The Michigan Wolverines secured their first National Championship since 1997, fending off the Washington Huskies. The last time Michigan was holding that trophy, Titanic was crushing it in the box office, Tom Brady was riding the bench as Michigan's backup QB, and the Chicago Bulls were approaching their 6th title.
It was a three year battle to reach the top, one that was riddled with sign-stealing and rumors. Jim Harbaugh and Co. was able to hold the Huskies to one touchdown and put up impressive 303 yards on the ground. As college football heads to the twelve-team playoff next season, Washington will now join their competitor in the Big Ten and face the National Champs on October 10th.
