Joe opens up about what addiction and sobriety have been like for him including many of his lowest moments, the failure of rehab and what life looks like now he has been sober for many years. Menace II Sobriety Live brings the up & coming podcast to the live stage; hosted by Daniel O'Reilly and a special guest, no topic is off-limits. Combining humour with stories and issues which both Daniel and the audience will have experienced, whether first hand or through someone they know. Offering an environment for people to openly discuss their struggles was Daniel's main focus behind starting the podcast, as well as his M.A.T.E group; so now he also brings it to the stage and to the public.
What can people expect at the live podcast:
Join Daniel at Menace II Sobriety Live, as he discusses all things sobriety, ADHD, mental health and more. The podcastwill be recorded live with a special guest, including audience interaction and finishing with an open Q&A.
Daniel will not only be discussing sobriety, but everything life throws at us, and he would love for you to join him. Bring your tissues and your sense of humour, because we have no idea what topics will be discussed, but whatever the conversation, it'll be a supportive environment and may contain some dad jokes.
    Story behind the podcast:
The Menace II Sobriety podcast was set up after Daniel faced his own battles with sobriety, ADHD, mental health and certain life scenarios. He set up a M.A.T.E group on Facebook, so that men could support men in an accessible, open and friendly environment. Upon seeing the responses from men around the world to some of the posts on the group, Daniel was blown away by the kindness and support of strangers. This led him to create the podcast, inviting a range of guests from different backgrounds, sharing his own personal experiences & struggles; and now, opening up to the public in a live environment, where people can come along and watch in-person, or get involved in the audience interaction.

@@lizclarkson8720 that’s part of the problem for most of us. Somehow rationalise getting a half that will be it, but it never is. I’ve noticed I can go out for a few pints so lines, but once people start to go home and go to bed I will be up till the early hours. Making sure I’ve always got abit left for myself. Strange behaviour.

Great podcast, one of my favs with the Menace so far... Joe is a legend & the respect he always openly gives to Nicole is refreshing & fkin fabulous.... IF you are lucky enough to have a solid loyal partner supporting you through the toughest times, respect is the least they deserve (more geezers especially ought to take note) Fair to say - as Joe did say - most should leave though even temporarily because when drugs are or become a priority, most users want/rely on a "carer", an enabler/facilitator.... the exact opposite of what users need to sort themselves out.

What he said when he said he never wanted to do it and always wanted to stop, that was the same as me saying that from the age of 16. I did all sort back then but now I just drink a sniff unfortunately, I can go 8 weeks clean then I’ll end up doing it again, then again few weeks, sometimes 8 if I’m lucky then mess it up again. Off my head now watching this, I had my daughter over for the weekend and was even sneaking off to the toilet and having a bump whilst she’s here. Just want to knock it on the head once and for all, these podcasts help me so much as all these guests are people I relate to, gives me hope I can stop completely. I use to fight professionally and that was only time I’d be clean during fight camp, so I relate to you training dapper. But I’m 35 now and full of injury’s to stopped fighting two years ago but still train at the gym every morning before a 12 hour shift, also started making my bed first thing like kirk said and it helps. I was also diagnosed with adhd 4 years ago. I also served in the French foreign legion which gave me the biggest natural buzz ever when we were out on tour but always went back to partying when we were back home again.
