final boss. But nothing to complain as the game is already released.
AdamRonaldo1903 I was rxpecting a fight against Ravus in full human form with the power of Crystal, after all, Tenebrae owned a crystal like Lucis, so weren't they able to tap into it ?
biorobot2 eh reminds me of how it was with witcher 3.Immerith,the firt out of the 3 supposedly main villains ends up being the hardest and was ironically a slow heavy hitting boss that teleport/dashes here and there just like ravus.
Before I had went into the area to fight him I had realized I was low level and had traveled back to past Lucis and grined the shit out of the wyverns until I was level 60. I beat him EZ.
Spoilers(?) So I guess it's possible to skip certain parts of this fight? When I did it, I summoned Bahamut as well, I guess if you're doing enough damage the fight doesn't go on long enough for it to happen. It should definitely be scripted though, because like summoning Shiva during this fight, it was definitely different than if you had summoned her normally against other enemies.
Well your ship couldn't possibly farther from the truth in this game, Ifrit and Shiva are complete opposites in terms of their motives, one seeks to help humanity, while the other cursed it. the only relationship that is hinted at is between bahamut and leviathan in the genesis painting

God I loved this boss fight 😆
It was epic when shiva kisses ifrit. And blow him to pieces one of the greatest ending in boss fight history i hope the remake of 7 will be like this
Ifrit in this game was an awesome boss. he made a great villain to. He created the star scourge to turn humans into demons and betrayed his fellow astral's. i wouldn't be surprised if he took over a human host within the Niflheim Empire to take advantage of their ingenuity to further evolve his scourge. he'd probably hate it though. I bet he used the power of the son to make the scourge to wearing down the amount of daylight during the day. it would make sense to given the way the story played out.
absolutely epic fight and music
I didn't realize this when fighting Ifrit, but the Shiva part of this song sounds AWESOME with headphones on
Everything's better with headphones on!
Ear rape and headphone killers
Y'know, call me crazy, but Ifrit in this game looks closer to certain Western depictions of Satan Lucifer (particularly that of the Lord of Shadows trilogy - don't shoot me for this please); which is ironic given that the Ifrit has been said to take the form of Satan himself (which is where the Red Devil form of Satan tends to come from).
Ashram Astarcia more like Cernunnos
yep, the antlers are more of a Cerunnos vibe
Ashram Astarcia he is more of Satan in this game as well as he is the creator of the Starscourge.
Ifrit is not the creator of the Starscourge. Nowhere in the game is that ever referenced
Painless Soul I don't remember if this was mentioned in the game, but in the official FFXV guide, Ifrit did indeed create the Starscourge.
Demoniac and terrific theme, beautiful !!
love this boss battle so much.
Best theme In the game to this day.
This vattle theme is just ace. Turely amazing. I felt really sad at same time cause i knew was the end. And poor noctis. That ending tore me apart.. amazing game other wise
is anyone else hearing random samples of famous pieces from previous ff games in many of the final battle themes? i cant stop hearing them
Dayum that looks like an epic boss fight. They should've combined the mechanics with Ardyn's final battle and replaced the Armiger fight or something, I mean that is just too epic to not be the final boss.
Shiva kisses Ifrit.
Also Ifrit: You're fire, girl!
Tbh, Ifrit being the angry God who's capable of destruction of humanity is similar to Hinduism Shiva, they both wear minimal garb, don't have beard, live on top of a mountain, have unruly long hair etc.
someone needs to take all three ifrit themes and make them into one.
Ifrit was a stupidly hype boss *and alot of the bosses were hype*...but there are things in this video i've never even seen during the fight *like ifrit and noctis being in the sky then noctis doing some dragon ball z shit and throwing ifrit to the lower areas of the plaza* its a shame for me the entire fight took place right at the entrance and in a tiny little pool of water
also why couldnt we just have this design of noctis through the entire game? that beard makes him look badass as fuck...and the king's raiment costume is the most final fantasy looking costume in the game
Awesome fight with Ifrit

yh its not the hardest fight.. but it the best in ffxv

Prompto, Ignis and Gladius... They have been waiting for Noctis for 10 years to only died at the end. I found it sad, really sad.
What makes you think they died?
It's more like "my friends are my power" from KH, Noctis was strong enough , thanks to all of them, to beat him afterlife.
plus Ignis, Gladio and Prompto did nothing against Ardyn, remember, Luna purified him and the Knights stabbed him but those 3...nothing :)
Ifrit is no problem. Just have some potent ice magic spells and you will defeat him in seconds.
Final Fantasy 15 actually made me cry, it was so sad. I think it is the best FF ever made.
I wish Ifrit was built upon a bit more :(
I guess I'm over leveled when i fought Ifrit the first time that I just swarm him with attacks and finished him in under a minute in the first phase.
the one where he starts off sitting on the throne? that's supposed to go by pretty quick
game nerd It's even quicker if your 50 levels above him.
Here after getting the new music from ff16 trailer stuck in my head. Damn these games have such amazing music. Really adds so much to the series.
Maybe it's a coincidence but if you play FF Type 0 Ifrit fights and has the same animations as the Rursan Reavers.
why i get one winged angel vibes in this song?
I got the God of War vibes on the Phase II, which is awesome.
GUSRG the God of War vibe comes more from Phase 1, at least to me
hate the game as much as you want, insulting the music should be illegal
11:01 ifrit’s secret move: teabag attack
My curiosity is whether something like the following will happen:
*SPOILERS*
-Companion DLC may take place in the years between the final chapters, while Noctis is away.
An article quote from months ago: "The team is also thinking of doing something for those who play Final Fantasy XV for a long time - including the possibility of additional scenario content."
Its weird having the fast forward and a lot of people saw how abrupt it felt, and some regard it as strange for the developers to invest so much in older forms of characters.
On top of that, once we have all three characters added as playable characters in their own way, we will bring in Noctis from the main game as a final add-on, and give you online multiplayer co-op play using those characters."
Boom!
It's such a great thing to try and do.""
bro play this at 1.5x speed! 4:29
Fcking Epic😂.Thx.
WHY THE HELL IS THE MUSIC SO DUCKING GOOD ( duck is supposed to be f*** but yeah)
Comet-Bahamut, All knowledge of comet is Bahamut; Virtue God
Honestly, Ifrit is pretty much the last threat in the game. Ardyn is possibly the easiest final boss in the entire series.
Zythrone
indeed Ravus was a more challenging boss, Ardynn can't compare.
biorobot2 eh reminds me of how it was with witcher 3.Immerith,the firt out of the 3 supposedly main villains ends up being the hardest and was ironically a slow heavy hitting boss that teleport/dashes here and there just like ravus.
biorobot2 they dont.Luciss had the only crystal that still exists
At 1:00 - 1:03, what attack is that and how do you perform it? I've been trying to figure that out for the longest.
Warp strike on the Trident of the Oracle
Ah, so that's the Trident. I thought it was a polearm warp strike. Thanks!
Before I had went into the area to fight him I had realized I was low level and had traveled back to past Lucis and grined the shit out of the wyverns until I was level 60. I beat him EZ.
Wow, that's a lot of grinding... I just treated everything pre-Ifrit in chapter 14 as a stealth mission.
Puissant magistral quelle musique

Spoilers(?)
So I guess it's possible to skip certain parts of this fight? When I did it, I summoned Bahamut as well, I guess if you're doing enough damage the fight doesn't go on long enough for it to happen. It should definitely be scripted though, because like summoning Shiva during this fight, it was definitely different than if you had summoned her normally against other enemies.
Bahamut & Shiva will be summoned regardless, even when Ifrit is at 0 HP -- to end the battle they must be summoned. In short, it's scripted.
Shiva didn't do the snap
0/10 don't buy this game. /sarcasm
She gave him a smooch though, I think that's good enough. :P
I ship it! xD
I always shipped Ifrit and Shiva together, dunno why, but this scene was touching.
Well your ship couldn't possibly farther from the truth in this game, Ifrit and Shiva are complete opposites in terms of their motives, one seeks to help humanity, while the other cursed it. the only relationship that is hinted at is between bahamut and leviathan in the genesis painting
+game nerd I meant in the general FF series. And the summons/eidolons/primals' relationships vary in every game x)
38.
He said (to his own men): "Ye chiefs! which of you can bring me her throne before they come to me in submission?"
39.
Said an 'Ifrit, of the Jinns: "I will bring it to thee before thou rise from thy council: indeed I have full strength for the purpose, and may be trusted."
