Hunter has been a STUD since he added that sinker to his pitch selection, his season numbers don't do him justice rn
His era was in the mid 16.00 earlier this yr so he’s been fighting hard to get it down to even 5.00! That’s was a tough hill he put himself but now that era is gradually coming down!
He’s got a great 4 seamer and changeup so that sinker works perfectly with his other pitches

I always love it when the opposing commentators play up their pitcher (ie "He's the best pitcher in the AL") and then he falls apart in one inning. I also like the fact that some commentators were talking like the Tigers were going to light Brown up but they couldn't even plate one run. Speaking of brown, of his 9 strikeouts, 2 of them were in the 7th!
He is arguably one of the best pitchers in the AL right now lol. He had one bad game which people like to overlook Hunter's 15 bad games because the last 2 were solid.
It's just like that other night where the commentator mentioned Brown's stats being awful, the dude is just bringing up statistics because what else can you say before the game? "Today is Skubal at the mound....I could tell you about his 2.2 era in 10 games and an insane 98 strike outs with only 62 hits, but instead I'll talk about the weather, maybe about my pet dog that decided to eat laxatives last weekend, maybe about my ex-wife because I hate her, not as much as my current wife am I right fellars? hurhurhur"
like if anyone saw Justin Verlander pitch only this season, they'd think he was terrible, but if you put in his near 3400 strikeouts overall, the fact that he's 41, and some of his other stats, it puts in to perspective how one good or bad game can be deceiving of actual skill.
Gotta like when our pitching does well.

I still feel bad for Abreu, dude is a great player just didn't like being with Houston. Hopefully he goes back to the White Sox and helps make the team a non-laughing stock lol
I hold no ill will towards the man. He just had to go. If anything, I'm wanting Bagwell to go back to being the funny, grumpy old man in the TV booth once a week and stop making roster decisions.
@@jamesmartin9401 I mean, he was a great fit with his stats, it's just he didn't get along with the team like he did in Chiacgo. You could tell when he first started what was it 80 games last season he never looked excited, but as soon as they played the White Sox he was happy and messing around in their dugout and when they started doing the weird hats last season after home runs he was enjoying himself and actually did well in the offseason. Tack on his slump and the "fans" on social media getting extremely upset that the team is losing (even though 99% of it was on the pitching being completely trash) and took it out on him, just made him 10x worse.
I don't know much about Bagwell's picks, but I don't think it was the wrong call per se, he was an excellent hitter with Chicago, it's just hard to predict the human element of "Belonging somewhere" and you could tell he was just "homesick" and didn't enjoy being around everyone like he did in Chicago.
That wasn't it. Ti e to retire. He won on the end tho. He is due $19 Million a year for the next 2 years. Never liked the trade
