I just put a hedychium greenii (purple ginger) in amongst rocks and looks great against them for near small dicksonia. By pool of course I'm going to recommend ferns, if shady the polystichum setiferum, they are easy and big, if gets some sun then dryopteris will work.
ah thats a great idea have been interested in adding gingers to the garden that would look great there! and of course i agree on the fern side i think they really help to soften the edges! possibly thinking of some mind your own business around the back edges🤔
