This track from Conway NEVER gets old....He not only knocked it out of the park, but as far as I am concerned it's by far the best version of the song I have ever heard. Love how he turned this track into his own. OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!
I would give everything to go back to this time and stay. People were so different than today. 2022 Respectful, loving, kindness, manners and most of all happy!!!🇺🇸
My dad turned 70 and I played Conway non-stop off the cassette in my car until the battery died. Dad passed away with cancer soon later. He also liked Johnny Horton and Tennessee Ernest Ford Gospel.
My father really liked Conway also and played it for all of us kids, and of course the love songs for our dear Mother. Dad lost the battle to multiple myeloma leukemia back in 1989, but left the love of music in all our hearts.
Fare as I am concerned, Conway he is the GREATEST country singer EVER... Now when it comes to the GREATEST singer of all times I'll have to go with Elvis.. but when it comes to Country Conway is the MAN.....
John Hughey working over the Emmons way up on top of it, digging his spurs into this one. Hag wrote a good one here. The Jordonaires were wringing it out too. From Shannon Burns' memoires. Love and miss her.
Conway you are the man..my man & you'll never be replaced here with me..Noone will walk in your shoes..Great memories i will always share...Love & miss you..R.I.P. Darlin!
Conway you are one of the best of the best. Love all of your music bless you.in heaven your music will live on forever thank you for being such a nice person.
It's simple. You take a great country song and give it to Conway. Guess what?? He will make it even better than the original version. Awesome job and awesome album by the master of country.
After some extensive research.....I found that this album is indeed the original album. I had a chance to buy this album at a thrift store but I declined. Unfortunately, the album was in poor condition. I am sure I will locate a better copy somewhere.
Conway's version is the best cover. Did you know Merle done some Elvis songs, and done them well, like Conway did also. Did you know Elvis cover songs by all of them, but none of Merle Haggard's.
I'm insane or just stupid sometimes.. I thought for fifty years wasted days and wasted nights was by Conway Twitty..I just found out when I got internet way back...
I think EVERYONE who covered a Merle Haggard song sang it better than he did, ESPECIALLY Conway Twitty; I don't like Haggard's voice(Ditto for Johnny Cash; Buck Owens, and George Jones, although there are a few Jones song I like because the lyrics, tunes, and orchestrations overcame his lack of a gorgeous singing voice. And his duets with Gene Pitney were superb, because of the presence of Gene Pitney!

A close second to The Hag.
Love hag but don't have vocal range Conway had. Twitty is the goat
Conway and Elvis are the best. Conway is my favorite with Elvis the 2nd. Merle, George, Walon, Jerry Lee bring up the next 4.
Beautiful! Conway could sing any song and make it his.

Did Shannon pass?? i’ve seen her comments all over great country music songs like this one! my condolences if so.

My song
A great country singer, loved his romantic songs, oozed sex appeal.
Outside of Merle this is the only version that is worthy.
Give the Ray Price version a listen, it's equally great
@@jeweldotson3891 merle won a country music award with this song
@@Royelsworth Yeah I'm well aware of that, Merle also wrote the song, However there are several great covers of this great to song,
I agree, I keep it on my car player.
