I had one of these as a kid in Australia. They were sold as a Philips Videopac here. I also remember zapping myself on those big caps when I was pulling it apart!
Yep the Videopac. Fun times taking, it apart I see. Yeah watch those caps, shouldn't have been too bad of a zap though. But getting zapped by a CRT flyback. 🤣Yeah that hurts. 😲
@@RetrogamerGenX While I'm not certain as it was +30 years ago, I remember the Australian version had the power supply built in? I don't recall an external power brick.
@ I’ve been trying to hook an Odyssey 2 to a tv so I can figure out if it works. I’ve tried everything I can think of, tried what you recommended and nothing is working. I’m ready to throw it out the window. Any suggestions?
What kind of tv are you hooking it up to, a modern flat screen (atsc only), an older flat screen (atsc & ntsc), or a crt (ntsc/pal)? The Odyssey 2 is only compatible with ntsc signals. Unless it's the Philips Videopac, then its Pal compatible.
@ That was also my thought. I am using an older Panasonic because my flat screens are mounted and difficult to access the back. I was thinking the tv couldn’t convert the signal even though I tried running it through a dvd player first. I also have an older flat screen that I may be able to access the back so will try that.
The Backbit Pro supports this system. It has multiple adapters you can buy to work with several other consoles and computers. Awesome product I'll be purchasing and reviewing in the future.
That's cool, I just looked it up. I don't own any Harmony/Uno cart for the atari 2600 yet, but this looks like a better way to go. Look forward to the review.@@RetrogamerGenX

The fact something spilled in it, thing shoulda been drenched in contact cleaner lol.
🤣🤣🤣Right!!! Yeah it was nasty. Off camera this thing got an alcohol bath before I started the reflowing shown in the video. Thanks for watching 👍👍👍
Where could I get the Atari cable to put in? The ones I see online look different than the one you put in
You can use any RCA type cable. Just make sure it will fit in that tight area. Also make sure it's shielded.
Are you still around? I have a question about hooking up an Odyssey 2 system.
Oh yeah, I'm still doing you tube. What's up??

@@lauriehall8426 Also try both channels 3 and 4. The previous owner may have set it to work on channel 4 instead of 3.
Does anyone make a multi-cart for this system? Seems you'd like to have the whole game catalog if you're going to invest in the console...
