I'm surprised Safety Dance only made it to number 3 in the US. That song was everywhere! I still love hearing it today. I listened to The Great Ones Remember, and you're right, it's a innovative song. Enjoying this yearly series, Catherine!
@@MarkMorris-1962 Thank you, Mark. I wonder what songs were at #1&2. 1983 was the year Michael Jackson's Thriller. This is why MCA didn't promote Men Without Hats very well.
@@WalkingYoshi Thank you. I am doing a series called 1980s records I have not shown yet. 1983 is the third video on the playlist. I appreciate your comment. 😊
Really enjoying your LP's per year series, Catherine. My high school years! There was no escaping The Safety Dance, and Madonna's debut is an undeniable dance pop classic. Burning Up is a fav track. 😎🎶
Pretty neat that both Say It Isn't So & Adult Education became Top 10 hits for Hall & Oates along with the classic tracks on the album. Family Man is my favorite. Daryl Hall is such a great singer. Happy Labor Day 😊
Nice video! Like 👍. I always look forward to new videos on your channel! Wonderful content and impeccable execution! Dear Catherine, I thank you for your work and wish you inspiration and success in all your endeavors! Have a nice day! 🌅 Marisha.
Everybody is such a underrated track. Shouldve charted top40. Not sure if it did. Saw men without hats in 2016 here in Australia. Chronologically dated 80s show started with them ended with Martika. Ivan had his sunglasses on as we were first row corner stage. Just a fantastic night. Ill give that recommended song a listen to as well. Glad you didnt go with Thriller too obvious a choice. Great posting as usual
@@JAD-rb1fr I hope to see Men Without Hats someday. Ivan lives in Vancouver BC, so he performs where I live. I showed my copy of Thriller in a vinyl tag video. The question was show an album everyone has.
Safety Dance sure was a big hit! Actually, I’ve been thinking if I should get that Men Without Hats album. Alright. Now you’ve convinced me I should get it!
Yes Safety Dance was on MTV constantly ,good tune! Madonna what can ya say she's awesome, I'm a big fan! I can't remember if I have rock and soul 1 or 2. I just know I don't have both
