      I'm not in Kansas City near as much as I would like to be sometimes, but next time I'm there if you are interested we could probably get you to come down and see the layout, and run some trains on the Sedalia Sub.

      Thanks Mike. I have to admit that every time I'm working on a model, at some point a thought goes through my mind... if only this could look as good as that mine building Mike did" Your paint work and weathering is fantastic.

      MidwestModelRR Steve, that is a compliment, I do appreciate it. I had a lot of fun on that New River Mine build and took my time on it to. I have to admit, its probably one of the most detailed models I have. I even look at it sometimes and say "wow" that looks good. But, I think this to, that its all about time! I always seem to want to rush through the builds, racing for the end and find myself skipping steps! lol! so, many of my models just aren't that detailed. Just so you know, your models are fantastic, you have some great modeling skills and I really enjoy watching your video's. I find that much of what you do, I do to! :) I watch so ever closely so I can try and pick up something new that I can use on my models.

      It was a fun build, but some of those small parts in N Scale are a bit of a pain.

      Didn't realize it was N scale. Mine is HO which should be a little easier to handle. Anxious to see the build your planning. Great work as always.

    Steve just great like from start to finish one question you say you don't like spray paints how did you paint all the pieces in the trays cheers Robert

    • @MidwestModelRR
      @MidwestModelRR  10 лет назад

      I used spray paint for this one, I just find that spray paint has a larger particle size than I like, making the paint appear thick on the model. On some models it doesn't make a difference, but I did notice on this one, some of the line detail was lost on one side of one shed.

  • @brianwaugh998

    very nicely done. Do you seal in the weathering powders on your buildings ? If yes what would you recommend using

    • @MidwestModelRR
      @MidwestModelRR  10 лет назад

      Brian, I do seal the weathering powders. I used to use Testors dulcote but that can get quite expensive. What I have started using instead is just a matte spray from home depot. It come in a standard size spray can and cost less than the small can or dulcote. The particles of the matte spray are going to be larger than those of the dullcote, but i just make sure to keep plenty of distance between the nozzle and the model and put it on in light coats.

    Excellent work on the lumber buildings. Could you build me a Trim tower like the one at the Bailey yard North Platte, Neb. It's the L shaped building straight north of the spike tower.
