Weak male that can't stand his wife having a higher employment status than him, RUN as fast as you can away from him and his mommy.

Your husband is acting like a child and your mother-in-law has no right to interfere with your marriage.

Well done Amanda! Walk in your purpose and not in anyone's shadow. Kudos to your friend Emma!

I made more money than my husband he was happy he didn't care he was so proud of me he said it made life easier for us he was happy and so was his family and mine. I only made a coulpe of dollars than him he was a cop and I was a nurse and part time firefighter.

Hitting her with a cake is called assault. The police should have been called. Then you should have told them that since he chose his mother over me, he can live with her from now on as we are getting a divorce. By the way, this doesn't sound like something that would happen in Boston. Not impossible, but highly unlikely.

I would have left David, too. That was really immature of him, throwing a cake like that. I wonder if he's a die hard 3 Stooges fan? I'm glad Amanda got revenge.

Amanda's journey is a powerful reminder that we can reclaim our identities and find strength after betrayal

I like this story very much. Nothing about suffering years, and years, a stupid husband. First attack, running away, second day preparing divorce, and executing it, you mistreated me, I m divorcing you,. Contact cero after rhe cake attack day. Kicking out the monster and his family, no hesitation about keeping her job and her new position, and using this horrible experience to focus even more in her job, her identity, and learning lessons to help others..And I love the background, the parrots, all the birds are wonderful

How can she do all this, if she is still employed? I don't now any employers who would allow that, unless she is on leave or does it in her spare time

Did I miss the part where David had decided to stay at his mother's home since the cake incident? He doesn't seem to be staying at OP's home while all this divorce planning is going on. Also, there are probably mentoring and teaching class already available for women in finance. Maybe she is talking about volunteering to help in those classes.

Opie’s mother-in-law needs to mind her own business not everyone wants to be a mother not everyone finds it a joy and who cares if a wife makes more money than her husband a casino all days but we are living in modern times and people are still living in the old days

Sitemaster: while this story is better than the one where the husband hit her with a shoe, the constant referring to the mother-in-law as, "Mrs. Brown" or "Mrs. Johnson" is highly unrealistic.

When Amanda informed her husband and MIL of her promotion, nowhere did she mention that she had been promoted to CEO. Why the deception?

A tiny part of me can, to some extent, see where the husband (Knobhead!) is coming from: He's insecure and jealous of his wife. BUT I DON'T sympathise with him. He's a pathetic man-child who decided to throw a tantrum in public.
Personally, if my wife were to pronounce her promotion at work, id be happy for her. Id want to celebrate with her. The fact that ALL her hard work and dedication had FINALLY paid off is definitely something to celebrate.

I don't know what is wrong with some mothers . They should be happy that their sons like women and that the women love their son. These women appear to want their sons to stay under their skirts. Let them go, so they can find their own happiness and someone to accompany them when you are no longer there 😊😊 7:55

Marriage is about sacrifice, meaning have kids and stay at home doing housework, but what is the husband prepared to sacrifice and can he cope on one wage? No, a marriage is a partnership and both should support each other , not demand sacrifices for one persons convenience . Throwing the cake is as demeaning as hitting you, therefore this will happen again. You went home and slept, where did your husband go for the next several weeks? If you are taking time off work, tell your boss the whole story ........crape, what happened to the end of this story??? A new story about a new career lecturing and mentoring. Unrealistic and BS
