- I couldn't find this subbed in English with Japanese audio anywhere on RUclips so I thought I'd upload this for those who like their anime subbed.
I personally do so yeah.
Credits for this sub go to Static-Subs and Eclipse.
Sorry to those two fansub groups who did a marvelous joint on this anime, because I downgraded their quality through a crappy video editor and plus messed it up even harder by getting it thrown onto youtube.
Anyways, yeah, I liked the Tomoyo and Kyou arcs way more than the rest of the Clannad series.

LOL Why is everyone hating on Tomoya? He's actually not being selfish by letting her pursue her goals. That bit about his feelings was just a lie to make the break-up happen, which is why he was crying at the end. They get back together near the end of the episode after she has fulfilled some of her goals.

I think tomoya is just realised that he is not good enough for tomoyo.. Beside, tomoyo was a president council (correct me if I'm wrong) and he is just a trouble maker. That moment he realised is just too late, since they already dated. So he breaks up with her, so tomoyo can pursue her goals without pain in the head :v
To do something like this is simply not as easy as flipping your hand, because tomoya loved her too.. And he lied (yep)

Khrisna Yudhi i did something similar in the past, the only difference is its not having a girlfriend. There was a girl who liked me, though she is out of my league and i turned her down for being too pathetic, i should have done my best to improve myself to make myself worthy of her but i didnt cause i was stupid. But now im alot more mature now probably.

Why are people saying that Tomoya is stupid? Tomoyo has a goal, but he lets her go because he feels as if he is weighing her down and that she wouldn’t be able to fulfill her dream. If you know that they can achieve more than what they are now, let them go so that they can become a better person.
Clannad's too mature of a story for most people, I think. There's nuances and reasons why the characters are doing what they are more than just what they say directly. Then again, Clannad IS categorized Seinen, not Shonen/Shojou.
b-but if they loved each other then they would support each other no matter what,, relationships should be hard but if ur with the right ppl then it’d be ok

@@girlustinky9470 Real word unfortunately isn't as kind to such people who decide to go that way. Tomoya being broke as shit and all probably sees where Tomoyo will end up if she decides to stick with him so he wants her to at least set herself up for a chance at a better future instead of being dragged down the gutter like him. It's a very noble and unselfish action done by him and probably shows just how much he cared about her.

im really glad they gave each of the girls a ova where they got their man. I know nagisa is his main but really hes a lucky guy to have anyone love him. So many men end up alone not by choice. So many paths not taken and wrong turns. You really can end up with a BAD ending in life.

It's a really great show with alot of great comedy. And feels
Like moral say "If you can't learn to take care and love yourself, you can't take care and love other." My opinion, good thing Tomoya made that choice for Tomoyo's future goals. So she can have the best life without him. And he can have the time to grow and taking care of himself.
Even after all these years this scene for me is still probably one of the most dramatic scenes ever made. With the magic of KyoAni animation, voice acting, the expressions of the characters and with the cherry on top that ost is just oh god.

I can see it, although I agree Nagisa is a better choice. However, all three girl 'stories' are believable. In case you didn't know, there is also a special episode where Tomoya winds up with Kyou.

I'm glad I didn't watch this anime because this scene is totally wrong and being selfish , I have a girlfriend and this is same scenario she said my decision is so selfish that I think I'm just weighing to focus on her goal and she said "don't think of it again or I'll kill you" Now she's living with me in our house and yes I'm lucky that she's mature enough to handle my stupidity.
I loved this ova, and i love the reality in this aspect. She was very gifted, and tomoyo wasn't limited by any means. He toughened up later down the road.

This reminds me of the one with Alex Man & Carina Lau from the Feud of Two Brothers. Alex decides to break up with Carina, knowing that she’s a talented singer with a huge goal to achieve, and doesn’t want her to feel regrets if they stay together and get married.
It's also similar to La La Land. The two main leads pursue their dreams, but lose each other in the process.
