It's funny that I just unboxed 3 of these 4 figures last weekend (asuka, kirby and marine, and also i've been really tempted with the ryza these days because of that price now), and your comments were exactly mine opening the kirby nendoroid, didn't have that issue with the base fortunately. That Marine is impecable, i'm really happy with all those figures
I think I just got a wonky base cause another comment said theirs was fine too. Thankfully it's a really small probably that doesn't stop me from using the stand
I sure wish Asuka had more hair shading, the brown to orangeish gradient on the promos looked good, also the face seemed more rounder and bubblier to me, which I'd have preferred too I think. What we got is still solid though. I've got the Mari on PO, I really like the long skirt and the pink shoes, just hope that they get the scale right. Looking forward to flannel Rei from part 3,
yo acrylic stands can complement figs very well!! I used to find them expensive too, but have seen many collections where people mix different sized figs and standees that it makes it look so unique and special!

Yeah that makes sense. My current tripod is too weak for the new camera though because it was build for my phone. Gotta buy a new one because the camera leans forward a bit and that scares the shit outta me lol
I'm definitely on board to get both Senchou's. The other one that just got teased is perfect since it's based on one of the anniversary tapestries. Definitely a must have. That being said, this Senchou is one of the stars of my collection. I'm going to display her along with the Noel one next to the "picture book" that recently got released for the pair.
Love all the radio Eva stuff. If I had unlimited money I would buy them all. Already got some radio eva bags and cloths. Just love their designs and this sort of low key anime drip

Good to see another fellow collector having both Max Factory's Ryza & Senchou, great taste thinks alike :P Dont be ashamed to have acrylic stands, as long as it makes you happy, thats all it matters despite knowing theyre on the "cheaper" side of merchandising. I havent got any acrylic stands myself yet (scared to have another line of things to weigh down on Wallet-kun) but if I do, I would try to make a second purpose use for them; like using them as book-stands/ends to hold my manga collection in place.
That Hololive figure is amazing, I absolutely love figures with elaborate bases, I hate just a round flat base, or those terrible Pop Up Parade bases, and I hate the really shiny black ones that get covered in fine scratches when you dust them. I use make up brushes for dusting and I have to dust them a few times per week. As I don’t have my figures in cases, I have them on my shelves beside my manga. I am going to get a detolf for my Evangelion & Fate scales, I don’t have any manga for those so don’t need to have them out on the shelf.

The Marine figure was almost an impulse buy for me because it looked so good. I wasn't sure if the staging they did for Marine in the photos made it appear better than it might irl, but it's cool to know it looks perfectly fine straight out of the box.
Yay Kirby! Oddly enough my base doesn't fall apart like that; it's pretty sturdy. However, I have a minor paint issue on the main face. The outline of the mouth isn't connected all the way and there is a minor scuff on one of the hands. My box also came a little crushed on the bottom which is a shame, cause I love the box. I guess since the figure is so popular, it was hard to maintain quality control. But my Kirb was safe, so it's fine. I agree with the glitter! I refuse to display with the wand cause I know the glitter would get everywhere! I'm thinking about covering the glitter part of the wand with a clear gel nail polish top coat to prevent that.

Sorry to hear your box got damaged, i'd be pretty annoyed about that, and yeah I've already had to clean glitter off my kirby despite barely touching the wand. Really don't get why they overlooked this issue
A reason why stores will try to get rid of stock quickly is simple space and money. They got to have space for other merchandise and they can reinvest the money into other things. Of course this is me assuming stuff lol.
They all look really good, even though I know nothing on any of them (except Kirby).... I agree the hololive figure demands attention! It is beautiful. I will be looking forward to see her next figure for sure.

My max factory ryza came with some annoying QC issues. The left arm does not slot fully into the body (this is an extremely common issue on mfc) and the paint on the left foot near the big toe is sloppy and it seems like they missed on the glossy coating that was supposed to cover the toenails and instead it's like all over her big toe instead. It's only noticable under certain lighting angles but nonetheless it's annoying especially on a figure where the feet are front and center.
Looking at my Ryza again, her left arm also wont slot in all the way. Kinda hard to see, but damn this figure really just has alot of issues huh. I'm thankful alot of the problems I can't really see at most angles, but it's really weird how Max Factory fumbled the bag here
I've been eyeing that Kirby quite some time ago and forgot about him! Thanks for the reminder; I picked him up immediately. Really surprised that he's a fair bit cheaper than most Nendoroids despite coming with so much, and basically being an action figure of the character.
I do like that Asuka, I’m not sure if I’ll get it, I have the 1/6 Kotobukiya (white suit) and the Revolve 1/7. I do think the paint and sculpt is excellent on this one, don’t see texture on PVC figures very often and love how they did it on her jacket. But I prefer them to be wearing clothes from the manga/anime, I don’t like when they put them in dresses and stuff, but I do love the Fila gear, and they did a good job on the face. The face on the Kotobukiya is still my favourite. I think it looks great and I love how she’s dressed, unlike the Rei which I don’t like at all.
I normally also don’t like like these wedding dress versions and whatever. But think here it’s bit different since all the cloths is actual radio eva gear u can buy. I kinda love that. Really makes it more real and also a gud change if u already own a few Asukas. Got the alter and revolve already and had to order this one as well

I am not paying that much and I don't know who would spend such a big amount of money for an acrylic stand...
Nendoroids now drive me crazy, I have 29 of them, and going forward I’m only buying the ones with joints in the arms & legs. Only making exception for the Demon Slayer ones, since I have them all and want to just continue the line. But that Kirby doesn’t even look like a Nendoroid, but it looks great, love the magnetised hands.
Still waiting for my Marine Figurine but she looks amazing. But its kinda frustrating to see that my local swiss anime shop sells the figure +100usd more then when I would buy it directly trough ebay. Oh well guess on the other side I help my local shop. On another note: I will go to Thailand next week and will go trough most of the anime shops in Bangkok . Rip my wallet

Part of me is glad I didn't immediately jump on the first Max Factory Marine scale because, as you similarly expressed, the second one in the works definitely peaks my interest more based on the illustration. I think my collection is due for a throne-type figure
Evangelion is a much of a pop culture corporate entity as Fila, if anyone is mad about an advertisement on your their display piece they shouldn't have bought fan merch in the first place... Like I get it, its not in universe and anime is art, but we're also adults here, fan merch is already paying a company so you can advertise their product on your person. And as far as I know not only is it not in universe, its not a fit or pose from the source material, its like all those miku and sonico variants, its literally made FOR the fit, no different than Leon Kennedy wearing a specific referenced and branded leather jacket.
I was thinking on buying Marine figure but I saw the announcement of her Misoji outfit( Btw Misoji means 30 years old lol :v ) and I'm going to definitely buy that one. A little update my Mytheos Surtr finally arrive~ I'm so happy~

quick new camera tip - rather than shooing up, try raising your camera and shooting at a slightly downward angle.
