      Also when it gives you an equation and tells you to put the solution in an expression , you can solve for the coefficient times the variable by multiplying a certain number by the variable
      Example
      If 7x=14 then 21x+2 is
      Multiply both sides by 3
      21x=42
      (42) +2 = 44

      I JUST COMMENT The questions are easy, but you have barely over a minute for each. If you spend more than 2 minutes on one problem, that might ruin the whole math no calculator section.

    5:34 answer= 8
    a new way of solving quadratic
    2m^2 -16m + 8=0
    m^2 -8m +4 =0
    B= 8/2 = 4
    (B+z)(B-z)= C
    B^2-z^2 =4
    16-4 =z^2
    12 = z^2
    z = 3.4
    solution then is 4-3.4=0.6 and 4+3.4 = 7.4
    0.6 +7.4= 8

      Any algebra 2 textbook and many places online, I’m sure. It’s a very simple concept though - if you have an equation where the exponents on each side have the same base but a different power, then those powers must equal each other, so you can just set them equal to each other and “drop the bases.” For instance, if 2^3=2^x-1, then 3=x-1, and x=4. 8:45 you don't need the quadratic formula to derive vieta's formulas, i will show here (it works for all degrees of polynomials):
    ax^n+bx^(n-1)...+q =0 where q is the constant.
    if r_1, r_2,...,r_n are the roots, the original equation is factored as a(x-r_1)(x-r_2)...(x-r_n). this expands out into a(x^n-(r_1+r_2+...+r_n)x^(n-1)...). this expands further into ax^n-a(r_1+r_2+...+r_n)x^(n-1)...+q=0 so b=-a(sum of roots). the sum of the roots is therefore -b/a.
    The product is derived similarly as +- (q/a). + if n is even, - if n is odd.
    Even more interestingly, r_1*r_2 + r_2*r_3...+r_n*r_1 = c/a where c is the third term. r_1*r_2*r_3+r_2*r_3*r_4+... + r_n*r_1*r_2
    = -d/a where d is the 4th term, etc.
    also, it's called a discriminant, not a determinant. you use determinants in linear algebra.
    (this is not a stupid formula.)

    Answer =8 (1:27)
    x^a^2- b^2 (the rule of exponent as x^y/x^n = x^y-n)
    x^(a+b)(a-b) {factor a^2-b^2 which equals (a+b)(a-b)}
    x^ 2(a-b) (substitute a+b = 2 given)
    x^2a-2b = x^16
    2a-2b=16
    a- b = 8 (divide both sides by 2)
    PS provided you know the quotient rule of exponent, can factor the difference of squares, (then you substitute a+b for 2), and then equate the exponent (such as if x^n+1= x^2, then set n+1=2, hence n=1) YOU will get it.

    Here is a hard SAT algebra question
    For a positive real number, x, where x^8 = 2, what is the value of x^24?
    A) cube root of 24
    B) 4
    C) 6
    D) 8

    • @anudeepannangi9813
      @anudeepannangi9813 5 лет назад +3

      @andrewcalfa The right answer is D) 8. To isolate x in the first equation, we must take the 8th root of x on both sides, therefore x = 8th root of 2. We can rewrite x as 2^(1/8) . Now, we plug 2^(1/8) into the second equation. After plugging it in, it should look like this: ( 2 ^ (1 /8) ) ^ 24. This simplifies to 2^3 which is 8.

    • @ssharpphd3054
      @ssharpphd3054 5 лет назад +2

      Raise both sides of the equation to the third power. (x^8)^3 = x^24 = 2^3 = 8. It is the "power of a power" rule in some texts. When a power is raised to another power, you multiply. 8*3=24.
