Hi Moose! I hope your health continues to improve. Having never been to the Caribbean, riding with you on the Safari dispelled a few misconceptions I had about what many people describe as "paradise" locations. Certainly, I saw a tremendous display of natural beauty on the trip, but I also saw some things that reminded me of Eastern Kentucky.
4:38 The strip mall is made of shipping containers. My father was a welder and welded all those containers together in 1991/1992 for Chris Rosenberg (the property owner at the time). Shipping containers are in abundance there because the islands export very little (Cruzan rum mostly) but import heavily, making the containers cheap to acquire vs shipping them elsewhere empty.
Thanks Moose I came across your channel last night n subbed. The rude comments on a couple videos made it more interesting so I’m following along to see more of your boat work. About the same age I have a 63 airstream and seem to have a lot in common. Hope it’s ok to follow along. Cheers
To hitch hike in St Thomas, you do not use a thumb. You extend your arm at a about a 45º angle and point your index finger towards the ground. The more casual you are, the more likely to get a ride.
I haven't been to VI since 2016 with my grandfather on his sailboat and I'm planning a trip for June, I'm so happy I found this video because this is how we got around! Do you know if there's any good charters over there? Id love to do a day cruise on a small sail boat!
Thanks for the tour! We love St Thomas. We found the Cost U Less store had much better prices on food than the other stores. It’s like Sam’s Club or Costco without the membership .
Hey, dear friend! What a lovely ride through St. Thomas, thank you for sharing your adventures. I like that safari bus and the cafe. Seems like accessible and pleasant without costing an arm and a leg. A very beautiful island and I loved our tour with music. You put some sunshine into my day today. BTW that blue and turquoise t-shirt really suits you well and make your blue eyes stand out dear friend! 😎🌞🤩💙🙏
Glad you enjoyed it You are always so kind. The shirts are expensive shirts to help with the extreme heat and sweating, some kind of wicking fabric but seems to help.
I would never get accustomed to driving down the wrong side of the road. For that reason alone, I shall remain here in "Hicksville" USA for the rest of my days. Plus, I dont like spiders.
Near the boat, food is more than double stateside, at the town grocery stores, prices are about 40 percent higher than stateside except for some fruit. Some fruit are double to 4x, grapes are 10-15 per bag, outrageous. Gas is about 4.80 per gallon for unleaded

The world is the same everywhere and different everywhere.
Thanks for taking us on a tour of St. Thomas. We have been there several times and like to call that open air bus Mr. Toads Wild Ride.
I like that name, fits well

Great info, thanks

I understand how, just prefer not to do it
Thanks so much for the tour, Moose. I have never been there, so it was fun to see. Please do more tours when your sailing adventure begins.
This was a fun video so will do more
It seems so exotic to me. LOL, I'm just a home town girl from Massachusetts
You are so much more, smile
Loved your tour of the island, thank you! I felt right at home driving on the left side.
Glad you enjoyed it!

There are tons of charters but I am not personally aware of any of the folks offering such work, have a blast.
Awesome Tour Moose! Thanx for sharing!! Farthest south this Yankees been is Fort Lee!
You should visit some day

Yes, in same shopping area as home depot
That is one of the last remaining Kmarts in the entire world!
There are two on the island
Great video, Moose. I never made it to St. Thomas when I lived in the Caribbean. Hope you’re feeling better and things continue to improve.
One day at a time
Neat video. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the tour!
Our pleasure!
Wow what a ride, thanks. They drive on the wrong side of the road there. I guess the British influence is still strong there.
Very true
I wonder why they drive on the left since St. Thomas is a US territory. It was a Danish colony but the Danes also drive on the right side of the road.
Not sure why

The spiders there are not bad, it is the flying cockroaches that are nasty. 😉
Spiders were in abundance as were other creepy crawlies
I hate the roaches, one reason I love the cold regions
What are the prices on the island like for basic necessities?

You could get yourself an e-Bike--or an e-Trike.
I could but no room
@@MooseHenderson1 They have folding e-Bikes. Slim Potatohead has one that he keeps in the back seat of his Chevy pickup.
@@rongarrett1366 I have seen them but still to big for my available space.
