This how I would plan CM Punk's storyline of main eventing Wrestlemania 41:
1. Make Randy Orton win the WWE Championship against Cody Rhodes by turning heel at Bad Blood.
2. CM Punk simultaneously wins back to back at Bash in Berlin in a strap match and then in a Hell in Cell match at Bad Blood against Drew Mcintyre to push his story caliber as a very physical wrestler who works hard to compete and win grueling matches.
3. Then CM Punk make switch to Smackdown by making a great story promo about cementing his legacy as one of the greatest of all time while fulfilling his dream of main eventing Wrestlemania. Then, he challenges Randy Orton for the title at Survivor Series.
4. Survivor Series - CM Punk vs Randy Orton: CM Punk wins. A rematch can be done at any small PPVs or even on a RAW or Smackdown (short one: 10-15 mins with loads of big moves and finishers) as a main event and CM Punk wins that one to keep the title. Here somehow in the end, the Rock shows up and beats up CM Punk with a rock bottom and people's elbow setting up a dream match at Royal Rumble between the Final Boss and the newer version of CM Punk (more ruthless, hungry to win).
5. Royal Rumble - CM Punk vs Rock: CM Punk wins. This match makes sense because this is where his 434 day historic title reign ended and that too against the Rock. Simultaneously, John Cena wins the Royal Rumble setting up another dream match at the main event of Wrestlemania 41 - CM Punk vs John Cena.
6. Wrestlemania 41 - CM Punk vs John Cena (title/legacy of being greatest of all time vs career match): CM Punk wins. In this way, John Cena gets to battle for his 17th title reign (to beat Rick Flair's record and have the most number of WWE titles) in his final match and CM Punk also gets the opportunity to cement his legacy as one of the greatest wrestlers of all time by fighting John Cena (Makes sense because John Cena is his greatest ever opponent) in the main event of the showpiece of all wrestling events: Wrestlemania. This gives a story an extra layer of depth from both wrestlers point of view.
In this way, CM Punk battles the three biggest superstars of the WWE PG Era : Randy Orton, John Cena, Rock and cements his legacy as one of the greatest wrestlers of all time from that era. Is he actually the greatest of all time? I don't know.. but he is definitely one of the most influential wrestlers of all time. ;)
