We recommend you to visit the Fairy Chimneys in Nevsehir (towns are called Urgup/Goreme and their around) which is the middle Anatolia. The Chimneys is so popular one of the landmark of Turkey.
Kendine has mimarisi, insanı

No, as a Turkish I can say, British people are very lovely and friendly!!! In 2000, i stayed in London for english classes and one night the metro stopped working because of winter storm, so all the people left the metro and I couldn't figure out where I was and I was lost. A very nice gentlemen with suit helped me a lot to find my way (no internet, no smart phone, no english, was pretty scary for me).

Honestly, I loved hearing alot about Turkey and I love to go there. Family ties and all, I wasn't excepting such a scathing view of England though (definitely not the whole UK).
It did kind of hurt, as someone who has travelled up and down the UK extensively, it seriously felt like Jay's view was entirely localised on his opinions of a newspaper or two and just a borough and a town on the coast. The culture, linguistic and culinery diversity across the country is usually underplayed but I've almost never heard one so brutish about it.
It is really sad to hear any country described in this way. I say England as opposed to the UK here because it really doesn't apply but even as far as fenlands, the midlands and Cornwall there is such a stark difference it really is just a shame it was all swept off.
I'll leave an example. From any of the houses I've lived in I could walk a few hours (or drive 30 minutes) and pass atleast two churches over 500 years old, a handful of pubs, through 3 or 4 different regional accents, probably see people from at least 6 or 7 different cultures (the who varies across the country) as well as see statues and plaques of a dozen or two kings, poets, war heroes, authors, artists, human rights activists and more. You will never be more than 1h away from a beach, royal/national park or protected area of natural beauty by car.
Let's say Jay's dislike of where he's been in the UK by no means is a good enough view of it.
I will say though, on the topic of Turkey. I agree, I absolutely love İzmir and İstanbul and I can't wait for my next visit. Best wishes and hope for the economy and health! I love your vids Reşat! Keep it up.

    • @yvonneyelken9431

CM, completely agree with your summary. Having lived on the outskirts of Manchester, the wilds of mid-Wales and the multi-cultural cities of Birmingham and Leicester (and many places in between) I think there is a huge diversity in the UK.
The culture speaks for itself; Viking, Norman and Saxon invasions! Shakespeare, Wordsworth, the Bronte sisters and Robbie Burns. The Industrial revolution. A couple of the oldest Universities in the World.
I think Jay's view is based on his experience of living in Cornwall, which whilst part of the beautiful countryside of the UK has not played a huge part in the evolution and expansion of the Country.

BRW I LIVE HERE IN UK, THE HOUSES AND SIZES ARE ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE AND OVER PRICED. IM SPEAKING FROM FACTS. INFACT I WOULD SAY ENGLAND HAS THE SMALLEST AND WORST HOUSES IN EUROPE. Great video but I feel like this video is too pro Turkey when Jay speaks😂 I appreciate Reşat’s objective evaluations though🤍…...a few points; I don’t agree with the unfriendliness in the UK, maybe it’s my experience being a young woman here but I’ve been living in London for 8 years and every English person I met have been so polite and helpful. I’ve never encountered a rude behavior. I always see rude people in Turkey, in traffic, in public places etc… maybe people are nice to him because he is a foreigner? Also, Turkey is at the moment struggling with cold snow and - minus degrees , but it never snows in the UK and its sunny and warm here at the moment. I really believe Jay being British, his taste and preferences are different. There are attractive people in Turkey yes but compared to average british , percentage wise , a lot less there… natural beauties and food in Turkey is always better yes-and healthcare… guys, healthcare!!! Health system sucks in the 🇬🇧, therefore “ beni Türk hekimlerine emanet ediniz!”.. overall I’d say both countries has its pros and cons💓

Because of Uzungöl videos, I travelled to Trabzon for Uzungöl (in June 2022). From that experience, I think Trabzon people are more religious that people in other cities in Turkiye that I have visited (Istanbul, Izmir, Antalya, Goreme). The Friday prayer in the mosque in Trabzon is so full, so that many people have to pray outside. When entering premises, people say "Assalamualaikum" rather than "Merhaba". And I think the percentage of women wearing hijab are higher in Trabzon.

There are more religious cities than Trabzon. Besides, there are cities where alcohol is drunk like water :)

AS AN ENGLISH MAN I WOULD AGREE THAT ENGLAND PEOPLE ARE VERY PRIVATE IN NATURE AND CLOSED OF FROM ANY CONVERSATIONS. TURKEY IS EXACTLY OPPOSITE AND A DOZEN PEOPLE CAN PARTICIPATE IN A CONVERSATION THE SAME TIME. I HAVE EXPERIENCE OF THIS ALSO IN ENGLAND. TURKEY IS JUST FUN AND PEOPLE ARE VERY OPEN TO CONVERSATION AND SOCIETY AS A WHOLE. ALSO THE BEAUTIFUL TURKISH WOMAN HAS MORALS TO LIVE BY, UNFORTUNATELY CANT SAY THAT ABOUT ENGLISH WOMEN ... TO CHEAP IS MY EXPERIENCE FOR THE ENGLISH WOMAN.
