When I was 25 my husband got Pancreatic Cancer. Within 2 years he passed away. I stayed there and took care of him. That's what love does. I was 27 had 2 kids and was a widow. I stayed away from dating. When I heard that woman divorced her husband after he got cancer pissed me off. How weak.

sorry for your loss. In my case I was making $200k+ a year before I had a motorcycle accident and could no longer work because of a brain injury. Inside of 3 years, she came home one night and said 'Im not happy I am leaving you'. I was still getting 80k a year in insurance income support BUT I was making less than she did. We could still afford the mortgage, but I was making less than she was.

I saw every possible way marriage could go wrong. The wasted time, money, energy, emotions. Marriage became an activity I simply never wanted to participate in, and I've been independent, reasonably happy, and solvent my whole life.
I fully understand why you feel the way you but may I ask if your in a long term relationship? Don't you want to share your life with someone? I'm not trying to be funny I'm just genuinely curious. Commenting on the first woman... My wife and I met at mid-life and dated for several years before I proposed. When she met me, I was an engineer, a triathlete, and a competitive cross country mountain bike racer. A month before we got married, I had a 3rd spine surgery but I didn't recover well from this one... 3 more surgeries later, I had to file for disability. She didn't bat an eye. She stepped up her career and assumed the breadwinner role. We've been happily married 15 years. There are good women out there but they are few and far between.

Started that after we met, 4 years later I had a massive stroke and almost lost half my brain.
I tried my hardest to keep up with the normal bills. Mortgage, 3 vehicle insurance payments (my mothers car I bought for her, my classic car , and my jeep gladiator),
I am now dipping into retirement to keep up. However, my now wife has taken care of me since the stroke physically as well as financially starting next month.
Disability takes a long time to establish and should be starting getting my payments also next month.
I can't cook for myself, and always forgetting the simple things like.brush my.teeth, take a shower, forget why I go into the bathroom, etc....
I do make my own coffee though, and I'm not in a wheelchair.

5'4", 180 pounds that she admits to. With a woman, that typically means she weighs 200 pounds but, even at 180 she is way overweight. My woman is 5'4" and she weighs 115 to 120 and she is slightly overweight. This woman also left her husband when he was fighting cancer. She wants to claim he was being abusive but was he? One of the abuses she claims was financial abuse. In other words, the cancer treatments were costing a lot and he was trying to stop her from spending too much.
Knowing all this, what man would look at this woman and think it is a good idea to be in a relationship with her? Especially a high earning man because that is primarily what women want and the main focus of KS? Why would any high earning man even consider an extremely overweight woman with a crap attitude?

And I do it, because I'm a man, even if being a man no longer really seems to get you much of anything in return.

In Australia we have the “two year rule”. If you live as a couple or are married for two years, then separate, everything you both own is split 50/50. If you have kids under 18 (even from previous relationships), the the percentage split is higher for the custodian. These are the reasons why men are cautious and wary about getting into long term relationships. The consequences can ruin your life, especially as you get older, because if you’re at the end of your career, you’re earning capacity diminishes making it difficult to recover financially after divorce.

I divorced late 40's with 3 kids and she got just about everything, it's tough starting again at 48 and I ended up with GB£40k in legal bills while she paid nothing. I'm in a good place now though 7 years down the line and she's the one with nothing except debt.
