Wonderful video! I just graduated (class of 2022) and about to start attending cc. I was kind of in the same boat as you, graduated top of my class with a 4.6gpa and spent years in countless extracurriculars (competitive cheerleading, boxing, sailing…) whilst taking over 10 AP’s. Unfortunately, applying as a computer science major I was rejected from UCLA and UCB which was rough given how much my heart was set on attending them. Especially, being from the Bay Area, specifically Marin, community college was frowned upon from both counselors and teachers. With this said, I am looking forward to experiencing cc and enjoying the extra time I have left at home. Any who 😂 the whole admissions process has pushed me to explore my options and I have landed on a major that reflects my interests, Applied Mathematics!
I am sorry to hear about the rejections, but I am glad to hear you have a growth mindset! I think you’ll have a great experience wherever you go, even if it’s not some big name university - it’s their loss!
Maybe I missed it in your video, but I'm genuinely interested in how social life was for you there (fitting in, finding friends, etc.) Awesome video man you're my inspiration now, coming from a first year CC student looking to transfer to Cal!
Hi Ian, thanks for letting me know. I just posted a video to talk about this: Social life at UC Berkeley - from an engineer ruclips.net/video/96T4j1nzKNo/видео.html I hope it helps and let me know if you have any questions. Good luck!
Great story, congrats! I just transferred to Berkeley too :) Love seeing fellow CC students succeed!
Thanks Hannah! Congrats to you too and I wish you the best.
