The original song is a 1978 psychaedelic track by the band Sanullim of which the older man watching them (Kim Chang Wan) was a member . It sounds totally different from this which is why people look surprised.

Loved your reaction and can totaly relate. They send shivers down my spine everytime I listen to them. Listen to them singing the songs Champions and Lazenca Save Us. Both songs are compelling songs.
Woorim has also sung Avi Kaplin's Change On The Rise, but one of my favourite songs performed by him is A Million Roses.
