- Meyrick park golf club is the venue for our 2nd round of the year against Olly. I am currently leading 1-0 in the series. Olly is looking to tie it up.

Brilliant to see this course again, this is where i learnt to play golf during the 60s, sneaked on the 4th at 7am when the parky came to collect the fees we hid in the bushes.
It's a cracking course... If the condition was kept up it would be fantastic!

The general public are mad... That guy on the last hole jst walked straight out of the bushes! Pretty sure he didn't check for golfers at all.
That's great news about golf day. Let's hope it goes ahead.. Surely will be fine by September.

I'm just back in from work and will be playing my second round since the easing of restrictions in a couple of hours. My main complaint is that the greens were not set up anywhere near the same speed as my bedroom carpet.... I shall be writing a strongly worded letter, full of self-righteous indignation, to the committee
Haha.. I'm sure it won't be the first letter like that, that they have received. Lol.

@@RealgolfWD Yep it's brilliant to be back out. They had a neat and simple gadget for the holes; there's a sleeve over the bottom 18 inches of the pin with a disc on the bottom and a hook at the top which lift up with your putter to get the ball out of the hole, so then holes are, more or less the same depth as usual.
Nice.. I saw those on a video somewhere. Theyve got to be the best ones. Means the holes play as they should with no doubt.
@@RealgolfWD Yeah, it's a dead simple solution. Mind you, I'm just back in from a round and they didn't help with my woeful putting.

Lots of picnicers out there.. Really let's it down which is a shame. The course layout is excellent. That's the problem with being in the middle of Bournemouth I suppose.. Mad what some people actually do.
I'm sure it's worse since the lockdown too. More people have discovered it

Hey , all good? I tried to get a teetime there last week, no luck, full, went to Iford bridge , was very dry, the greens were average and the holes where shockingly bad!! Nice walk though, hopefully we will be allowing visitors soon at Ampfield, as soon as they are i will be in touch, regards Fraser
Defintely. Let me know... Yeah, Iford is not great, super flat! I don't mind it... Condition can be so variable tho... Surprised meyrick didn't have a tee! There were loads the day I booked.. Didn't book it until the morning of. Was so suprised

I had a Hole in One at the first, off the back tee , 243 yds. Shot 65 nett 60. July 2006.

Played there and Queen’s Park when I was holidaying over 40 years ago I remember that 1st hole very steep

Opening hole is a killer, managed to get my 7 iron within a few feet✅

Got my first eagle yesterday with a chip in from 50 yards on the 9th at Paultons to hit a level par 36 on the front 9. Finished 5 over in the end. I need 8 weeks off more often 😂😂 If you’re free for a round next week let me know just can’t do Tuesday or Wednesday 👍🏻

It's the wife's birthday this week so no golf for me. Lol
DGS Golf Vlogs I’ve had loads of chances at eagle but never had one so I was pretty happy. No it’s open back up to play all 18 again and back there tomorrow. The greens were quite quick to be fair to them. Still a little bobbly but give it couple weeks it’ll be in great shape. Fairways in really good condition and no dog walkers in sight 😂

I'm struggling to play. Every tee time gets booked up before I get the chance. We have to get off 2 balls asap. Lovely course, looks amazing, brilliant designer.
Crane is booked up for the next 2 weeks... Unless I wanna play after 6, I'm not able to get out
DGS Golf Vlogs are they doing 9 or 18 holes? Down at Hartley Wintney, it’s limited to 9 holes so can get out on the 1st and 10th tee, we allowed to play 4 days out of 6, I am able to get out 4 days over the 6.there are about 700 members at my club.
That's a good plan.. Share it out a bit. Crane doin full 18, tee times still only 8 mins apart. There asking for people to be sensible with booking tees but a lot of people are missing out

@@RealgolfWD I've found somewhere to play on bank holiday monday so I can have 18. Tell Ollie I have really bad hair too but it doesn't look good on me LOL
