This was a lot darker than I thought it would be, It's perfect!! He's letting himself lose and it's just what I love to see, everyone should be able to express themselves like him.

yes he made this song all by himself as well. and jeff has a very crazy vocal range. he always hits those high notes live too and they always look so easy for him. hes too good.

this song is like about being in a toxic relationship. that you've been hurt so much that now you just "dum dum" with the pain. the official mv has different sides like you either let the pain destroy you or some decide to take revenge. and also the unchained version i think shows how he's a "prisoner" or stuck in this toxic relationship. and now he's enjoying the pain.
Ahhh ok! I need to listen to him talk about his songs. Everything artists make can mean so many different things, but ofc I want to know what his own feelings were while making it.

The thing that looks like a Guitar is a Thai traditional instrument (It's a Thai form of lute) located in the Northeast, I don't know the English name for it, but in Thai we call it พิณ (Phin, Pronounced as Pin)

@@2J-Reacts Yeah, it's the sound of the instrument at the beginning of the Thai version and English version, he plays it a few times in his concert, it's a very unique sound that if Thai people hear they will definitely think of northeast music, I'm glad that he's brought it into his music it's invited so much attention of international fans. Jeff's Thai and English versions of songs all has different but similar lyrics. They're giving same story/topic, but is made so words fit the music in both versions. Jeff's a bit of a genius in how well he does this. Black Tie is his first directly to English release that he has made, and it won't be released in a Thai version. Normally he release a Thai version first, but Black Tie started out with English lyrics, and was too difficult to 'rewrite' to fit Thai lyrics that made sense.
You really would love Why don't you Stay. The Thai version is more guitar based but the English is live and uses the piano, they are both stunning and his voice.....amazing

Но есть еще одна версия, которая мне нравится: опыт токсичных отношений не романтических, а в музыкальной сфере (продюсеры, компании, фанаты). Я не говорю, что это его личный опыт - Джефф прекрасно умеет использовать в своих работах прочитанное и увиденное. Но расширить свое личное переживание так, чтобы там появился и другой смысл, другой уровень - ведь это и есть искусство? И он уже делал так с Fade.

Oh I love your thoughts on it, and I think artists often use romantic relationships as a disguise for singing about other topics, so I'm pretty convinced that this is about the industry. But of course he's not going to say that in an interview, so he can just be hiding the truth while still not lying 👍

Stop trying to figure out storylines from MVs. Most of the time they don't have one. You need to check out "Why Don't You Stay" Live version, another masterpiece from Jeff.
How do you mean? That his MVs are not connected to each other, or there's no story in the same MV? I wasn't connecting this to Black Tie, just trying to figure out this one.
