Her twirling is actually extremely basic. No roll series, finger twirls, variation in her catches, or spins under tosses. And that's just her regular one baton solo.
It's easy until a gust of wind kicks up. Our twirler in High School burned her arm when this happened one night. We all felt so bad for her... she was a champion twirler and even twirled knives. Her name was Eileen Daly.
I never understand why marching bands play music like that. I’ve seen them try to do Beethoven and Mozart and it just doesn’t work. Stick to tunes that the crowds want to hear. She did a great job.
Her tennis shoes are old school. Back in the 1960's and 1970's many times twirlers wore Keds while performing. We wore ours at pep-rally's on Fridays and performed in majorette boots for field shows.
@Painindeass1million Her twirling IS very basic. She does no roll series, finger twirls, there is no variation in her toss catches like backhand or head catches, and no spins under tosses. Even a single or double spin is better than just standing there waiting for the baton to come down.

Sometimes im so used to twirling fire that i forget that people think its cool to do certain stuff but i think its so easy

Bands dont play for the crowds they play for themselves. The first song was litterally just a ballad, almost every show has one.
