Well raised in West Brom and escaped in thd late 70's. Now living in Swindon Wilts, and have to say although West Brom was a S*** hole it makes Swindon look brilliant
Was one of the best shopping areas of the Black Country…..As usual … Swallowed up by large borough (Sandwell) It’s identity lost .. lack of investment from one of Britains worst local councils . The large pink and black building I believe cost £60million to build and it hasn’t had a proper purpose since… council corruption and mismanagement not forgotten…
How far back was this? those who know what it was like back then would really be able to see how far removed it is from what it once was. i think ive always known it like this and we are talking the last 15 yrs or so
I think the pUBLIC cost about £79 million, it wasn't wanted or asked for. The selling off of the car parks and building on them was it's death knell, and having councilors deliberately destroying the town (try to find one that lives in West Bromwich) The town I've lived in for most of my life is gone.
West Brom used to be great in the early 90s look at the place now ffss . The UK government are slowly turning places into ghost towns another 5-10 years time all towns and cities will be deserted .

Once The Golden Mile, not anymore. I grew up in West Brom, and now I wouldn't go back if you paid me
