The are also a lot of amazing custom worlds created by fans. Modern, industrial, fantasy-themes. The Sims 3 truly offered limitless posibilities. The Sims 4 is a test on how little they could and get away with it.

Bridgeport’s problem is the logjam at elevators, especially at the venues. If you’re there at closing, it can take two hours for your Sim to get home. As for Midnight Hollow, I once tried to build a super modern house there, with two walls of each room floor to ceiling windows, and the other two walls painted super bright colors. But the town as a whole was just so dark, and I’m so near-sighted, that it just put too much strain on my eyes.
Bridgeport had so much potential honestly. The elevators were one thing then the subway. I liked the idea but would have liked to have an option of weather I would use the subway vs a taxi and I despise the fact that unless you have boatloads out cash to get a house you cant freaking get a car
It's SO HARD to make anything suited to midnight hollow, I tried to re-do the crafter's shack for and npc family (that ended up dying bc the vampire had no relationships/couln't drink rip--) and no matter what I did, it always ended up looking super weird/out of place. Also Bridgeport is a horrid town, It's too big for the amount of lots, and I always end up spending 1-2 in game hours just getting to a bar, forget the elevators or the fame required to get in

The rumours thing is wild! My celebrity sim's reputation took a big hit for "Woo Hooing with an occult", poor guy and his vampire wife were just tryna make some little half vampire babies in their hot tub 😂
The Sims 3 is by far my favorite Sims game. There is so much to do. And the open world is a HUGE plus. Island Paradiso is a serious struggle to play but once you've discovered all the islands and level 10-ed the Scuba career you're golden. Every other world moves much better. Even the travel worlds. Adventures is crazy fun.
Just here to give some love to Roaring Heights. The team that made it put a lot of love into it. Not only is it GORGEOUS, they did an awesome job with references to people from the 20's. There's lore, there's intertwining stories, there's things to discover in the houses, the townies look beautiful, the architecture and lighting is amazing, and it has the Sims FIRST PREMADE GAY COUPLE. And oh yeah - roller coasters (with the Boardwalk set), lol. The only downside is when sims age up, they go back to insane outfits and hair. Breaks the immersion just a teensy bit. 😂 But if you play with NRaas, it's easy to change their clothes and hair again.
I agree. I also use that world as a substitute for Bridgeport since I can't stand that town, but I do enjoy skyscraper and city vibe that Bridgeport offers, but Roaring Heights does it better. Definitely one of my favourite worlds!

jesse i would love to see a world adventures mini LP from ya 🥺 i’ve been real into that pack recently and it is astounding the level of detail they put into the worlds. i LOVE doing all the tomb exploration things, the puzzles aren’t too complicated but it keeps you interested still. i have spent like an hour doing just one tomb 😂 i’ve been so shocked that they gave us that entire pack for $40 and now we get $40 expansions that barely give enough content to qualify as an expansion 🥲 sims 3 remains superior

There is a mod that brightens it! Couldn't tell you who made it but pretty sure it's on mod the Sims. It's still pretty dark but makes it a bit more playable.
Twin brooks is the best world out there and I stand by it. It had so much story, it had a diverse landscape, lots of careers, and it actually had a lot of kids! Most sims worlds were all just young adults/adults so my kids would be pretty much alone at school but not with twin brooks. I mean it also was the world I played religiously when I was younger so maybe that’s why I have such bias...
I think I should let you know that you convinced me, Jesse. I installed The Sims 3 in my PC last week to see what it was like, and I'm in love. Just today my sim made an igloo, had an eating contest, teached young Malcolm Landgraab how to roller skate and fed wild horses. I think I don't need to say anything else, do I?

Sims 3 had amazing worlds, both Maxis and fan-made. OMG, I loved some of these worlds so much! Of the Maxis, I loved playing in Aurora Skies and Monte Vista.
Monte vista is so beautiful... u really need check. I wish this kind off world in the sims 4. Miss thematic stuff in the sims 4. Monte vista is just pretty and handsome
I love how we're total opposites. Like, I love modern styles with lots of plants, lots of transparent or glass tabletops, etc., ceiling to floor windows that take up the whole wall, sleek yet comfortable furniture, dark wood for paneling and accents... Like, ITF is my SHIT. I don't really use the holograms too much but the rest of it SPEAKS to me. Yes, that includes the giant fucking virtual fish tank. The all-in-one kitchen closet also makes it super easy to make fuck-off small kitchens.
Does anyone remember the town life stuff? The pack filled with angular furniture, laundry machine, and a millennial looking buildings? I thought it was cool, but it was really shirt. You actually had to put the buildings down yourself, it was terrible for a noob who didn’t know anything about building.
I’ve stopped playing sims 4 and went back to 3. And I’m so obsessed, especially the fact that someone made Pleasantview from TS2. My days exist of work and gaming 😂
Sunlit Tides is also great, the only problem is that some buildings are too far away and sometimes it takes a long time to go from one place to another. But the world is beautiful!
Isla Paradiso is such a sad case cuz it's so beautiful, but it just runs so terribly. I had to delete all the house boats, disable horses, & delete some of the households just to get it work semi-decently. Roaring Heights I will say actually pleasantly surprised me. While it is small, I found it to be a pleasant experience as far as playing in it. It gives me that vintage 60s/70s/80s vibe.
My list would be S tier: Island Paradise, University A tier: Moonlight Falls, Sunset Valley, Appaloosa Plains B tier: Starlight Shores, Twinbrook, C tier: Into the Future, Egypt, France, China D tier: Bridgeport Don't know: I didn't play with the rest of them:(
If you ever want to go back to Midnight Hollow, I recommend brntwaffles's Midnight Dream lighting mod. It's still dark, but it's, like, easier to see at least. lol The lighting is significantly brighter. OR if you're looking for a world that's, like, brighter in tone too, I recommend blitzgal's Grey’s Harbor. It's sort of a fusion of Moonlight Falls and Midnight Hollow, with a few lots and households from each and the Midnight Hollow builds brightened up.
The one with the palm tree that you didn't know - that's Sunlit Tides. I loved Sunlit Tides, it was one of my favourite Sims 3 worlds. It was kinda similar to Isla Paradiso, but I think Isla Paradiso was more Carribean-influenced, and Sunlit Tides is more Pacific-Polynesian-influenced. It was smaller than Isla Paradiso so it didn't lag as much.
I had sims 3 for playstation and i loved the chaos of being in a huge futuristic house, getting abducted, and everything. It was beautiful chaos. Wish sims 4 had it like that.
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who can't get behind the Bridgeport apartments. Twinbrook is my favourite but I hear you; that fog in the lower town wrecks my brain and causes so much lag.
Wait did you never play with Riverview! It was the other world that came with Sims 3, you had a code to put in to unlock it! I remember when Midnight Hollow came out it was like i can't tell the buildings from the sky, they had to re do the lighting for it hahaha

Sims4 has the best building ability and is pretty fun. Sims2 is the best to create stories with but the sims3 let you do absolutely ANYTHING so I agree with you Sims4 is pretty good and each has their own thing they do really well. Glad to see you happy again.

Omg!! Same as Declan I have a fear of in-game water! I never play island worlds in The Sims 3 and never visit beaches because it makes me very anxious and I literally get panic attacks. It's very specific and weird but there's just something about it that makes me horrified.

Storybrook County from mysimrealty has a bit of an Isla Paradiso vibe. Got some islands, dive spots and a beachy vibe of its own. Plus like all EP content. I recommend her. Like all expansions in one world. Fun stuff.
Midnight Hollow wasn't just Twilight! It was Twilight AND Vampire Diaries!! I loved the mesh of references, and kept trying to find the Salvatore brothers on the Sims 3 gallery to download, lol!
Plumbella, it would be awesome to see you review Sunset Valley 2020, a fan-update of our beloved base game town that incorporates all the expansions and fixes a lot of routing issues! It would be cool to see SV2020 get more recognition, and I think you'd personally enjoy exploring it. 😊
I still think TS3 is the best one. It has all the gameplay of TS2 in my opinion, but with added creativity and endless possibilities. I’m A player since 2000 and I didn’t appreciate TS3 until the last year or so. Now I realise it’s brilliance
My favourite worlds are probably Aurora Skies, and Oasis Landing, and Champs Le Sims. Other homeworlds are pretty good, though Midnight Hollow is rather dark. Moonlight Falls is nice for a lighter world with quite a bit of open space and mostly flat lands.
I play in Twinbrook a lot and I'm so confused about the water but I'm cracking up 😂 I hardly ever see the main lake with the exception of map view because there's nothing to really do on it apart from skate when it's frozen over. I tried making a dive spot but it turns out you can't lol and the bayou area has just these little patches of water than you can barely see through the fog and swamp grass. But I am feeling the IP mood. That world could have been SO GOOD but nope, we live with the regret of what could've been 😭

You should try to download a mod and the "fixed" version of Island Paradise, this fixed version can help a little with the lag, but it won't be 100%
There's mods out there that make it work, I've been playing with Isla Paradiso the past week and it's great 🙂

The Sims 3 Generations and Late Night was a BLAST. I loved the reputation system and starting rumors then suing for slander because why not.
my favorite thing to do in late night was go to clubs and try to get the bouncers in the hot tub with me 😂 but I always got kicked out...

There is a mod that brightens it! Couldn't tell you who made it but pretty sure it's on mod the Sims. It's still pretty dark but makes it a bit more playable.
Twin brooks is the best world out there and I stand by it. It had so much story, it had a diverse landscape, lots of careers, and it actually had a lot of kids! Most sims worlds were all just young adults/adults so my kids would be pretty much alone at school but not with twin brooks. I mean it also was the world I played religiously when I was younger so maybe that’s why I have such bias...
I think I should let you know that you convinced me, Jesse. I installed The Sims 3 in my PC last week to see what it was like, and I'm in love. Just today my sim made an igloo, had an eating contest, teached young Malcolm Landgraab how to roller skate and fed wild horses. I think I don't need to say anything else, do I?

i'd love to see jesse do this! i bought lucky palms a few months ago and loved it! it ended up not being ideal for my sims family legacy but it was their home for a while! ps. lifesimmer's generations also had an impact with me buying it

Sims 3 had amazing worlds, both Maxis and fan-made. OMG, I loved some of these worlds so much! Of the Maxis, I loved playing in Aurora Skies and Monte Vista.

I love how we're total opposites. Like, I love modern styles with lots of plants, lots of transparent or glass tabletops, etc., ceiling to floor windows that take up the whole wall, sleek yet comfortable furniture, dark wood for paneling and accents... Like, ITF is my SHIT. I don't really use the holograms too much but the rest of it SPEAKS to me. Yes, that includes the giant fucking virtual fish tank. The all-in-one kitchen closet also makes it super easy to make fuck-off small kitchens.
Does anyone remember the town life stuff? The pack filled with angular furniture, laundry machine, and a millennial looking buildings? I thought it was cool, but it was really shirt. You actually had to put the buildings down yourself, it was terrible for a noob who didn’t know anything about building.
I’ve stopped playing sims 4 and went back to 3. And I’m so obsessed, especially the fact that someone made Pleasantview from TS2. My days exist of work and gaming 😂
Lucky Palms and Roaring Heights are one of the best worlds in TS3, their aesthetic is on point. The former even has a decent lore.
Sunlit Tides is also great, the only problem is that some buildings are too far away and sometimes it takes a long time to go from one place to another. But the world is beautiful!
Aurora Skies is such a beautiful world (but very broken with an "unofficial" version I had)

Isla Paradiso is such a sad case cuz it's so beautiful, but it just runs so terribly. I had to delete all the house boats, disable horses, & delete some of the households just to get it work semi-decently. Roaring Heights I will say actually pleasantly surprised me. While it is small, I found it to be a pleasant experience as far as playing in it. It gives me that vintage 60s/70s/80s vibe.

If you ever want to go back to Midnight Hollow, I recommend brntwaffles's Midnight Dream lighting mod. It's still dark, but it's, like, easier to see at least. lol The lighting is significantly brighter. OR if you're looking for a world that's, like, brighter in tone too, I recommend blitzgal's Grey’s Harbor. It's sort of a fusion of Moonlight Falls and Midnight Hollow, with a few lots and households from each and the Midnight Hollow builds brightened up.

The one with the palm tree that you didn't know - that's Sunlit Tides. I loved Sunlit Tides, it was one of my favourite Sims 3 worlds. It was kinda similar to Isla Paradiso, but I think Isla Paradiso was more Carribean-influenced, and Sunlit Tides is more Pacific-Polynesian-influenced. It was smaller than Isla Paradiso so it didn't lag as much.
She is the most relatable human being ever. I am saying that though as someone who also comes in neuro-atypical flavors so.
I had sims 3 for playstation and i loved the chaos of being in a huge futuristic house, getting abducted, and everything. It was beautiful chaos. Wish sims 4 had it like that.

Wait did you never play with Riverview! It was the other world that came with Sims 3, you had a code to put in to unlock it! I remember when Midnight Hollow came out it was like i can't tell the buildings from the sky, they had to re do the lighting for it hahaha

Sims4 has the best building ability and is pretty fun. Sims2 is the best to create stories with but the sims3 let you do absolutely ANYTHING so I agree with you Sims4 is pretty good and each has their own thing they do really well. Glad to see you happy again.

Omg!! Same as Declan I have a fear of in-game water! I never play island worlds in The Sims 3 and never visit beaches because it makes me very anxious and I literally get panic attacks. It's very specific and weird but there's just something about it that makes me horrified.

Storybrook County from mysimrealty has a bit of an Isla Paradiso vibe. Got some islands, dive spots and a beachy vibe of its own. Plus like all EP content. I recommend her. Like all expansions in one world. Fun stuff.
Midnight Hollow wasn't just Twilight! It was Twilight AND Vampire Diaries!! I loved the mesh of references, and kept trying to find the Salvatore brothers on the Sims 3 gallery to download, lol!

I fully agree. I always was extremely fond of the Sims 3 Worlds....everything went wrong with the Sims 4....EA,bunch of greedy bastards!
My favourite worlds are probably Aurora Skies, and Oasis Landing, and Champs Le Sims. Other homeworlds are pretty good, though Midnight Hollow is rather dark. Moonlight Falls is nice for a lighter world with quite a bit of open space and mostly flat lands.

I play in Twinbrook a lot and I'm so confused about the water but I'm cracking up 😂 I hardly ever see the main lake with the exception of map view because there's nothing to really do on it apart from skate when it's frozen over. I tried making a dive spot but it turns out you can't lol and the bayou area has just these little patches of water than you can barely see through the fog and swamp grass.
But I am feeling the IP mood. That world could have been SO GOOD but nope, we live with the regret of what could've been 😭
