As long as older systems still has support for the OS required to run the games, some of the CPU's actually run suprisingly decent. With lowered settings ingame of course. My nephew still uses a system with a I7 - 970 CPU, upgraded it a couple of years ago with faster RAM populating all 3 channels, OC'ed both the processor and memory, hooked up a couple of SSD's and an RX580 8gb. In terms of playing newer AAA games where the minimum requirements are set higher it is basically useless, but for potatogames and e-sports still doing fairly well. It's fun to see how much fps you can pull from older systems.
I was worried about cpu bottlenecking but I found during my testing, when I tested the games at 1440p majority of the workload was placed on the gpu so it kept the cpu from being the limiting factor. The games I tested though still had good fps numbers on 1080p without the cpu struggling so I think he’ll still be good for a couple more years.
When I added AMD’s Adrenaline Software and used it for the driver updates, I did a full factory reset with fresh install of the AMD drivers. I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure this method eliminates nvidia drivers and the stock AMD drivers. Like I said, I could be wrong in that regard though.
I’ll look into it and see. I didn’t notice any issues during or post testing but thanks for the heads up. 🤙🏽🤙🏽 Maybe an expert will read these and chime in so we know
@tyjamestv just double-checked it, and I watched a video where they used some DDU software to remove drivers. Better be safe than sorry. Enjoy you new build

Congratulations on the upgrade. Small doubt, did u unistall old nvidia gpu drivers?

@tyjamestv I heard it cause problems, so I was just asking.
